I appreciate Safeways desire to promote organic and fresh produce while still doing what they do best: offering a wide variety of family-friendly food. But as with other Safeways, I am often discouraged to shop there by the sheer number of people vs. checkers that work there. Sometimes the checkout can be quick and efficient, but most often theres a lengthly line, sometimes stretching into the food aisles, with too few checkers. Is it really that expensive to hire just one more worker for each shift? For a truly different experience, go to Diablo Foods and notice the checkout experience there.

Whats with Safeways? I relocated from Oregon and never had a good experience in a Safeway. Ive been in this one 6 times and had a cashier override every time. Cant the cash registers just check food and get on with it? And why am I made to feel guilty if I dont have a club card? If Im only spending $3, I dont expect a huge savings - im just in a hurry and want to pay for my pack of gum. Whole Foods opens in 2 days thank god.

Five stars are not enough for the staff of the Safeway Meat Department in Lafayette. Yes, the meats are wonderfully prepared as are the other items. However, for me and the birds of Lamorinda, the kindness of the butchers who prepare a packet of beef fat for me to render and use in preparing healthy treats for a variety of birds ..... too many stars to count.

Better now that they have a policy of opening a new checkout if the line at another is longer than 3 people. Better quality produce than trader Joes generally. Also they have a good selection of Organic produce.

Their cashers are rude! Chris cannot count cash, and Hanna cannot operate the stores credit card reader. Instead of they correct their behavior and learn their work necessary skills, they accused customers.

Have you ever ordered a coffee or a Breakfast Samwich. Its painful. Theres no hustle. People can be standing in line a they are obviously not paying attention. Drives me nuts..

Horrible drivers in the parking lot. Park in front of safeway, not next to it as shopping cart wheels will lock up on you. Also, overpriced for a safeway.

Store and selection is small. They have a good variety for a small location but it always takes forever to check out because they dont have enough staff

Its a Safeway, the parking lot can get pretty packed sometimes and it isnt the best design, but the store is usually pretty empty and fast to checkout.
