Greatly Improved! There are lots of poor service reviews on this store, and I tend to agree with most of them, but they seem to have turned things around in the past few months. Staff has became more proactive in reaching out, and are a lot of thorough than before. Over this past weekend, one of their managers, Cliff, spent a good 15 minutes with us picking out the right grill. In the past couple days, they were also exceptionally helpful in helping us over the phone in placing a complicated order for our landscaping project. I am a business professional, so my service expectation is pretty high already, but this HD has earned my business.

Still marginal at best. While the service has improved, I still find store associates walking by me when I obviously need help. If you corner them, they are helpful. Still this store is so poorly stocked that often I need to go to East Palo Alto or Foster City to get items I need that should be on the shelf here. That has been the case for everything from fluorescent bulbs to driveway patch!!! In the 10+ years I have been shopping at this Home Depot (my neighborhood store), it has never really changed much. All the bad review are justified. Lowes is missing a HUGE opportunity in this area.

I have been to many HDs. This one, unfortunately, is the closest to my home. Absolutely terrible customer service, awful inventory control. Items are often out of stock, unorganized. Service staff hide from customers. They never have enough cashiers, and rely too much on self service terminals that dont always work well. Orchard, in Foster City, while more expensive, is much cleaner, better organized, and the staff care about helping customers

We wanted to get a window ordered & installed by this Home Depot and it was an absolute nightmare. We had to visit Rich (in Millworks) several times to keep prodding on the status and he gave every excuse possible between the window manufacturer to their window installer being unresponsive. Things were only marginally better as we escalated up the chain. Better to go straight to the Foster City store on Chess Dr and avoid this one!!!

A few years back the San Carlos Home Depot featured inventory, cleanliness, organization, and helpfulness, but no more. As of mid-2009, its a mess of all kinds, with no pride whatsoever. The outside looks like a daylabor camp. The "background music" is thug-rap noise. The broken/dirty/disorganized merchandise is mish-mashed onto the shelves. What a debacle and a travesty. Thank goodness theres still Lowes.

Home depot isnt known for customer service, so if youre looking for help with something try Osh. Youll also pay more there. Ive had about 50/50 experience finding help locating or buying things here. They do have great selection and self checkout is usually really easy. Return lines are super long! Im actually giving an extra star because I love the permanent taco truck out front! Breakfast burritos all day!

It infuriates me when I go there for a common part and they dont have it or its tucked in the back and faced up with whatever is next to it for WEEKS!! Com-on a 1/2" nipple!.. BUT Ive Been going there since they opened so Its mostly out of habit and I like Greg down at the lumber check out. He always acknowledges me with a good morning/afternoon Dan every time ... Yeah Ill probably never stop shopping there

One of the worst customer services I have ever seen. It seems that nobody in charge. When you want to rent a tool or help with fork, there often more than 30min wait time. You ask question from associates and the answer is "I dont work in this department" too often. The do not bother to listen or call for someone. Very poor service

Está bien darle trabajo apersonas de la tercera edad pero nos asen esperar para pagar o para ayudarnos a encontrar algo y perdemos mucho tiempo por la lentitud

As much as I like and shop at the Home Depot, their cabinet and kitchen counter department can use some help. There is,very often, no one there to help you. When there is, they are swamped with customers asking questions and for help. Same thing when you make an appointment.

Muy buena tienda para encontrar productos de carpintería y bricolaje en general. Personal muy amable y servicial.

This Home Depot is a hit and miss. Primarily a miss. Customer service is lacking. Associates are often standing outside the store smoking and seem to spend most their time doing this. The store is filthy and inventory is a mess.

Employees are all unhelpful. They can point towards the right aisle but clearly are beyond their depth as soon as you ask about specifics. I had three people today not be able to tell me where to get a screw hook to use for a swing

Nicer people than most Home Depots Ive been to. TheLittle hot dog place outside has friendly people and serves a wicked hot link!!! I added some of their freshly roasted serrano chilis and OH WHAT A FEELING!!!!!!

The employees were rude or apathetic on multiple occasions during just one visit. They also seemed to be understaffed as we had to wait about 20 minutes for someone to cut some lumber despite multiple pages.

Id rather go to lowes there are strange men standing around the parking lot. Some begging with signs holding a baby. I complained but they did not seem to care. Take your business someplace else.

Good luck finding prices on plants or anyone to help you in the garden department. And there are never enough registers open -- anywhere in the store. Even self-checkout is a mess.

I liked it here. Its the selection youd hope for a convenient location. Docking a star for the service counter. Not enough people running that section of the store

It was very, very bad . Cashier could not identify reebar cost ,. We waited 10 minutes and then he cancelled whole transaction from scratch and restarted.

Home Depots are pretty much all the same. Hard to find stuff, not enough staff, but they do have everything and the prices are generally reasonable.

I had a hard time finding a Torx set here which I would expect them to have. Service is a crapshoot, it all depends on which employee helps you.

Today, awful. Seems understaffed to the extreme. This rates only one star, in response to the cashier who tried to get help multiple times

Pretty good selection and I found the unique allen key I needed. Every time I looked for an associate it looked like they ran away.

Good for general needs, if you want large quantities or a better selection, try the East Palo Alto store.
