In June of 2009 my wife and I purchased an 09 VW Jetta TDI from Mitchell VW. Our bad experiences with this dealership started that very day and finally ended yesterday April 20, 2012. Day 1 we bought the car and went back later that evening after they were closed and saw they left the window open IN THE RAIN! We bought extra accessories for the car and when they installed them they left greasy fingerprints all over the light gray ceiling liner. We had also traded in a vehicle that we still owed money for... they were supposed to send the money to the bank to get the vehicle title... we assumed that was done right away until a year ago when we got our credit checked and it said we were derelict on a payment for several months AFTER WE TRADED IT IN!! They waited months to pay and WE get the bad credit report! In the course of the nearly 3 years we owned the car my wife recieved a bad attitude from the service department but there isnt enough space to get into those stories. About a month ago when we decided a to start looking for a new vehicle.. they refused to uncover the 2012 Touareg for my wife to look at it... I guess because he wrongly assumed she could not afford it. We were between that and a Volvo XC 90, but i really loved that diesel engine so we went yesterday to test drive the Touared TDI Lux. I loved it so we decided to run some numbers... what a bunch of crooks! They made it out like they were losing money on the deal and the manager showed us what our payments were going to be and he said thats a big payment to take on isnt it? My response was not if you can afford it. You could tell this guy had a bad attitude so i told him we would think about it and you could see his disgust as he walked away! We went straight to Volvo and bought the 2013 XC90 R-Design. The people at Volvo were much nicer and gave us an extra $1,000 for the Jetta then the VW dealer would! We love VWs but would NEVER do business with Mitchell VW again!

Joe Carbrera is a topnotch sales consultant. If you are thinking about getting a Volkswagen or any car, just go to Mitchell and find Joe. You wont be disappointed. I walked into Mitchell with my 82 year old father and my 17 year old daughter. All three of us wanted a vehicle that day, but only one of us was prepared to buy one-me, and I was not going to leave without a great deal. Joe and my father quickly struck up a conversation about Subarus and Karmenn Ghias. Joe had to maneuver between my father trying to fanagle a Subaru trade for himself as we looked over possible preowned Volkswagens intended for my daughter but maybe for me instead. A novice sales consultant would have not been able to juggle three generations of possible sales all at once and all morning long, but Joe moved with skill, good humor, and lots of patience. We test drove vehicles for about two hours until I thought I was sure. And then my daughter started eyeing the rest of the lot. "How about this one, its a pretty color," she said. Joe rolled with it showing no signs of fatigue, grabbed the keys, paperwork and plate while maintaining professionalism. I ended up buying that car, a very pretty 2012 Passat, only because he made the effort to get me the best deal he could and, of course, because the car drives like dream. In the end, my daughter and I get to share an awesome car and my father is planning to go back for that Subaru trade in. Everybodys happy. Joe made it all happen. Hes the best!!

First time buyer from Mitchell, and my first new car. I was in the area, and stopped by to look at a pre-owned Golf TDI that was on their website. It sold 1/2 hour before I arrived, but I was invited to test drive a new one. Scott and Aaron chatted with me for awhile, and gave me an aggressive first price on an outgoing 2014 Golf TDI on the lot. I wanted to think about it, price out the cost of ownership, etc. Aaron called periodically, about once per week, informing me of the current VW offer, and informing me of the fact that they received a Golf TDI in a color that I liked more. After thinking for a few weeks, I went back and purchased the car. The contract process with Joe was slow-paced (in a good way) and thorough. At all times, I thought the Mitchell team was honest and proactive, but not pushy. I also took the car for its initial one-month checkup (covered by VW), and was pleased by my experience with Larry and the service department. Also, many dealers do not want take a risk when it comes to stocking a variety of cars. In contrast, Mitchell had 3 14 Golf TDIs with manual transmissions on the lot as I shopped. Unfortunately, a diesel hatchback with a manual transmission is not popular in the US market. Still, I had the basic car I wanted, in a choice of colors, right there on the Mitchell lot. I give them a lot of credit for stocking cars with a variety of colors, transmissions, and engines. I could see the same trend in their Jetta/Passat/Beetle stock.

Dont go to Mitchell VW in Canton, CT to buy your VW!!! My wife and I went there to inquire on a new 2012 Jetta. Once we selected the one we like, I mentioned to the sale rep to just give me your bottom line price. We had other commitments throughout the day and didnt wanted to waste time w/ the back and forth w/ the so call deal maker manager. Once he came back and gave us the sales pitch, he then presented the bottom line number which was a thousand off sticker. He asked us what we thought and we were honest and said the number didnt look appealing. He said thanks you and have a good day w/ a angry tone as he walked away. His manager came over to ask us why we were leaving and we stated that the discount wasnt appealing. He proceed to say to us "well folks I would suggest that you go to a chevy dealership if you were looking for an entry level car." We laughed and said we arent looking for a base model but at the same time we dont want to over pay. Worst customer service ever and who is to blame is the so called manager. His actions will lead the way how his team will do business. Come to find out later from other surrounding dealerships, that they sold cars to folks who left Mitchell because of the same arrogant situation we went through. Unfortunately for them, they didnt get our business but the another dealership did. Thanks Hoffman Audi Dealership for the A4!!!

My Husband and I had the pleasure of working with Brendan Meyers from start to finish. He was incredibly knowledgeable about each of the vehicles available and was able to answer each of our questions during the buying process. And trust me, I had many questions. If I had a question about even a minor detail of an electronic feature, not only was he able to answer the question accurately and quickly without referring to the written materials, but he was able to demonstrate the feature as well. It was almost as if Brendan owned one of these cars himself! This helped us to immediately feel right at home in our Tiguan. What was even more remarkable, is that we didnt feel neglected as soon as we committed to purchasing the vehicle and Brendan continued to communicate closely with us in the days following our initial visit. Brendan is a wonderful young salesperson, operating with an ease and level of professionalism that we were hard pressed to find in other sales people at other dealerships with 20 years of experience. We are recommending Brendan and Mitchell VW to all of our interested friends!
