Seriously Jason, give us a break. I go to a "triangle" of Hobby Stores in the area, including Hobbytown; the others being Pegasus in Montclair and Hobby People in Chino. Corona Hobbytown has the most uneven service of any store around, hobby or not. There is a middle-aged gent that used to be there alot, I dont know if he is the owner. He is the ONLY one that has given me consistently good service. I bought a TON of Aerobird items there and Parkzone items, and misc. hobby supplies. When I first started going there, there was a middle-aged woman there that acted like she was doing me a favor serving me, and would consistently bag on her employees. I took that she was a manager or maybe an owner. I almost stopped going there because of her. Then I started dealing with the aforementioned man, then he seemed to disappear, or not be there when I would come. The next wave of employees was a series of young women that dont know a thing about planes. I think they do know how to put on alot of makeup though. One girl actually rolled out her eyes when I asked if she could get out the Aerobird/Hobbyzone book to look up a part so I could get it special-ordered--something I have done there a dozen times. I mean, an eye roll? Today, JUST today, I called over there to ask if they had a very popular r/c motor. The young woman who answered just echoed back the name of the motor to me like she had never heard of it, and then just said "no we dont have it" and hung up. Thanks for the help there. I am at the very edge of not going there again, only because of their lousy, and I mean lousy, service. I am the easiest guy to get along with too, so I have to have a pretty bad experience to actually write a review like this. Anyone that gives this place 5 stars is either blind, ignorant, a liar, or likes the girl at the counter with the short shorts--and no, she doesnt know very much either.

I have nothing but good things to say about the staff at this store. The owners are down to earth good people and the young guys they have working there are honest and eager to help. I have purchased several cars ranging from $200.00 - $800.00, and several hundred dollars worth of replacement or upgrade parts for each. Never once was I shyed away from asking for advice, or questions about the products I had purchased. Even if I was not purchasing an item, the staff was glad to explain the whys and whats about each product. You can easily spot the difference between someone that is passionate about building return customers, and someone who runs a store selling parts at 2 dollar markups. True, I could purchase everything I want online; but I always find myself driving from my home 30 minutes away to speak to Jaime, Marie, Nathan, Blair, Chris, and Will when I need something for my cars. The selection in store is great, they have a wide range of items from Airsoft guns, to marbles and puzzles all the way to pull-start gas powered RC trucks. In short, the staff are nice, prices are comparable to online, and the atmosphere is inviting.

Been going here for years for different hobby stuff. Recently bought something more expensive, that was highly recommended (no idea why - ugh), and I just didnt like it at all. Then I find out that theres no refunds what so ever. I wouldnt have even minded store credit as I would have spent even more money to get something better (Read: I would have spent more than twice the amount paid, for something I actually enjoyed). I honestly dont mind the trek to other hobby stores that do offer refunds, I was just thinking "keep it local". I cant imagine dropping 1,000+ bucks on something here for the fear that it is complete crap. Thankfully it was only a $75 lesson, but I want to get in on this stuff big time and Im probably going to spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on this particular hobby in the future, just not here. :/ My suggestion: If you need something cheap, like $10 bucks or so this place is great. Or perhaps something that you know isnt prone to error or breakage like a battery. Anything else, nope. IMHO you should stand beside your product and accept refunds for whatever reason.

Ive been visiting Hobbytown USA Corona for the past 6 months or so. Ive bought Quads, batteries, radios and receivers and a bunch of various parts in my efforts to get into the RC hobby. The staff there has been very helpful, eager to help and share what knowledge they have. Some know more than others, but considering the vast variety of hobbies provided, some are more knowledgeable.Try to do your homework online before going to the store. If you need one or two batteries of a certain type, or a receiver, or other gadget, you stand a ggod chance of finding what you want. There is a fair sized inventory of motors and escs, but, if youre planning on building a quad or hex (4-6 plus spares), theyd have to order it for you. I tend to order quantity online. Iits nice to purchase big ticket items there at the store where you can get your hands on it and get support down the road. The owner is a great guy who is really enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Some of the younger staff also have areas of expertise that have helped me get going. Theyre my "go to" hobby store.

To those of you bashing the Corona Hobbytown, simply take your input and put it where the sun dont shine. Ive been purchasing from Hobbytown USA, Corona location for approximately three years now. Never have I recieved any bad customer service during the 100+ visits I have made to the store. The store owners are two of the most helpful folks I have yet to come across with any hobby store throughout Southern California, and I have been to em all, trust me. In addition, each and every employee on staff are tremendously helpful as well, having never let me down. As for the store manager, she is extremely knowledgeable and probably knows more than any of you morons posting pathetic reviews combined. Stop being a typical man and give her a chance. Hobbytown USA, is a fantastic hobby store. With top notch customer service and a large array of product, I highly recommend you try it out first before taking the poorly written reviews written here on this website in to consideration. J.S. i live just down the street from this place. I go there cause it close and i take my kids to look around... most of the time the highschool kids that work there are in there only little world playing with there toys... the girl that works there isnt the most helpful!!!! i recently purchased a new hobby there for me and my son. while putting it together we noticed a defect from the factory... i rushed over there an hour after purchasing and after pointing out the defect to Stephanie she tried fixing what couldnt be fixed!!!! come on now... im sorry you were bothered to come out of the back room where you do nothing but collect your $9.00/hour but you have paying customers that spend alot of money in that store to keep it open... the least you can do is smile and be greatful we still come back there to deal with your bad attitude... Your attitude reflects to your employes which then in turn gets thrown at the customer...
