Minnesota Florist is the most horrible florist in Washington, DC. They are notorious for delivering late or never at all. Ruby, the owner does not take responsibility for her actions. No apologies, compensation, credits or nothing. My family has used them for years, but never again. Ordered flowers for my girlfriend's mother's funeral. Minnesota Florist delivered the flowers over four hours late, after the funeral service, during the repast. I was mortified! They had no explanation or apology, just waltzed up in there looking like they have been rolling in hay.
Just this month, my family ordered over $1000.00 worth of flowers for a loved ones funeral. Can you imagine the disgust on our faces when we arrived to the church and none of the flowers we ordered had been delivered. The flowers for the casket were not there, nor any of the other ones. The funeral started at 9:00 am and we expressed that to Ruby, the owner. She assured us and reassured us that the flowers would be delivered, and on time. Again, Minnesota Florist of Washington, DC failed paying customers.
They offered no apologies whatsoever. Looked liked she grabbed some folk from the local homeless shelter to walk up in a church while a funeral was in progress, and she was the one delivering. We were disgusted and I will pursue this further.
PLEASE DO NOT USE MINNESOTA FLORIST UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!

I am so irritated with this place, I ordered a bleeding heart arrangement for my moms home going service 3 days before, I spoke with the manager personally because I was referred to her by someone who spoke highly of her and said that she uses her all the time. The lady who referred me was also ordering a plant for my moms home going service. The manager told me that my bleeding heart arrangement will arrive at the Church at 10:30 am, well it wasnt there. It didnt arrive until the home going service was almost over. What they should have done was call me and let me know that they wasnt going to be there at the time they promised it would be there and let me make the decision for them to still bring it or not, the manager barely wanted to say that she was sorry. I was pissed and so hurt that I couldnt believe that happened. I called the manager first thing Monday morning and she didnt really have anything to say. I am going to call my bank to see about disputing the charge or see if I can get some kind of refund. This was my moms home going service and to deliver the arrangement when the service was almost over was so awful and insensitive, they didnt care about the fact that I lost my mom, but I bet they took my money with no shame. I rate Minnesota Florist below a zero, and wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. I would rather spend the money at an expensive florist than to give it to this unprofessional all about getting your money with poor service establishment.

Use someone else..."all sales are final whether you are satisfied or NOT". No refunds...just an "in-store" credit for service by the same service youre unsatisfied with. Worst florist experience in all of my 60years of using other florist. Price was higher than others I have used. Pre-ordered for Mothers Day to be delivered 2 days in advance to avoid the Saturday rush. Flowers were NOT received although the recipient adamantly stated she was at home on Thursday when they were to be delivered. The store claimed to have left a voice mail, however did not leave anything on the door to indicate that a delivery was attempted....NOR did they contact the customer to inform me that an attempt was made. Monday after the Mothers Day has passed, Im informed that they reattempted again, however still did not leave a tag on the door of the attempted delivery, nor did they contact the customer of inabilty to deliver until I called to request a refund. The recipient lives in an apartment complex with tenants on the right and left and neither were asked to accept the delivery. Im certain that the "Happy Mothers Day" order received by them on Wednesday was mixed in with other deliveries and not attempted until the usual large load Saturday deliveries were attempted. Ill not use them again based on the "satisfaction not gauranteed" , "all sales final whether satisfied or not" policy.

I give them 4 out of 5 stars because they make some of the most beautiful arrangements at a fraction of the cost of what other florists in the DC area or on line charge but the management/customer service of the place could use a little work. Its a family owned business and so there are the ups and downs in dealing with family owned businesses. If you are not in a hurry or need something at the last minute, give them a call. If you need something in a hurry opt for pick up and not delivery. They wont disappoint you. I know I havent been disappointed in 8 years! I am the assistant to 2 pastors at a church in college park. For years the church had been using a local florists to deliver the weekly altar arrangement. It was always a basic arrangement and looked like it was made from the leftovers off the floor. I called Minnesota Florists because I had received a bouquet as a gift for my birthday. I was so impressed, I started using them at the church and they gave us an arrangement filled with exotic color roses and carnations, lilies, etc for the same price as the college park florists. Well it was a no brainer! I switched to Minnesota.

If I could rate the services a 1 star I will. I called this establishment on TUESDAY, it is now friday and my arrangement has YET to be delivered to my patient. It is unfortunate that a business like this could be so unprofessional. I asked to speak with the manager, and was told she was not there. The call was disconnected 3 times on their end (employee continued to hung up and say, " We will deliver it") When I asked what the hold up was, I was told" I dont know" Im so mad I didnt read the reviews before hand. It seems Im not the only one this has happened too! I will be filing a credit card dispute, and will be speaking with Better Business Bureau today. Oh, Did I mentioned, im still trying to call back and no one is answering? Our patient lost her father and we wanted to give something on behalf of the office. It is so unfortunate that I selected this company and 3 days later, one credit payment later, our arrangement has yet to be delivered. Please do not select this business. They are not for the people, and the employees are not respectful either

I wanted to send flowers to my daughter, and wanted to use a local business instead of an Internet service. Ordered a bouquet on Wednesday to be delivered Friday. The flowers were never delivered. I called Minnesota Florist on Sunday to see what the problem was. The woman was pretty rude, gave no reason the flowers werent delivered, and offered no apology at all. She told me the flowers would be delivered Sunday. Given her attitude, I didnt have much hope. The flowers were NOT delivered. I called again Monday morning. Once again, no excuse, no apology. Cancelled the order and called my bank to stop payment. This florist is unreliable, unhelpful, and rude. This wasnt a last-minute order - they had plenty of time to either deliver the flowers or let me know they couldnt fulfill the order so I could go elsewhere. They had two chances and let me down both times - and couldnt even offer an apology. I certainly wouldnt trust them with anything like wedding or funeral flowers. Do yourself a favor and take your business to another florist!
