Today I visited this store for the first time. I love to shop resale both for myself and for great items that I can sell on Ebay I also sell to several area resale stores. I have been selling on Ebay for quite some time and consider myself to be an expert in brands and styles. So imagine my surprise when I took a buy into this store with designer items and labels such as talbots, Ann Taylor, Chicos and designer items like Adriano Goldsmeid, all current labels. I did not expect them to buy all of my items most resale stores do not buy everything but I did expect them to buy at least a basket full as I had many items that are great labels in great condition. Honestly I was absolutely shocked when they called me up and stated that they were passing on everything because it was damaged or old. So I thought I will come home and just re-look everything just to make sure. I see some items were a bit over two years and a few had stains I had missed, understandable. What I do not understand is the items that were in great condition with current labels even some brand new with the tags! Basically I have walked away feeling like they looked at me and judged me for some unknown reason and decided we are not taking any of this ladies clothes. I almost think they thought I was a thief or something because I thrift at Goodwill and find amazing items buy them at half price and then resell them to make money. In short it was a very uncomfortable experience and I will never return to this store to shop or sell.

I shopped here several times and then finally asked about their buy back program. They told me that they buy Items that are clean, in style, and in great condition. They also said theyre accepting all seasons of clothing so I went home and got together all the clothes that I thought would be "acceptable" for a higher end "resale shop" - INCLUDING some shirts I bought there on my 1st trip (less than a year ago). When I dropped my bucket off, they said they were about a week out to go through things (but ironically their website says "...we pay you CASH On-the-Spot...we are different in that we pay you immediately for all of the items that we accept."). They texted me the very next day stating "The items you dropped off to sell have been processed". When I went into the store, to my surprise, they didnt want a single thing...not even the shirts I bought there last year. Did you have second thoughts on the stuff you sold to me or something? Ridiculous. I will never go back to this store and I have informed the 12 co-workers, who I referred there, of my experience. Nice business model ladies!

Just beware that they take nothing older than two years, regardless of whether it is a classic cut or style and if its in good condition. They bought nothing from me, even with brands like The Limited and Banana Republic. All that would have been fine if the staff were nice. I have been in ACTUAL designer stores, dressed more casually, and felt less judged. Im aware I look younger than I am, but they simply kept referring us to Platos Closet (who doesnt take professional wear). They were incredibly snobbish and their tones bordered on flat out rude. And if youre planning on shopping, theyre overpriced considering that theyre a consignment store. Overall, both my mom and I had a very bad taste in our mouths by the time we left; we wont be returning to buy or sell.

Hmmm, it appears that some of you think that the Clothes Mentor is obligated to buy clothes that you bring in... They are by no means obligated to buy anything from you. It is simply a business decision. Perhaps the store is low on business revenue and is looking to do more sales than purchases at the time you bring your product in? I purchased clothes for my girlfriend there and she loved them. With the exception of one shirt but I did not feel I needed to return it because I got such a good price. I feel sorry for the owners of the store after reading these reviews. If you are on a budget this store is fantastic.

Every time I try to sell anything to this place they tell me that it its too worn so they cant buy it yet on a regular basis when Im in this store I constantly find things that are dirty, stained, falling apart, not to mention two of the items that I just took to sell to them I just bought from them and they said they were to worn. If youre looking for a good place to sell your used items take them to Buffalo exchange downtown they are very nice and extremely friendly and have great customer service and tons to choose from.

Employees act like its a high end store... reminder: its used clothes. Had a bad experience when my clothes were donated, and store never got in touch with me to come pick them back up. Theyre also not consistent... they tell you they wont accept your clothing because its outdated or worn, yet their store is full of those kind of items.

I did a test at this store and took in several things that I had bought there not to long ago and the ladies informed me that the items were to old or worn. Very surprised that I was told that. This is the second time I have done this. . There clothes can be expensive for being second hand. Will never go back.

Rude, only take womens clothes, and never text you what your clothes are worth, only that theyve been reviewed. I ended up just donating my clothes and never finding out if I could have gotten paid. And their clothes are still priced super high. What the hell

I appreciate the staff and the items purchased here. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you get a fitting room. I have even had the sales lady ask if she can be of assistance to complement a jacket I liked. The staff are very friendly here.

I just had a WONDERFUL experience here. The staff was super friendly/helpful and I left with 10 pieces of really nice maternity clothing for less than $100. I really couldnt ask for a better experience. Thank you!
