Listen, if youre 90 years old and have all day to pick out a new hummingbird feeder, then this is the perfect place for you. However, if youre looking to get on with your day, this might not be a good fit. There are plenty of employees milling around, but finding one who can actually help you is near impossible. A lot of things dont have prices, so youd think that theyd equip the team members with scanners to answer the inevitable "how much does this cost?" questions. Nope. Instead of a scanner, these people have been thoroughly trained to respond with a blank stare. Maybe everyone who shops there is so rich, they dont worry about how much things cost (although from the looks of them, this is certainly NOT the case). Anyhow, once youve become so frustrated that you just grab it and decide to get the F out of there, you come to the checkout. Believe me, the less said about that ordeal, the better. I will offer this "Pro-Tip". Look for the person who looks the least "totally lost". Theyre all totally lost, but to varying degrees. Why you would put someone on a register who has no idea how to run one. Part of the problem is the lack of pricing, so half the people in line are just trying to figure out how much things cost. The other half want to know which particular hummingbird feeder is preferred by our local variety. Then there was me. I just wanted the F outta there. One extra star for actually having vegetables to plant (HD on Hamilton had zero) and they had prices!

I need to find the replacement parts to fix a leak in the bathroom. The Orchard Supply Hardware store is the one to go to, because this is the where you could find staff to ask questions. The people there would look at my digital picture, ask a single question (whether it is copper or steel) and pick the right part. Compared with HomeDepot, the staff at Orchard Supply Hardware saves you time and effort because in many cases, you couldnt afford to go back to the store again if the part is not right. Also, Orchard Supply Hardware store often has coupon and runs sales (no tax). It is not a huge store but the right size to get what I would need. This is great neighborhood store.

I found this store because the OSH by my house closed, and Im actually glad that happened. This store is very special. The people here are making a difference. Everyone I encountered was very helpful and I felt like I was surrounded by shopping shepherds instead of the usual big box experience of figuring everything out myself or walking miles to find someone or wait for them to show up. I couldnt have had a better experience. Before tonight, Id go to Home Depot or Lowes or OSH Santa Clara because they are all about the same. No more. This store has earned my trust and my business. All of it. And that should be recognized and rewarded.

As opposed to most warehouse/hardware type stores, this OSH has for years has had most excellent customer service. Home Depots employees seem to be looking for pigeons as they walk towards you on the same aisle trying to avoid eye contact. Lowes is much better than HD, but for my area this OSH is where I got to get the correct products and help in many instances. There is a long time employee named Ken who works in the electrical/gardening side of the store that is one of the most knowledgeable retail persons I have ever run into. He needs some recognition or more money! You need help, go to this OSH and you will get it.

the only way for OSH to thrive against the big box competitors is to provide the service the big boxes wont There are two salespeople at the Prospect Rd. store who provide the kind of service that keeps people like me shopping at OSH. There are two.employees at OSH that exemplify good service. One is John in gardening and the other is Tina who was working in customer service when I shopped. I dont have last names. Cudos tho both

Horrible experience at the register. Ive been shopping here for 25 years and know many by first name and more than half the staff working today will vouch for me yet this guy Jan didnt care that Ive been a regular customer for 25 years when he refused my check for $13.35 that Im on my Moms checking account for. This guy should not be interfacing with customers since most all employees are super friendly.

I shop at Orchard Supply Hardware because they always have what I need. That said, trying to find an employee at this store to help you, takes forever. When you do get an employee, they do know what they are talking about. And no matter what time I shop here the lines for check out are very long.

A Big problem with a storage shed I purchased 3 years ago was completely resolved at OSH Prospect road. A Big Big thank you to Paul, Steve, and Juan for taking the time and lengthy steps to resolve the issue. OSH really does put customers first and really do have the BEST customer service.

Its the local neighborhood hardware store and if they not a home depot so that get some stars. The cashiers are old geriatrics who are in slow motion and cause long lines to backup and are downright rude. Theres not really any other option around tho if you need a quick part/tool.

I prefer this store over the others I have visited. Its very practical, not too cutesy. LatASHsome other OSH stores have moved toward the cute garden and household stuff, as opposed to the practical hardware stuff. The cute stuff is fine, I just want to find the hardware!

Well they didnt have everything I wanted but they do have more of the obscure items that the big orange store does not have. The greeter directed us to the right isle and the sales person looked hard for the parts we needed. Overall a well stocked store with helpful staff.

Always have a great experience at OSH. They now carry a new product called Weatherwash which instantly ages wood to give the old barnwood grey look, it works great. Good review!
