I found some great used books and CDs at great prices (i.e. less than ebay or amazon marketplace). The. Best deal was a $7 CD that was selling on ebay for over $50. Also, I found a $20 comic for only $7. The layout of the store is odd and there is no map or directory, but the staff is very helpful. If a book is not marked with a price, you have to ask, but you may be plesantly surprised at what they offer. Highly recommend! (For any book lover, but especially if you arent looking for something specific and just want to peruse a good used bookstore).

An amazing book store. They have a great selection of used and sometimes hard to find books on just about every subject that you can think of. If they dont have something that you are looking for, be sure to ask them. They have a huge warehouse out in Maryland that has hundreds of thousands of books. Side note - books at the warehouse are always 40% off the price listed!

I love a good independent bookstore and the location (Dupont Circle) is excellent, but Ive never been impressed with the book selection here. All the books seem ancient so its NOT the place to find a large, modern selection of travel books or business books. The one good side of this place is that they often have discounted books outside their store front.

Im a sucker for used bookstores and this is a good one. More of a focus on vintage and first edition books. The science fiction section for example felt like it had stopped in about 1985 but still a fun place to kill a few minutes and maybe find a nice gift for someone who likes old books. Great location right off Dupont Circle.

Terrible customer service. I dont know if the person who answered my call was suffering from severe phone anxiety or he is just a horrible person but this man was very rude. He spoke to me with very little respect and all I wanted to know was their policy on trading books.

Other bookstores in Dupont tend to get more attention, but Second Story is where its at. Great staff and a shockingly robust collection of first editions and signed copies, posters to browse through, and a large collection of general used books. Well worth repeat visits.

Found amazing amazing books at this shop! They have a big collection including posters, artworks and etchings. I was especially moved by the sign with a woman wearing a hijab that says "everyone is welcome here" a true testament of what knowledge gives you.

Awesome book store to find some cool old books! If your looking to sell, they dont buy books for cash, they only do store credit. But there are enough gems there that it shouldnt be much of a problem. Definitely worth a few minutes of your time.

Gorgeous bookstore with some equally gorgeous collectors items. However, prices run a little high for a used bookstore. Decent bargain selection outside. Good if youve got money to spend. Otherwise you wont want to buy more than two books here
