My experience with AutoNation Honda Fremont was terrible from the start. I got a call from an extremely pushy salesmen, named Kent, which was just the beginning of a series of unprofessional and uncomfortable encounters. After finding out I was looking for a Hatchback Sport Touring, Kent rang me up and rambled for a solid 3-5 minutes on how this car is the only one of its kind in California (stevens creek honda had one at the time of this call) and that if I didnt get down there that same day to place a deposit, it would be unlikely I would be able to get this car. From the get go, I lost interest in the car due to Kents sales technique. I hate being rushed when making such a large purchase, so someone blabbing in my ear that I need this car right now without letting me get a word in shouldve been a red flag about going to the dealership. I didnt go in to place a deposit, but the following day I had heard the car was delivered. So I go in to check the car out. Took a test drive with a great sales rep by the name of Tyler. Things were going great while Tyler was helping us out. He was informative about the car and what he didnt know, he soon found out and got back to me with the right information. After going inside and sitting down with Tyler, I let him know I was interested in taking the car home today if it met the price I was looking for. He left to speak with his managers. I should mention that at this same time, my parents were up north in Arcata looking at the exact same car that I had found at this dealership. When Tyler returned, he returned with Kent who recognized my name from the previous day. He sat down, Tyler was sent away, and I was left to deal with Kent. I told him the price Id be willing to pay and was met with " This car will not go lower. If you dont buy this car right now, I have a line of people ready to buy it. This is a one of a kind car. You wont find another one anywhere in California." After letting him know that my parents were negotiating for the same model in Arcata, he flat out told me he wouldnt go any lower then left abruptly. I got a price $700 lower than at Fremont Honda and when I expressed this to Kent, he snatched the credit loan application and offer letter from the desk." You need to go now and get that car in Arcata. I dont want to waste your time but if hes giving you that price, you need to leave now and get it," he said as he started walking away from us. This kind of unprofessionalism is really the reason why folks dread buying cars. Kent was extremely pushy from my first encounter with him. He made me feel rushed and uncomfortable and if he had just been a bit more polite and flexible he wouldve had a sale in the bag. Im extremely happy that I did not give Fremont Honda my business. My business went to a friendly bunch at Mid City Motor World (Thanks Hugo!)

well, all i have to say is that if you had a complaint, all you could do was waste your time. the previous service manager BURT GALLEGOS was a total jerk. ive had several complaints about the service (or lack of), but it all ends up in his hands. i had a complaint about him personally and it still ended up with HIM. no matter if you had a survey call or even a mailer, it always ended up with him, so it didnt matter, it was the fox watching the coop. well, he has since moved on. service from a few folks seem to be a bit better as there are a couple of new folks now. albeit, not much. i feel bad for the people in El Cerrito as that is where that A$$-wipe Burt is currently managing and not taking care of the customers. he was and is a total jerk. i give it a 1 star for when Burt was there, but ill have it as a 2 star for now since my last experience (without Burt) was better. i commute 880 so i have a few options with regards to where i take my car, San Leandro, Hayward, Fremont. i choose fremont cuz its close to work, but i think San Leandro has the nicest people. of course, when youre charged $$ to fix something, youre not always happy to hear the news, but at least they gouge you in a nice manner as opposed to Burt who doesnt give a crap. for those of you who are not adept to all the "services" that need to be done with each code, google it and sometimes you can actually do a few of the simple things yourself. ie. the cabin filter. $25 to buy, 5 min to install for something they charge you $60 or so to do. if you know someone who has a garage, the CVT fluid is pretty simple too. you buy from these guys at like $8/quart and its just drain and fill. just like oil change. find out how much other dealerships are charging and they will sometimes match the prices. these other places have internet coupons for like 15% or some $$ amount off. all i remember was justin (who was new and hadnt been mind melted yet) was pretty nice in what i was looking for when i showed up. at least i didnt have a complaint that i had to elevate which wouldnt went nowhere in the first place.

We originally went to Anderson Palo Alto in hopes of getting a good deal on a 2015 or 2016 new Civic or Accord. Unfortunately, the customer service wasnt great AT ALL. We had an appointment at 1:30 in which our assigned salesperson handed us off to a different salesperson because he wanted to finish his deal first, and that second salesperson ended up handing us off to a third salesperson because he had an appointment that ended up coming earlier than their assigned time. By that time, my family and I were already disappointed in the service there - we understand that we went during a busy time (after Christmas sales), but to be rudely handed off unexpectedly, and left outside TWICE for at least 5 minutes each time while they were figuring out which salesperson to throw at us next, was NOT what we expected. After deciding on a car that I fell in love with, the salesperson wouldnt even budge to help us strike ANY type of deal on a new 2016 Honda Civic EX. On top of that, he was not personable at all so we ended up leaving without a sale. After we decided to go to AutoNation Honda Fremont since we know they are a bigger dealership and would hope they would be much more personable to talk with. The moment we parked there was a salesperson who enthusiastically welcomed us before we even got to the front door. Ace is your go-to guy if you want someone who is actually willing to work with you and do his best to make a good deal that is conducive to both you and him. He listened to our previous story at Anderson Palo Alto and immediately he already offered to beat out that dealership. Though we understood it would be harder to deal a popular brand new 2016 model, he was still very understanding with our budget and we ended up working out a deal that made us all happy in the end. I would definitely recommend going to this dealership again and specifically asking for ACE. The finance manager, David Bayanzay, was also very kind and generous and helped us work out a great care package. Love it!
