This is a good mall to shop at and i have been for years but today was just awful. As soon as we got there at 1030 we knew we were early but forever 21 opens at 10 so we said decided to go there. Well as soon as we got there the door was locked and it was not open even the door had the hours on it and they were just closed. Sad considering we go there on a Sunday most of the time. Well then we decided to eat at true foods and honestly that was the most thrilling part of the day besides the prices and deals we got. The food was amazing as usual and the music was at a low level so i could hear myself speak. Well after the great lunch we went to Forever 21 and they were open yay. Well after being in there for a minute the music was getting on my nerves because it was so loud i couldnt even speak to my family in there with me. So how am i supposed to enjoy a store I normally go to when i cant even hear myself think lol. Well after that store we went to Macys and the music was super loud also. I understand its the weekend and they play music but so loud i couldnt make a phone call or chat with my family shopping with me is bad. What if you were a senior citizen shopping and the music is so loud you had to leave? Anyways the rest of the trip was normal but honestly I got headache and had to leave. So after 2 stores I was ready to go so was my family. Typically i enjoy this mall but today was not your typical day there.

Parabéns a administração!

If you are looking for upscale shopping in San Diego this is the place- many high end retail stores but mixed with an eclectic assortment of interesting speciality shops, common dept stores such as Pennys and Macys as well as an array of popular shopping destinations- Apple, Microsoft, Legos, Build a Bear, Bath Works to name a few. I love the plaza which contains comfy outdoor furniture to sit on to people watch, rest your feet or just bask in the beautiful San Diego weather. In terms of food there is a good variety of different types of restaurants showcasing assorted cuisines and offering different price points. There is an ample food court as well. Entertainment is provided in a multi plex movie theatre. Parking can be difficult at peak hours but the San Diego trolley system is the best option as there is a transport station at Fashion Valley. And last but not least- in typical San Diego style- pets are abound as they shop alongside their humans.

I hate coming here, but my wife loves it. Fashion Valley has all the high end retailers. Im not into fashion or anything, but many of the major high class brands are here. There is always a diversity of people who come here. Many tourists hit up this place before going back to their country. Fashion Valley Mall is the opposite of Las Americas Premium Outlets down south. I think the food in the food court could be better, but thats probably the cheapest thing here! Parking is ample, youll never have to fight for it like at Carlsbad Outlets. Also, if youre not looking to spend so much money on clothes (like me), then an alternative is to go down the street to Mission Valley mall. Fashion Valley Mall is great if you are going to spend lots of money on clothes. My sister used to work a Sacks 5th Avenue (now closed) and she would sell $10,000 suits!

Any mall complex that houses Haute Couture brands, tech stores and low-end retailers is the mall for me. I wont name many names, but I am disappointed that the only Sephora is the one inside JCPenny. I suppose for an upscale department store makeup brand experience, Nordstrom is the place to go. Not that impressed with Bloomingdales for it being my first time in. It seemed like any other department store. I didnt even feel worthy enough to grace the sidewalk in front of Prada, Cartier, and Hermes yet it was a necessary evil on the way to Cheesecake factory necessary I could stuff my face with the very foods that have ever kept me from being able to wear anything better than Lane Bryant. By the way, if youre a big girl, Southern California hates anyone over a size large, so be prepared to never shop happily ever again.

Fashion Valley is a higher end mall. It has a lot of stores for clothing, jewelry, and other name brand items. Theres a few smaller stores that feature more hand made or "Mom and Pop" kind of items like a soap store, but it still has that higher end feeling. On the cheaper side you have a toy store, decent sized food court, couple of small eateries on the lower levels behind the stairs, and the AMC theater. Overall, not bad to go chill with some friends, grab a bite and see a movie. But the mall isnt always so peaceful. Escalators are constantly breaking, water puddles form all over when it rains, fountains that were once nice center pieces barely run due to water issues, and theres almost always someone soliciting near the food court on the upper and lower levels.

Mostly free parking, decent foods. Though, many things can get pricy. Nice, clean outdoor spaces and friendly employees in the stores, but the sales people outdoors at these two booths kept trying to force me to buy their products (hair serum and clothes ironer) at an outrageous price. Im really disappointed. While I was trying to leave the place, these sales people stopped me, and shamelessly didnt ask me if I wanted to buy their product. Rather, they just kept talking and talking about the product, insisting that I should buy it. Even though I told them I didnt have the money or didnt need it, they still insisted. Honestly, it was disgusting. Wasted 15-20 minutes of my time trying to get away from them. ^^;

If I have to go to a mall during a non major shopping day, I definitely prefer fashion valley. People can be a bit dense in the head when driving through a parking structure, but its tolerable. Sometimes Im not sure if I accidentally drove through a teleporter when entering the garage, and ended up in England, because so many people seem to think they should be driving on the left when going around a corner. If I survive the parking experience, the rest of the mall trip is usually OK. If you have an unfortunate dining experience at the food court, you should definitely use the restroom at Nordstroms, and not at Macys.

I mean...Its an okay mall. Seems to cater to a bit more affluent type. Many of the stores I dont even feel like I meet dress code standards for even just browsing. The parking is usually a bit hectic, but they have plenty if you dont give up and head to the back of the mall that faces the trolley line. It is convenient if you art traveling by trolley though! The theater has a lot of screens so they are usually showing the new stuff and for a longer period of time than most others around. The food court is great and has lots of choices as well as a few restaurants throughout the mall and on the perimeter.
