Sephora used to be my happy place. I should say that it still is, just not this location. And it wasnt like this when I first moved here. Im not from anywhere this small so I approach the culture of the makeup industry differently than most Ive met here. I could easily spend an hour or two at a time just walking around and swatching, comparing, or otherwise playing with products (on my arm/hand! I am not brave or gross enough to put testers directly on my face lol). A key part of the experience is always the at least moderately knowledgable staff. This sephora location does not have those. They obviously spend their free time on and got their makeup education from YouTube and instagram. I am going to school to be an esthitician, have assisted professional artists, and I have studied makeup for a good 8 years now on my own through books, events, professional classes, etc. And so I do not consider myself an expert but I would like to think I can recognize when someone is floating the water and when they can actually swim in terms of makeup and application. When I go in I am looking more for someone to talk with about the product and its performance, bounce ideas, etc. Not just someone to tell me whats hot right now. I dont expect master artists, just people who know their stuff. The last couple of time I went in I was extremely uncomfortable. I couldnt find one staff whos "contour" (a dark line that went against their bone structure and down to their lip) couldnt be seen from across the room. Plenty of glitter and too-light concealer on half the face that aged them though. I dont mean to address their appearance but how you present your skills starts with yourself and I turned down an offer for a makeover there for my birthday (one of my favorite things) because of things like that. When I asked for product suggestions I was led to some YouTube guru favorites that did not match what I was looking for multiple times. I was scared to ask for mascara suggestions last time and didnt even bother looking around I was so disheartened. Bottom line is they have GOT to address hiring practices and who they screen as capable.

I will never visit this store again. The employees are uninterested in working here and uneducated about the products they are selling. They also cannot help you find the right foundation. The salesgirl used a tool that takes pictures of your skin and selects a brand and shade, and it picked a foundation that made me look sickly pale and washed out. The salesgirl made some other suggetions, but they looked equally pale and awful once she applied them. She relies on the tool rather than learning anything about makeup. She and the other girl working seemed more interested in gossiping and talking to each other about their lives than helping the customers in the store.

This store has the best girls and its a shame that because of a terrible manager they grow to hate coming to work. If there was better leadership there would be a better client experience. You would think that after a Colorado Springs SIJCP hated the manager that the company would have gettwn the hint that shes terrible. So many customers have chosen to go elsewhere because of her as well as some of the best employees. Anybody who works under her grows to hate their job which is the saddest thing.

I will never shop at this location again. Besides a selected few most of the employees are incredibly uneducated on Products. I asked an employee (who ive seen a few times before my final visit in store) if they carried the Marc Jacobs line, She said Im not quite sure Ill have to ask? The store is smaller than my childs bedroom how do you not know what Beauty lines are carried!? Bottom-line these employees are not properly trained or educated on products. I would not recommend this location.

the females that work in this store are RUDE and UNEDUCATED. i went in looking for a bronzer, i have super white skin and need something with a blue undertone rather than a red undertone...well the chick who was helping me had no clue what kind of product i needed, and the chick she asked to assist her told her "oh, i have brown skin, i wouldnt know, i dont have that problem" and walked away. SUPER POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, IF I COULD GIVE THEM A 0 I WOULD!!!

Great place for a huge variety and for finding obscure makeup/beauty products. If you sign up for a membership card it keeps track of your purchases that earn you points to spend in the store and they give you a free goody bag on your birthday that has some awesome stuff. Since most makeup is expensive they have sample sizes for some of their products and Sephoras own personal line of cosmetics is less expensive but still a vast variety.

I love this Sephora location. I find that the girls are very knowledgeable and the staff is awesome. I have been helped with the greatest customer service at this location and they try so hard to please everyone which as we all know is impossible. The staff awesome and should not be criticized over their appearance when they work incredibly hard to show their own talents. I love this Sephora.

The cashier forgot to hand me back my drivers license and by the time I even noticed the mall was closed. (I was signing up for a jcpenny card to get extra samples) Went back in the next day and asked one of the workers for my license and she was being super rude and made it seem like it was MY FAULT that the cashier didnt hand it back to me. Wonderful products but awful customer service.

Very poor customer service. Called in advance and was told to come in, so they were expecting me. When I got into the store one lady was real rude and just told me to look around, when I need help to call her. Walked around the store for about 20 Minutes before she checked on me again, and I was the ONLY customer in the store!
