This place is price gun happy. Way way overpriced recently. They think by looking on eBay is a way of pricing items. Wrong Wrong. EBay is only a haven of items people are buying and reselling, Duh from Goodwill. So my opion to everyone is that you should buy items similar from eBay for cheaper and usually will have a money back guarantee. People online have already tested and cleaned there items prior to sale is what I found out and back there items up. Goodwill will only give store credit to purchase more overpriced items and does not guarantee there merchandise. Read my Rancho Mirage review. There is one lady here at this location always thinking t-shirts with side sems are considered regular shirts and loves charging customers $5.49 and up when they should be only $2.00. Also whats with the constant price checking and taking the items back in the warehouse to reprice something for more than whats was originally tagged and on the floor. I have observed this practice over and over at this location. See if you notice it as well. All I hear over the intercom is PRICE CHECK PRICE CHECK. Goodwill must remember they are a thrift store and not a retail outlet like ROSS, MARSHALLS, or Target and stop comparing you broken and worn items with EBAY.

This store definitely, is deceitful! Bought an electronic item for which they said we have 7 days to return for store credit if it malfunctions. When we took it back due to its malfunctions, they told us we had to pick something at the same time we return it for an item of the same amount to get any kind of remuneration. Before purchasing this item, I even asked the store clerk what kind of return policy they had in case the item didnt work properly. She said they would give store credit. Then I asked if I would be able to use the store credit at other Goodwill stores in the area, and she said, "yes." She thought other stores in the area would accept it. Now they are saying it is Goodwill policy to use the store credit the day you return the item. That was never stated to me at the time of purchase at all! I have shopped Goodwill so much over the years and never have had such treatment in Illinois. In Illinois, they have returned the amount to my credit card. Shame on you Goodwill LaQuinta!

I read that the staff was rude, and boy did I ever experience this myself. Ive called around to local thrift shops looking for something very specific. All other shops were so kind! They either knew off hand if they had the item or happily looked. Not this store! I spoke with 2-people (including the store manager!) and they were both extremely rude! Firmly telling me they were too busy and I would need to come in myself and look. Well you can bet I WILL NOT be selecting this Goodwill, ever! Employees like this should be fired - there are many out there who are jobless and skilled at custmer service who would happily work.

This store was an annual visit for a carload of friends but when I visited here this year, it appears that the quality/quantity of merchandise has diminished. When I first started coming here, it was a goldmine of stuff from household to clothes...not so much any more. And the prices have gone up too. Not sure what is up...but there are other options in the area (Angel View) where I will be visiting in the days ahead. Take a hint Goodwill...upping your prices and unfriendly staff do not a good combo make.

ditto on the rude sales staff. What starts out as a good thing--shopping and spending money at a benevolent org.--ends up as a bad, often insulting, experience. In this particular store they seem to assume youre going to steal something, and watch you like a hawk; then at checkout test your twenty dollar bill by marking on it with their trusty pen that detects counterfeit bills. As for any polite "thank you" from the cashier (Modesta?), you can forget about it. How benevolent!

Goodwill is a great place to shop at lower prices however they are quite High lately they charge way too much and sometimes more than when they were new and I would not buy anything electronic from these places cuz usually doesnt work the place is very clean neat and organized I love shopping there

I love Goodwill stores. Im from the Seattle area and recently moved to the desert. Boy was I disappointed when I walked in to this Goodwill store in La Quinta, which was small with minimal merchandise. I guess Ill have to get used to not having mega stores with oodles of stuff to choose from.
