If I am being honest, I wish I could give this store 0 stars. My family and I had a terrible experience today. Our daughter earned Honors with Distinction at school this quarter so we decided to reward her with a fish. When we were at the store, the associate did not even know how long that type of fish would live so we just bought the fish, a small tank, and went home. We were all so happy, named the fish, put it in the tank, fed it, and we were even talking to it. Our daughters friend informed her that the fish should be in saltwater. Our daughter tried to call Petco to ask about this and the store associate was rude and hung up on her. When she called back, they hung up again. So, she called Petsmart and they could not believe that Petco gave us no information about the care of the fish. They also advised us to return the fish immediately in order for its survival and said Petco shouldve advised us that the fish needs to live in a larger tank. On the way back to Petco, the fish died. When we went in to talk to the manager, June, she just talked about the refund. She did not apologize for our experience and she did not seem to care about the fish dieing. My family and I left in tears. What a horrible experience!

They still enforce the breed discrimination policy even though they use these same breeds to promote how they help with adoptions and talk about every dog deserving a home. Theyll take your money, use your dog for their own purposes, but dont try and get him included in the daycare of the overnight boarding. No sir. Not all breeds are welcome, and that prompts the negative stereotype which they ought to be ashamed of since these dogs fill the animal shelters and are first to be euthanized. Thanks, Petco, for making it harder for them and for owners like me.

Its a little harder to find a helpful and informative staff member in this store compared to other local pet stores, however, when you are speaking to the staff member in this store with a specialty in the type of animal you have questions about they really tend to know their stuff and have very helpful and informative answers to any questions you may have. They have a decent variety of products and carry everything you could need for all common pets. They have a small selection of reptiles, birds, and small caged mammals and a decent selection of fish.

Just moved into town and my dog needed some TLC. I own a 3 year old Shorkie who accumulated a massive amount of matted hair in the process of our move and enjoying his new swimming pool. I took him to the Waterford Petco and the ladies there were lovely!!! Dexter looks amazing and shows no sign of any skin trauma as the result of this. They were prompt in calling me once he was finished. Dexter cant wait to go back and I cant say enough good things about how he was treated.

This Petco is a pretty good pet store. Its the only one in the area that consistently has the brand of ferret food we like to buy and the price is usually the cheapest here. Last time we went they didnt have a lot of animals available to purchase but it has usually been pretty well stocked. The cashiers are usually really nice and if you dont mind people bringing their dogs shop with them then its a good place to quickly get some pet supplies.

I wish I could rate 0 stars but I cant. My family and I were crying because they killed that poor fish. They didnt tell us that a clownfish needed saltwater and when we told the manager, June what happened she didnt care and the first thing she said was we dont usually give refunds. We love animals so on the way home we were thinking of names for the fish and got Finley. Just a recommend anybody reading this to never go here again like us

I went to petco and bought a fish today, it died 2 hours later because no one there told me anything about it. It was in fresh water and no one told me that it needed to be in salt. I went back in tears and the manager said "we dont refund." They didnt even care about their animals, they strictly care about money. Absolute worst service and uncaring people Ive ever met in my entire life. Truly, they should be shut down.

Cyndie has been the groomer for my dogs for many years. She is very experienced and takes pride in her workmanship which is evident because when I take my Shih Tzus for a walk people often comment on their grooming style. But what is most important for me is that my dogs love her and I am very comfortable entrusting them to her because she truly cares about the dogs left in her care.

I knocked a star off because while walking around the store looking for flea/tick medication, an employee passed by, but didnt ask if he could help me find what I was looking for (Im sure if I had asked, he would have). However, the woman at the register was very helpful, and let me know that the product I was purchasing was buy one get one 50% off if I wanted to buy a second.

I have been doing training there with my puppy. Tiffany, our trainer is great. The whole staff is helpful with training, so that he can learn to say hi to people politely. They have been very flexible when things come up and I have to miss class or change times.

Nice store and helpful staff. The customers tend to be rude here every time I try to price match to their website they do that no problem some one is complaining probably because they tend to only have one register open at a time.

Im just cracking up right now that an entire family didnt know a clownfish needed salt water. Finding Nemo? Finding Dora? Takes place in the ocean folks. And yeah I like Petco for dog food, but who buys fish there?

Petco in general is just completely overpriced. I would much rather give my money to the local mom and pop pet store that actually knows something about my pets and cares.

Can be very hard to get assistance. I have also received different answers to care for fish and it makes it hard to know what I need to do to care for them.
