Poor poor cycle gear, such a victim of online shopping but still manages to stay afloat. I would give them 3 stars but feel bad not supporting a moto shop so they get 4. Cycle gear used to carry all the top brands, with a lot of variety. Of course they could not keep it up with online retailers offering more selection at lower cost. What most people do nowadays is try a helmet on at the store to see what brand/size they want, and then buy it online. Really cant blame people for trying to save money...its not their fault its cheaper elsewhere. Today, Cycle Gear carries mostly 2 in-house brands: Built and Sedici. If you go on BARF youll see hugely controversial threads on how they either suck or are a good investment for n00b riders. I would have to agree that they kinda suck, but Im really appreciative that this store offers what they do at such a cheap price. Most new riders are idiots who dont understand the need for good gear. The fact that they can offer decent (kinda shitty) gear for such a low price with a great return policy is a great service to the sport. Would I shop there? Not for anything besides consumables (oil, cleaners, et cet...). But I do wish them the best and hope that they stay in business.

I love this place. The staff are very helpful and friendly...I just wish there were more of them, hence 4 instead of 5 stars. They really do go out of their way to help. For instance I just stopped by to get a Bluetooth kit for my helmet, and the guy (didnt get his name) was very informative about the options and how they work. He even installed it in my helmet, which I totally did not expect but was very grateful for. And I love my awesome Sena Kit BTW. But, such great service can mean you wait a pretty long time to get help or be rung up if they are busy. Im also not a fan of the Bilt helmets and wearable gear they sell, which are kinda cheap. I bought a Bilt helmet for $180 with an integrated Bluetooth system, and it suuucks. Terrible wind noise, lousy sound, visor constantly fogs even with antifog treatment applied. Definitely avoid and get a Shark helmet instead. Anyway, please hire more awesome staff Cycle Gear!

Under staffed but the staff is very helpful and not pushy once they look after you. Pretty good selection as well. Went there about noon on a Saturday and had to wait about 5 minutes to get some assistance even though there were only two other customers in the shop. Nate, who was helping me was knowledgeable, took time to explain everything, let me try on different models and brands until I was satisfied. He also asked about my budget and what I wanted overall to start with and didnt recommend items that would have been way over my price range and he didnt try to push other merchandise I want interested in etc. Might be more expensive compared to an online shop but it is great to try on gear for perfect fit and compare quality between brands and models in person. Thanks Nate!

Awesome service. Got a lot of my gear here when I first started riding. Ended up buying one of the house brand helmets, and was not happy with the quality (terribly loud, poor quality materials). Contacted them to explain the situation and they said not a problem, come one in. Got in and while they didnt have the helmet I wanted in stock, they ordered it for me, let me hold onto the old one, and are allowing the exchange once the new one comes in. A+ customer service. Ill definitely be back.

Cycle gear Is way way over priced and the staff is not knowledgeable at all of a lot of their products. No real true motorcycle riders there just some employees that clock in and out. I am though great full for the store Bc when I need some oil or a spark plug or a gas line or tube I go there. Too bad their tires are way to overpriced and they dont change them and balance them anymore but I completely understand why that is!!

Waste of time and money: I bought a new battery for my HD (over $100) which I rarely ride. The battery was causing trouble (discharging too quickly). When I finally decided to take care of it; I called and they told me to stop by. After taking the battery there, they told me the battery was indeed bad; but the 6 months warranty was out and I was SOL.

Awesome manager, staff, and gear. They are quick to order items they dont have in stock and their clearance deals are really good. I was able to pick up an additional motorcycle jacket for a last minute trip a few weeks ago at 75% off. This is my go-to place for motorcycle oil, chain lube, and S100 cleaner as well.

Good selection overall, but the service was abysmal. The first guy didnt know a thing, and the second guy, perhaps the manager, left to take a call and never returned. I have an expensive gear purchase to make, but I wont be making it here. There are other stores in the area that seem to value their customers more.

Very knowledgeable staff. Very friendly. No pressure sales. When everything these days has moved to the web its great to have a local store when you really want to touch and feel a product before spending tons of money. They will price match as well. Cant be beat......

I went here to pick up a motorcycle helmet. The staff was super attentive and open to helping me size a helmet that would fit me well. Plus, theyll also special order merchandise for you directly from the manufacturer. Definitely coming back here.

Wide selection of leathers, helmet, parts/ accessories and very helpful employees. Was in & out in 15 minutes with A* Missile Pants and an Ogio Mach 3 backpack for commuting. The leather pants were cheaper in-store than their price online.

Itd be impossible to get things done without a store like this one. Always staffed, well stocked, and the people there know their stuff. If you ever have to wait in line, its because its no secret this is the place in San Francisco to go.

Terrible selection, especially on boots. Most of the store is Bilt gear with only a tiny smattering of one maybe two brands in any section. Zero customer service

This has been my one and only place for any of my necessities since I started riding. Service is great, might have to wait though. Prices are very reasonable.
