I shopped here several years ago, but the employees were unhelpful to the point of rudeness, and there were so many customers I had to wait for people to move along before I could get to the shelves and refrigerators. I decided to give it one more try yesterday, and since I chose a time when there were few people shopping, I got all the way through the store without having to stand and wait for the crowd to part. The store was cleaner than it used to be, a few of the things I usually buy were a bit cheaper (50 cents to a dollar less) than elsewhere, and theyve added more organic and natural foods. However, I couldnt find half of the brands I like, the deli and bakery departments were minimally stocked with unappealing things, and the employees and customers were as rude as before. For all those reasons, Im sticking with Hannaford.

I recently bought two packages of ground lamb to make a shepards pie. At first glance, the packaging appeared to be filled with air which seemed odd but all the packages looked the same so I went ahead a purchased them ($14.75 combined). I also gathered the rest of the ingredients I needed to make this meal, grand total coming to over $26. After over an hour of preparing the meal, we realized the lamb was bad. The date on the package indicated it was fresh, but the meat was not fresh and the whole meal went to waste. Im glad we were able to taste the turned meat before it made any of us sick. Beware when you purchase meats here. One bite of rotten meat was enough for me to shop somewhere else.

Quite surprised the 7pm close on Sundays as I only got inside the store @6:30pm and 5 minutes notice to get to the cashiers they were closing. 15 minutes is ideal. I was surpassed how disorganized the shelves were in the bakery area particularly. I zoomed around as fast as possible but wasnt a great shopping experience. The 12 items or less aisle was not available thus forcing me to wait on a long line of many items. The prices are ok but for a single shopper not anything to rave about. I rarely go here for that reason.

This store is very organized. They have a large meat department as well as produce, seafood and a wonderful freezer section. They had plenty of bulk items, so you can really stock up. Their prices are excellent, we saved so much by shopping here. They have a very nice selection of organic food as well. Wine and beer as well as a lovely deli. We will be shopping here from now on. The cashier and the man bagging our groceries were so polite and funny as well. We really enjoyed our shopping trip here!

Love this store. Small enough to get through in reasonable time. Great selections in the deli, and cold cuts speciality case. Prices are reasonable, and good weekly sales. Love the staff. These folks sacrificed quite a bit a while back to stand up to proposed corporate changes. Not an easy job, but lots of long term employees. Produce is excellent. Good quality bakery items.

Large selection of items. I was purchasing a premade Easter dinner from the deli and was told to go to the fresh bakery section to get my pie. When I asked for it a manager was standing near by and he jumped into action and got it for me; escorting me to the register to make sure I wasnt charged for it.

Prices and set up are amazing but honestly a lot of the employees are seriously rude basically every time I visit which is about 5 or 6 times a month and the long lines are getting more and more ridiculous every time :/ and the store refuses to open more lines

The prices are the best at Market Basket supermarket thats why I shop there but watch out at the checkout they will put your bananas and your bread on the bottom and turn your cake upside down half the time at least when bagging

The Claremont, NH store is too small. I love shopping there but its always too busy & hard to move around in that cramped space . Move to the old K-Mart building. You need a BIGGER store. This one is old & needs updating.

Lines are slow, perishables expire within a day or two of buying them, and they arent priced any differently than any other store to compensate for the shortcomings.

We travel from Lebanon to Claremont at least once a month to save $$. Groceries are expensive in Lebanon compared to Claremont so its worth the trip.
