Horrible service. Highly unprofessional rude and verbally and physically assaulted my new wife. Anyone reading this please warn others to avoid these crazy people. I rented my tuxes for my wedding party there and it was a nightmare. We were told we would get them on Wednesday and came Thursday morning with my family to pick up before traveling several hours to the wedding destination only to wait for the delivery. Then some were missing and all the shoes were wrong. They said the rest would arrive later that day and would forward the package to the wedding. After we called several times to follow up and arguing with them until the night before the wedding we were still short a couple tuxes. There response was to forward the package to arrive 3 hours before the wedding. Keep in mind they promised 3 days. With little option we had to take care of it ourselves by having someone drive the tuxes that night. Horrible experience. Not something you want to deal with before your wedding. It gets worse yet. Upon return, my now one month pregnant wife went to return the rentals. She asked kindly for a discount for poor service. They became furious with her and started yelling and insulting her. The owner called the police, I believe because he was afraid he was going to physically attack her. The owner grabbed her arms got inches from her face and stepped on her feet yelling at her about how dare she ask for a discount. When they arrived the police apologized to my weeping wife for the incident and did not understand why the owner called them. Needless to say this place is not safe for anyone and in my opinion should be shut down. Avoid at all cost. Worst customer experience I have ever had, period.

Great experience. I remembered this Bridal House while driving near the New Haven/North Haven area and decided to give them a call to see if they could squeeze me in for an impromptu Bridal appointment. Fortunately for me they were finishing up with a previous guest and was able to accommodate my visit. While the wife, Kathleen, was finishing up with previous guest, Brian (the husband) took the time to assess my needs and give me a quick tour of their wedding dresses. Needless to say I was extremely impressed with this Bridal House. My wedding is planned for late August and I was getting concerned with the leadtime to order a dress. I provided my price budget and the look/style I felt best would suit me. When Kathleen became free, she immediately starting pulling out dresses for me to try (and most importantly did not waste my time nor theirs in trying to sell me something outside of my price range). I honestly believe Ive found my wedding dress. Kathleen suggested I take some time to sleep on it to make sure it was exactly what I wanted (no pressure). She also willngly offered to take pictures of me in the dresses so Id have visuals to review while making my decision. I will admit that the previous reviews posted regarding this store deterred me from trying out this location initially...Im very sorry to hear about their orders being delayed. My situation is a bit different as I will not need to order my wedding dress as the dress in the store fit like a glove and no alteration (other than a bustle) is needed. I can only hope that other customers will experience the quality of service I did on today. Thank you Brian and Kathleen...

I highly recommend anyone who is getting married to go see Brian and Kathleen. They could not have been more helpful! Picking out the bridesmaid dresses for my wedding was a no brainer. I went to every store and circled back to Special Occasions because their quality of dress had all other stores beat. Not only was their quality amazing, but they were so helpful with even my wedding dress! I have to tell you if you want people who truly care about your special day then go see Special Occasions today!!! They do not control when the bridesmaid dresses are shipped from the factory, but they do everything they can to stay connected and to always keep the Bride in the loop!! I am very happy with their services and recommend all newly engaged couples to go check them out. I had first gone to Special Occasions when I was in high school for one of my friends relatives wedding. I remembered how great we were treated and knew when my special day came that I would have to return. Thank you guys for running an awesome shop!!!!

Special Occasions Bridal House said that they would have bridesmaids dresses to their shop by the end of June. The dresses are still not in and will not be in until Monday July 15. Due to this delay, I now require the dress to be shipped to me in order to get alterations done in time for the wedding (I have about 2 weeks to do this). Had the dress come in prior to the start of July, I had arrangements for pick up. Because of this delay, which Special Occasions says is not their fault, I requested they waive the shipping fee. This request was absurd to the shop and I was berated on the phone. Plain and simple, they said they would keep the dress (although they WOULD charge my card for the remaining balance) unless I paid for shipping or made other arrangements despite any inconvenience to me. The customer service is absolutely appalling and their treatment of me unacceptable.

We ordered our bridesmaid dresses through this shops website about 6 months prior the wedding date. After numerous requests for updates (2 months prior to the wedding) we were told the order was placed and the dresses were en route. A few weeks later, we were then told there was a mistake and our dress orders were NEVER placed!!!! They were unable to rush the order with the manufacturer and our bride was forced to chose a different dress for us. Only 3 dress styles were available to choose from at the time. Several of us received dresses that were not our size. While they rush shipped our new dresses and slightly (very slightly) compensated us for our troubles and the cost of additional alterations, I would never recommend this bridal shop. There is no excuse for being unable to keep track of your orders.

When we first got there it was nice. The people are nice. However, ever since we paid for our dresses and walked out, its been nothing but a pain! We were promised that the dresses would be in by mid-June. It is now mid-July and the dresses came in 2 weeks ago HOWEVER! They did not pick up the dresses 2 weeks ago because they were closed on Friday, so they picked them up a week later! (WHAT?!) Were you not doing business Monday-Thursday as well??!! The wedding is 3 weeks away and they said they would ship them to us for free and although Ive asked them last Friday when the dresses would be in, they havent responded. It is now Tuesday afternoon. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST DRESS PLACE I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH!

I bought my wedding dress here and LOVED the couple that own this place. They were so kind and helpful. I loved how intimate it was and always recommend this place to anyone I know is looking. My sister and a great friend of mine also bought their dresses from here and had amazing experiences as well. Def go in and give them a try!
