My home mall! I love this mall only because its walking distance to home. Theyve totally redone the look and it proudly stands out from all of the other outdoor Westfield malls in San Diego. PARKING/TRAFFIC: Depending on what day/time you go, parking near the area of your choosing can be a challenge. Luckily there is parking all around the mall. Traffic isnt too bad. Entering in and out is really not a problem. There are several entrances; one along Towne Center Dr, another along La Jolla Village Dr, one on Genesee, and one on Nobel. Because this mall is in the middle of a lot of businesses, I would suggest planning your visits ahead of time to be sure you dont come during the lunch rush hours, which is usually around 10am-1:30pm. LAYOUT: A lot of people can get confused with the way the mall is laid out, and if youve only been here a couple of times, you could still end up a little lost. I imagine from above, UTC is in a weird star shape, (with 5 very deformed legs). Leg 1 ends with a Macys. leg 2 ends with the food court. Leg 3 is the Sports Chalet. Leg 4, a Corner Bakery. Leg 5, a 2-story Nordstroms. I always remember the other stores by remembering these stores. The heart of the star (where the fountain and mini bonfire pit seating area is) is where all the performances, fashion shows, etc happen. PRICES/STORES: Moderately priced; I think theyre JUST touching the tip of the iceberg on some high-end stores (like Tiffany&Co), but theyve got a long way to go. I like the mix. Cheap Forever 21 prices to the priciest Nordstroms. Not too bad. Its not as high-end as Fashion Valley, but its not to the point where it TRIES too hard to be a cookie cutter Fashion Valley. Its its own mall. :) Not as many stores as you would find at Fashion or another Westfield, but its got enough. ;) FOOD COURT: Food selection is okay. Great mix to satisfy almost any type of craving. The seating arrangement (even the chairs/booths themselves) is very high-end. Im surprised Fashion Valley hasnt yet caught on. Impressive mix of food choices served here... From healthy, organic to not-so-healthy foods. Also, Id hate to share this piece of info, but I might as well make it a point to, (in hopes that theyll have similar tables).... Lots of people are catching on that there are tables in the center of the food court with outlets. A great plus if youre trying to find some place to work using your electronics. BONUS: Theres a dog park in back of the food court. Very clean. And following the walkway away from the mall is the secret (and peaceful) pathway that leads to Town Centre Drive. Overall, a really great mall to visit if youre ever in the area.

Most shops are little over priced. Sears is not there anymore. But if you look for high quality and ready to pay the price, its a good place to go. Food court is very good but do not like the attitude of Hollister and Royal India restaurant due to very bad prejudiced treatment based on my physical appearance. Specially Hollister gave me a bitter experience. Once I picked up some items on sale ( bomber jacket and jeans) and an employee of the store have me a Hollister bag to put these garments. I on went to the counter where a lady supervisor was looking after cashier duty. When I reached the counter age scanned the item and she looked at me suspiciously and said these garments cannot be sold at that price. Said to me those were bend new ones ( yes I know that lol and I am paying). She refused to execute the sale and put the garments back and said no discount. When I walked out and checked on Hollister site, the same jacket was $44 and on sale ( reg price was $77). That is a clear prejudiced on physical appearance. Though I got same quality of garments from Sears that same hour. This I wanted to share.

Beautiful, clean, easy to navigate outdoor mall with an upscale flair. Like a downsized Fashion Valley....not as crowded as FV by far. Still have valet parking along with plenty of garage and lot space. Of course its more expensive than...lets say....the El Cajon mall. Why? Because its La Jolla....one shouldnt be surprised. You wont find a Wal-Mart or even Target around here. One should factor in the area before looking for "cheap"....although also because of the area you will get amazing food, fabulous environment that will cater to the smell, sight and touch....as well as a mini (CLEAN!) playground for the kids in front of Macys, a train ride for the children in front of Sears, and seasonal events that are CLEAN, SAFE, and (for the most part) free. Some of the best restaurants (Japengo, Trulucks, Georges at the Cove, etc) in San Diego, the beach, and scenic downtown La Jolla are right around the corner with little to no navigation needed.

I wish I had two more hands to give this place 4 thumbs down. We took the kids here instead of the usual Eureka or Tender Greens. Wanted to try something new at the mall. The food was awful! We had the Short Rib, Lemongrass Chicken, Pineapple Chicken for kids, Cauliflower, Kale Salad. Everything is a small portion so we were excited to find at least one new favorite item within the order. I cant think of anything other than the actual lemonade that was good. And if you want great lemonade just go to hot dogs on a stick. Nothing had any real flavor and taste. You know a place is bad when your young child the following day on the way to school goes "daddy remember the dinner that we had last night that was not very good." I have never heard him say that before.

This is a great mall but for me its somewhere I like to leisure & indulge most of the time. The variety of clothing shops for a college student is very limited because this mall caters more towards those who have more money to spend, which isnt entirely a bad thing. It makes your visit to the mall feel a bit more luxurious. The great thing about this mall is that it offers some really great places such as ArcLight Cinema, Tender Greens, and the newly opened Lemonade restaurant which will make your visit worth it, and whenever you feel tired you can always rest inside one of their comfy pods before, during, or even after your shopping.

Great mall. I live right across the street so its a joke for me to drive to Fashion Valley anymore, but they basically have everything I could want. I am also loving that they are dog friendly. Lots of stores even have dog h2O bowls , dogs can go in most stores. & new dog park! Its tiny but nice for them to have a BRbreak at least! The food options = fabulous Cons: the Macys is not even worth going to compared to fashion val, (but thats a different discussion!) If u are driving its kind of annoying bc you cant drive all the way around in the parking lot. Also parking is not-not bad ;)

Lot of food places especially love the Tender Greens , Corner bakery café and Eureka. Lot of veggie options as well. The children play area is cute but typically crowded in weekends. Arclight is one the best theaters in San Diego, make sure you watch the movie in Wide screen though. Lot of places to walk and shop. We were there every weekend, when we lived in UTC. Even though we moved to PQ we still visit UTC quite often. Oh they have a nice childrens train which runs till 6. No credit cards for that though. so take cash. They have a lot of nice chairs all around to sit and sip a cup of coffee.
