My family and I have been St Vincents shoppers for almost a decade but, sadly, we have just decided to never return there again as of yesterday. Heres why: #1 - Their prices are LITERALLY the same as retail prices. Furniture and exercise equipment cost HUNDREDS of dollars, mens and womens clothes cost on average between $7 - $30 per piece. #2 - There is almost no negotiation on price. Example: My husband just asked a supervisor about bringing the price down on a $200 VERY USED treadmill. (They sell them BRAND NEW for $200 at Walmart) The supervisor said he could knock off a couple bucks, buy the prices are final. No thanks. #3 - Very rude cashiers. Most of them are older women that seem like they dont want to be there and are irritated to have to ring you up and PLEASE bring them something that lost its tag. They make up a price off the top of their head that is ridiculous - higher than what youd pay at a department store. #4 - No return policy - Goodwill and Salvation Army have a return policy as long as you have the receipt and tag. Not St. Vincents. You buy it, youre stuck with it. Forever. Till death do you part. So before you pay way too much for it, know that youre not dating... Youre getting married. They wont return anything even when its defective and you come in within 24 hours of purchase with receipt and tags. #5 - Poor quality items that dont work or break within 48 hours due to being so worn. St Vincents wants to have it both ways. It wants to be called a charitable organization that has a thrift store with affordable second hand goods but when you walk in, its bad quality, high prices and no refunds. I usually dont expect that much from second hand store because each item only costs a couple of bucks... But St Vincents charges you retail prices. Its a thrift store with an identity crisis. That thrift store thinks its Bloomingdales, and therefore I expect Bloomingdales quality and return policy. Do yourself a favor. Go to Ross, Marshalls, Walmart, Target... Hell, go to Kmart! Just dont go to St. Vincents. Colossal waste of time and money.

I am a thrifter for a living, basically. I peruse thrift stores throughout Los Angeles and beyond for work. Being a stylist and Costumer for the industry in this town, normally first taking on the thrift stores for my treasure hunting. Well, this store was so disappointing; the prices were beyond unreasonable. Obviously someone on their team do not know the worth of brands and designers. Nor, know what real vintage is. Just because it is old, does not make it worth or deemed valued vintage. There is a huge difference between valued vintage and old junk. These prices here are just plain greed, items are donated and they price them more than they are actually worth, and more than other retailers. I understand they are a charity, but borderline greed should not make it acceptable. In addition the line was outrageous to check out, the place has a lot to be desired for, atheistically and cleanliness. I say stick to your other thrift stores, which I will not name because, I prefer to keep my hunting destination a personal treasure for me to enjoy myself. I will just say, this place is shameful with price gauging, all under the guise of charity, and that is unacceptable, and morally wrong.

This place used to have good prices now everything is marked way to high, they sell broken t.v.s for $500 dollars and the picture is all messed up its crazy, their old slow computers are marked way to high, your better off going to craigslist, or buying a new computer. the clothes cost alot now and they mark a price on there items then at the register they will change it right in front of you saying it cost more, yesterday they changed the price 3 times right in front of me it went from $1.99 to $7.99 to. $4.99 from the manager. The manager is a loser. He dosent know any thing and i will make full effort to report him to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) . They should have sold the item what it is tagged not change it 3 times. this isnt the first time this happened to me. Im done with this store. They are way to expensive for a thrift store and should no longer call this store a Thrift store. it should only have a right to be called a Vintage Store. Most of the stuff is crap. They really ruined a good store. Im sure allot of people who have shopped here agree with me. your better of going to TARGET to buy your stuff.

I had the worst experience ever!!!!! It took me hours to find alot of good clothes i liked but some were way way over priced like i know its a good brand but really they go overboard. I finally finished and went to pay and i got this cashier ,older woman, with glasses and i regret ever going to pay with her. First problem she assumed i changed the price of some pieces i had because they were cheap. She continued to tell me these are not the prices assuming i did something too them. The next issue was she wouldnt take my work pay card because it didnt have my name when in previous visits I have used my card there before. I then asked to speak to a manager and he said the same thing, he was on his lunch so he really didnt bother. So i went home empty handed and so angry. So i recommend not to go on her register shell probably accuse you of changing prices and not take your card so WATCH OUT !!

I am a fan of thrift stores. As long as I can donate items to their store or shop for the next costume I can utilize for the next themed party that Im going to attend. They are just like any other thrift store, theyre there to provide an alternate way to buy used clothing or furniture and other items. Its a Catholic based organization. Their prices are pretty moderate. The store is pretty clean and organized. It does have a bit of smell and that is normal when you go to thrift stores. I definitely will stop by again to donate more items.

Easily one of LAs best thrift shops. As of this review, they were receiving brand new and assembled furniture donations from Macys, and had been for several years. I enjoyed discovering the retail price of the fly new desk I purchased after some sleuthing online. And obv they have your usual selection of regular used and donated goods too. Also they have a loading dock and lift to make loading heavy items even easier. They charge more for the brand new stuff than used donations, but it is still a great bargain spot.
