This Walmart refused to sell me beer because my girlfriend (whose older than me) didnt have her i.d. on her. Weve gone to this store doing the same thing many times before. We go and get our groceries and necessities. Then, if the mood strikes, Ill grab myself a 6 pack of beer. Each time she has had her i.d. on her but has never been asked for it because Im always the one buying. She doesnt drink alcohol at all. Weve never been asked for BOTH of our i.d.s before. I have no problem showing my i.d. but to ask a person thats not buying anything is ridiculous. I asked to speak with a manager and tried to figure out why this particular time we were both being carded and she just told me the same thing that it was the stores policy and they cant sell to me because my girlfriends with me and she doesnt have her i.d. on her, even though she wasnt buying anything. MIND BLOWN. Ive heard some stupid $h1t before but my gosh this is way up there. If I were to be buying for a minor like they obviously suspected, what would stop me from just leaving and coming back by myself and purchasing alcohol from another register? Id be alone so they wouldnt refuse me. Then I could just walk outside and hand it off. I would never do this but just hypothetically speaking it can be done. I get what they are TRYING to do but they are FAILING miserably. They are embarrasing customers by making them look like some sketchy person trying to get kids liquored up in front of all these people and its wrong. They apparently have the right to refuse the sale if they feel suspicious of the person trying to buy the alcohol but tell me this, what makes them think this kind of profiling is ok? Whats going to happen when someone brings up the race card? Then what? I can here it now "oh, so cause Im black/brown I cant buy alcohol here cause colored people are criminals is that what youre sayin?" Lol. Anyway I was so embarrassed I almost left the cart and walked out. It was enough to make me want to never shop here again. This review is just the first step too. Ill be writing a letter as well. Im still playing the scenario in my head. Watching her grab the beer away like were a couple of low life criminals trying to do some shady sh17. It was bs. This so called "policy" needs to change so allow me to get the ball rolling. Hey Walmart, Ill be in touch!

Very rude and bad customer service. I was told by Co workers that with our bonus points, we could get egift cards for Walmart and get visa cards with that. So I went to the Walmart in Galt, when I asked the cashier what I was trying to do, from the beginning he was rude and told me he couldnt do it. I asked him if he could please try it, while he is doing this he is just telling me "I told you its not going to work" (at this point I can already tell he is upset) and telling me he wants to meet the people that has done this before. I still dont understand why he was so upset about it, it wasnt a difficult transition all he had to do was scan and find out if it goes through, I just wanted to see for myself. Well, when I asked him to only charge $100 and I would pay the difference with my ATM he didnt do it and just told me it didnt work. Of course it didnt work because there was not enough funds, so he proceeded to call his manager and make the stupid remark " I told her it doesnt work but she wont take my word for it". To me that is very unprofessional and I think he could have handled it better, all he had to do was do what the customer was asking for, in a courteous and polite way, that would have been nice but he instead decided to be rude and defensive (for no reason because at any point I was rude or demanding). There is a reason I dont shop at Walmart and after this I dont think Im going back. I get points for bonus at work that we can exchange for whatever we want. Good thing I only exchanged $100 and not the whole amount.

The Galt Walmart has extremely bad service, their cashiers have no training. The managers have no clue how bad their cashiers are because they are too busy chatting instead of helping. I needed to put half my purchase on a different card because it was a gift and my sister was paying half. When I asked for $100 on one card she agreed to my request but then proceeded to put the total amount on my card. I tried to correct her 3 different times and she continued to tell me I was wrong and she was right. She locked my credit card up and told me it was declined. I called my credit card company to find out the problem, needless to say it wasnt the card, it was the cashier not knowing how to run a credit card. As Im on the phone my sister attempted to pay her half but the cashier tried to charger an extra $30 because the cashier still didnt know how to do her job. When I get off the phone I look over and see a different cashier laying on my box talking to the manager and I asked for my box the cashier didnt even hear me, he kept laying all over my box/gift. The manager stops talking to him and says," oh she needs this box". I paid for it and told the cashier how she locked up my card and walked away. She didnt care that she inconvenienced me nor did her manager care that her associate wasnt competent. They are severely lacking quality customer service.

its HUGE! Very large store with so many selections its difficult to choose! I love that its open 24 hours. I am a bartender and often dont get off work until 3am. After all the lifting and moving it takes to close the bar, I am never ready for bed right after. That is the time I get most of my shopping done. Not many people in my way aside from the employees and they are always very accomodating and easy to shop around. By the time i finish and get home I am exhausted and fall asleep quickly and easily.

I only dislike the fruits and vegetables they have out. Some or most of the fruit are put out even if their brown amd smushy. I understand the workers are young and sometimes lazy. As a loyal customer of Walmart, i drive to lodi to buy fresh fruits and vegetables at another store. Thats only when the markets are not available thursdays and fridays; only those storea that are close anyhow.

They dont have enough stock of basic things like toilet paper or popular brand soda. It seems that they also run out of bottled water quite fast since the isles are always half stocked. A quick way in and out for one or two things on the self checkouts, but also expect that they ran out of water, certain soda brands and snacks.

I agree with, "the store is clean with wide aisles", BUT - "huge inventory of everything" is very misleading! I have been sadly disappointed multiple times when shopping for specific items only to find that it is another item not available there. Wal Mart usually means convenience to me but this store has been frustrating.
