The Hockessin Book Shelf is a tidy little book store that focuses on keeping a diverse and interesting collection at a good price. I wouldnt expect to go in and find a specific book, but when it comes to browsing, HBS is unparalleled. My niece and I have a ritual of going and poking through the stacks. She always walks away with something worthwhile from Where the Sidewalk Ends to Black Beauty to Bridge to Terabithia. And for me, Im pleased with the selection they offer in the sci-fi/fantasy section. Two thumbs up.

In these times of big box retailers and online giants catering to your every need, it is nice to have a small, independent bookstore that gets it right. Rebecca and her team has a nice mix of new and used books, a focus on supporting local authors, and there is always some author event happening there or offsite. If they dont have it, ask and they will do their best to get it for you!

Large selection of used books at a reasonable price. You can also open an account and get store credit for books you are ready to part with. They have a great variety, promote local events and host authors for book signings. Very friendly and helpful as well.

This is *the* best new and used bookstore in the area! Everyone who works there is knowledgeable and helpful! Wonderful selection of books in house, and they can have any book you want within a couple of days and discounted!
