This is one of the dirties grocery stores I have even entered. The entrance if scattered with garbage, the carpeted area is beyond dirty, and the entire entrance on both sides smells like cigarettes. The meat/fish/poultry area smells like week old trash and fish. There is absolutely no reason in the world that this store should be as dirty as it is or smell as badly as it does. Madison Ct. is not an impoverished community, people here support local commerce, if they are not supporting the Madison Ct. Stop N Shop, thats because its filthy dirty, has a poor selection of grass fed beef, wild caught fish, local produce, and other items, and it smells. This needs to be addressed at the corporate level. Simply unacceptable.

I use to shop in the Branford location, (which was ok) but I now shop at the Madison Branch regularly and have been pleased not only with the overall quality and cleanliness, but the attentive workers, specifically in the meat department. My family and I enjoyed the fresh products purchased, and I enjoyed the friendly service I was given! The quality of their products and their consumer relations is worth every dime spent!

Stop & Ripoff Madison in the worst grocery store on the Shoreline. Ever wonder why the meat and seafood area stinks to high hell? It is totally disgusting, and you should see the butcher room behind it! I used to work there, but I havent eaten seafood since (2 years), and I would never eat any meat from this store. I drive an extra 7 miles to the Clinton Shoprite. It is well worth the drive, and much more reasonably priced.

This is pretty poorly managed store. In the past month I have been in store where they have run out of staples like bananas and onions and today (a Saturday) I went to buy french bread only to find that they were all out of it as well as almost any of their other so called artisinal breads. The staff is very friendly and helpful but the people in charge are clearly asleep at the switch.
