I would not recommend anyone visiting this store. Ever. I am very disappointed with this locations service and just overall appeal. The store is not kept up very well, even when it has just been opened you can tell they did not make any changes in attempting to clean up the night before. The store is completely understaffed and you are always waiting in line forever. Some times of the day (like right at open) are a little bit slower and thats when they seem to have more employees working. However later in the day it seems the number of employees diminished while the number of customers has multiplied exponentially. The employees I have encountered also gave some of the worst customer service Ive had. They were rude and I almost walked away without buying anything because of it. I will honestly never go back to this location. I would much rather visit a smaller or farther location and have better services and experiences than come near this place. I work in retail and the food service industry and understand what its like to be tight on staff or to have a bad day, but it seems there is never enough staff or good attitudes in this store. Atrocious. This store does not even deserve one star.

I must echo other reviewers and say this location is severely understaffed. 30 minute wait at the cutting table, if the person I was doing the tailoring for hadnt insisted on this location due to proximity to her home I would never have purchased fabric here. The checkout lines are typically pretty long as well. One checker trying to work through a line 20 people deep. The only reason I may choose to go to this location is that they seem to have the broadest selection of knitting needles and crochet hooks and other needle craft accouterments. Sadly, the location I prefer, that isnt obscenely understaffed, has a fairly limited selection - like 3 sizes of DPN last time I was there. So I am stuck with waiting for an Amazon delivery (which I often choose over going here) or arduously fording Park Meadows traffic only to spend 3 minutes grabbing the equipment I need then 30 minutes standing around waiting to pay.

Started shopping at this store when I moved to HR. Tolerated it for years (long lines, underknowledged, understaffed) because Mad Greens was next door (love Mad Greens, but that is another review). They finally lost a customer today when I found out they will no longer carry Boye crochet needles or thread crochet needles because (allegedly) nobody buys them (interesting, as I spoke with several other customers wandering the yarn aisles looking for the same brand of crochet needle). Had to explain to a couple of workers there the difference between Boye hooks and Bates hooks, and how thread crochet hook sizing works. I may try another Joann store that is a further drive, or I may just start checking out Hobby Lobby (closed on Sunday) or Michaels, but I wont set foot in this particular store again. Which is a shame for them, as crocheting is not only my hobby, it is my business.

I come here when Im too lazy to go downtown to a fabric specialty store like colorado fabrics or wait for a fabric order to get to me from online. They have an ok selection and seem to cater more to quilters and crafters than carry specialty fashion fabrics like chambray (although it seems they have been getting better at this). I get really confused with how they organize their fashion fabric and its always moving around so I often need to ask someone for help. The staff is very helpful and really wants to help you make your project succeed. They seem to be short staffed a lot of the time with only 1 or 2 cutters at the fabric cutting table with a long line of people waiting. Same thing at the cash registers. Overall not a bad place to go if you need something quick like needles, scissors, some muslin, etc.

I handed the clerk a $20 bill and she set it on the counter as I ran to grab a receipt in my car I come back and the entire counter is cleaned and the money was gone. I knew I didnt grab the money. I was paying for my items, the cashier AND MANAGER were like "looks like you lost $20 that sucks," and did nothing. I have terminal cancer and work with rescue animals so I dont make a lot of money and had been saving up to get a few items I really wanted. I was so upset. They refused to help and were rude and told me to look through my things again. I will never ever return to this Joannes ever again

This store is horrific. Customer service is terrible, slow, and not helpful in anyway. Their fabric is rarely in one piece making larger projects impossible with their selection. The only thing youll accomplish here is waiting in one line for 20 mins, just to be sent to another line for another 20 mins, and possible a 3rd line after that. Clear your schedule and dont expect to get anything in return for your time. (Standing in line #2 out of 3 to return their product as I write this with plenty of time as I wait)

My first trip to this location and Im sad to say I have to echo all the other bad reviews. I can take understaffed, but its really unimpressive to hear the woman calling out numbers at the fabric cutting counter say a few choice words over the intercom just because people arent coming up fast enough. Very unimpressive. The store was super disorganized and I left without buying anything.

This store is severely understaffed. Everytime I am here I wait at least 10 minutes to check out. This doesnt include the possible half hour it may take to get fabric cut. There is no running in to pick something up quickly here. The selection is great and the customer service good, but the wait time is so terrible I avoid this location at all costs.

Always known to have good deals on fabric and other crafting materials. The staff at this location are very kind and know their trade very well. The only thing holding this store from a perfect score would be the lack of employees per shift. Myself and other customers had to weight ~20 minutes just to check out with the single cashier.

Im not a sewing snob or anything, but do dabble in the occasional project. I went in mid day, got excellent advice/service from the sewing machine people, and had a fast and painless checkout. The place was clean, pleasant, and had everything I could ever need for home projects of the kind that cater to this type of store.

They have all the supplies you need for crafting and sewing. But the store is so understaffed it is not worth ones time to go there! It is not unusual to have 12 to 15 people waiting in line with one checker. The fabric cutting table is worse. I will never go in that store again. Betty

There are many, many misplaced bolts and bolts haphazardly thrown on top of other bolts. This store has more customers than a skeleton staff can handle, so long wait times at the cut table and cash register. The staff is friendly and they do what they can with the rushes of customers.

We native americans purchse lots of different color ribbon, satin, and other fabrics as well. Area tribes all came to JoAnns for our supplies for years. Even our men folk know where buy ribbon. Sadly after consolidation of theTopeka stores this is no longer true. Why? Dismayed.
