Fingerprints is a large music shop on 4th street in Downtown Long Beach. It is snugged in a building with Berlin Bistro, and mostly consists of new and used CDs, LPs and movies. This store has a great selection, there are plenty of record stores in the area to choose from, but if you are looking for a new release this is the place to go. They also have a plethora of bargain bins for both LPs and CDs which is where I do most of my digging. There is a nice level of quality control, even the records I pick up for a buck are still in decent shape and quite playable. In addition to all your standard music offerings, you can also browse through some books in the back corner. The shop also has its share of trinkets and music related goodies, such as buttons and stickers. The staff is always very friendly, and the shop is spacious so you hardly find yourself in other peoples business (always a problem in smaller record shops!). So if you are a music fan, take a stop down to Fingerprints on 4th. Take a swing into the bistro next door as well and treat yourself to a coffee or light snack, then pop across the street to the new parklet and bathe in the sun!

I love this place! I have been "digging in the crates" here since the mid 90s! I have found limited edition LPs, CDs that were only released overseas, and hard to find posters, movies, and collectible concert T-shirts. You can also listen to used CDs before you buy them. There are several old school discmen set up around the store for you to listen to CDs. This is gem for all music lovers. I live about 40 miles away, and I still find time to visit Fingerprints at least once a month. Frequent live concerts too.

This is a very good place if you hunt for CDs or just want to have a coffee next door. Whats great about Fingerprints is that the staff that works there is really helpful and there is also unique things sold as well like Lps, Vinyls and plenty of other good things like that. this place is mostly for rockers or anybody who enjoys good music. truly this place is a must see if youre a local from the LBC or a tourist whos in need of great music.

Why are the used cds sideways? The new ones have the title of the disc upright while the used ones are sideways. I had to pull out the used ones one by one so I can see what I was looking at. At first I placed the sideways facing used discs upright to help others find what they wanted. After wasting an hour looking through hundreds of garbags cds I just started leaving them scattered all over the place. Hopefully they got the hint.

We go to Fingerprints about every other week and always find great items. Dennis is always helpful and informative. Trades always go well and rejections are always explained. Got Auntie Mame (used) and finally tried to watch it a week later. It didnt play on either the Xbox or bluray player, but they took it back even with no receipt. Anything less than 5 stars is ridiculous.

Selection is so so, both visits staff wasnt very helpful. I asked to see they might possibly have a vinyl after browsing for over an hour. The worker I approached before looking in their system rudely asked had I checked the artist card, obviously I walked around aimlessly looking which is why I approached. Wont be coming here again.

I love this place! I love the fact that theres a real local record shop in the Long Beach area. I would love to spend a full day in here and peruse every record and CD in stock. If you dont find something in stock, speak to the staff there. Theyll be more than glad to order it for you and notify you when its in stock.

This place has a gigantic selection of CDs and vinyl. Its got something for everybody. The staff are really nice and they were happy to help me look for a specific album. The prices are very reasonable as well. Ill definitely be shopping here in the future.

Love this place. I love to pick through the random cheap record selections as gifts. Another great thing are their mystery packs of CDs, DVDs and tapes, which I love to get for my friends. Nice little book area too.
