i really love the store! theres nothing like a bookstore to relax your mind and escape your daily routine. my two stars are for the caffee staff, they need to be taught what customer service is all about. i went in at 9:30 pm (they close at 10pm) thinking i had more than enough time to order something to drink and look thru some magazines. as soon as i get to the caffee counter trying to decide what to get , the barista stands in a are-you-fu**ing-s**ting-me type of way.. my husband and i are talking about what we could order, she interrupts asking "can i help you".. i told her that if she could give me a second she could.... ...we finally order... needless to say her attitude was the sh**iest attitude ever. my husband gets his hot cocoa.. my daughter her chocolate milk.. and i get my BOILING chai latte... AND I MEAN BOILING! i checked my husbands cocoa and it was normally HOT like a Hot cocoa should be... i lie to you not! by the time i got home and put my daughter to sleep (10:30 or so) my latte was still boiling hot i was unable to finish it. of course she changed all the trash can bags right next to me when i was sitting at one of the tables with my daughter.. she put all the chairs up on the tables all around me... i could go on.. this is the thing: i never made her stay late.. i left at 9:50pm (plenty of time for her to do her trash cans and chairs) i worked in customer service almost almost all my life... and even if i hated the fact that a person would walk in last minute into the store, i would bite my tongue and wouldve done my job the best way possible. because i GOT PAID to do it! from the age of 15 to the age of 26. i hope management from this store educates their staff about a better customer service, and also reward them for good incentive, or when they do a good job at it. thanks for my burnt tongue barista.

The staff here are absolutely wonderful; undoubtedly some of the friendliest and most helpful workers Ive ever met! Ive been going to this BAM for years because of them. As far as the books go, there is a good overall selection, and the shelves are always neat and well-organized. And if you dont see it in store, the staff are more than happy to order it online for you. Theres also extensive sections devoted to other multimedia, as well as board games, toys, memorabilia, stationary, etc. The cafè is a much-appreciated feature; its excellent for studying or just grabbing a coffee and reading for a bit. The store also has an excellent array of discounted/bargain titles - including comics and graphic novels (which as any comic fan knows, is rare to find). Easily the best bookstore in the region! Love it here.

I go here several times a week to study. While the bookstore itself is standard big box fare, I cant complain about the selection. I have been able to find some titles I have been looking for, but nothing too obscure. I have found the cafe staff to be courteous and friendly. Chris and Tyler, the staff I see the most often ,are fantastic at customer service. Chris remembers regulars names and what they like to order. He offers ice water to customers and is able to make recommendations for drinks. When it isnt busy he will bring orders to the customers where they are sitting. He definitely goes above and beyond. I havent really found any other local options that I like for studying, and this one fits the bill.

This book store is very similar to Borders and is very clean and well-kept. The bathrooms are, most of the time, relatively clean. The coffee shop prices are like star bucks prices (a little high) but it is good tasting drinks. The selection is very large, but their organization of the books could be better. It is difficult to, sometimes, find a book that you are looking for. Otherwise I would recommend coming here is you are in the market for a book and do not want to wait for it to come from an online store.

The East York store had terrible customer service. The man we asked for help from clearly had no interest in being useful. He did the bare minimum and spoke with an impatient and condescending tone. The older woman behind the counter was extremely condescending and scolding about us not renewing their discount card, when we simply didnt have the money for it. The cashiers were the only ones who seemed to be nice. Our cashier with dread locks was very friendly. We will be taking our business elsewhere from now on.

Absolutely have gotta be the rudest people in York county! They need to get a negative review star!! Went in looking for a book as a holiday gift that I found on there website for a certain price and apparently there instore prices 1are significantly higher and I was told by the rude dinosaur woman manager that they do not and will not honor there own online pricing!!! And ya wonder why everyone just downloads books!!.....just saying!

This location if well stocked and have success in finding great books and music. The coffee bar can get a bit overwhelmed during busy periods but its worth the wait. I usually get some frozen coffee concoction. The various ones Ive tried have been wonderful. I have noticed that they arent quite as aggressive with trying to get you to sign up for their rewards program. I have found this to be a positive step.

Thoroughly enjoyed looking thru the selections till I found the perfect book also got a tasty latte and earphones. However when I went to check out it became a nightmare. I was offered the books a million discount card and 3 times I declined. I finally got the card to get out of the store. Havent been back since and will not return.

Its not Barnes and Nobles, so. No chairs to sit in in the book area, tolerable staff, good selection of discount books but other genres/products are lacking. But its a bookstore... So. *shrugs* The drinks are okay, often they are too sweet or not sweet enough. Oh well! Their drip coffee is very good.

In contrast to the lingering comparisons to Borders, Books-A-Million is just as wonderful. Im an avid reader and the people employed there are always very friendly and are always answer any questions or to help find a specific book...but I dont recommend the coffee. It isnt very good, for the price.

Very very poor staff, as in not helpful in anyway. The young gentleman Barista that had left was the best one they had. The store manager is just lazy and rude. I did there magazine thing, canceled the subscription about six months ago and Im getting charged for it. The store is just a scam.

Hate buying books at this to this place. Checking out is like pulling teeth... The unwelcome solicitations of 10+ up-sales and the membership card is such a drain. 15 mins of saying no just to have another dozen offers is so gross. Staff is cringe-worthy.

Not all the stores carry the same books and stock. They will ship items from one store to another. Staff is very helpful to put you in the correct section for the type of books you want. They give a nice discount for return customers and heavy readers.
