My daughter and I went into this WF to grab a sandwich for lunch. My daughter has Celiac Disease which means no Gluten. We filled out the order form with Gluten free bread and cheese, meat and produce on her sandwich. Before he made her sandwich he told her that they could not guarantee that her sandwich wouldnt be gluten free cause they have no where to make it that was clean where gluten hadnt touched the surface. I appreciate the employee for telling us this, but you would think all WF would have the same protocol. We have been to WF in San Jose, CA. and they do have a Gluten Free area where they prepare foods. While at WF on Stanyan St. I look where to cold cuts were at and saw rolls sitting on top of the meats. I think your employees should understand about allergies about Gluten. Very disappointed on our trip to this WF in San Francisco while going for Dr. visits down the st.

The neighborhood is a bit "dodgy" because of the drug addicts who lurk the Haight neighborhood. But also there is the stuffy patronage that seem to enjoy flaunting their affluence. Like why would anyone have to park their latest model Landrover or Porsche AWD, in the tiny parking lot, when its easier to catch a lyft, or have your driver drop you and pick you up? The paradoxes of wealth and the wretched homeless in this neighborhood is bizarre. Twice, as I waited to be checked out, the cashiers refused my purchases, and picked to service customers behind me in the que because I was a homeless person. If I werent hungry, I would have gone elsewhere - but this was the only grocer that accepted food stamps within a 3 mile radius. Had I known that I was going to be treated with such bias, I would not have gone there. So obviously I now avoid it when ever I am in the neighborhood.

Meh. I find this WholeFoods somewhat annoying. I need to go back here and figure out what I dont like about this place. I cant quite put my finger on it, but I dislike it enough to avoid it...A few observations thus far: very small, busy and somewhat irritating clientele. I just dont get a friendly vibe here and find myself feeling stressed and annoyed while shopping. Something is energetically weird about this place, and it isnt the homeless people... Pros: *The people who work here are very friendly. *Its easy to get to from the Inner Sunset. *Its Wholefoods! Cons: *Bad Feng Shui? *Limited selection compared to other WholeFoods *Tiny

Theres no doubt that the food here is gonna be great. So lets look into what makes this a unique place. They have bicycle racks out front which makes it convenient for cyclists. My only hesitation is that there is a rehab clinic and food kitchen close by and lots of unsavory folks eye-ing your bike. I wish they had security guards right next to the racks. When you go inside, theres space to shop but there are only 2, yes count them 2 lines for check out. This can become a cramped nightmare but they do a good job of using staff to make sure the checkout process goes well. I dont recommend driving here at all.

I really like the people I have met that work here and they have good looking greens and a decent selection. Like most whole foods it is $$$ unless you know how to shop. On the other hand, it is much more limited in their selection (due to size) than the Berkeley Whole foods and the chocolate section here needs work. Be careful at the meat/seafood area for pricing. Sometimes it is charged by the piece instead of the pound and I got snooked on that one and paid about the same for cod as halibut. Would not recommend going by car at peak times.

Rather small Whole Foods in the Haight. Its located on Haight and Stanyan, opposite of Amoeba Records. Its a normal Whole Foods stuffed into a small building - hence it gets crowded super fast. There is security at the door and staff on the parking lot that is more or less interested in directing cars into the spaces. This Whole Foods has a deli counter and a bakery/coffee bar, along with the usual selection. Seems to be a popular place in the summer to pick up goods before heading over to Golden Gate Park.

I love this whole foods. Aside from seeing some interesting people, it is in the haight after all, I really like the location. Everyone that works there is super helpful and friendly. I can always find what I am looking for pretty easily. They have a great layout but it can get packed if you go during lunch time. I love that they are always stocked with kombucha. Whole Foods can be pricy so I wouldnt do a huge shopping trip here. But it is great for some of my go to foods that I cant find anywhere else.

I love reading the reviews. Sounds like the original store on Lamar in Austin! Ive shopped at WFMs from the Atlantic to the Pacific and from Texas to Chicago. I am grateful for every last one of them. No, they dont carry all the same products and no they are not cheap. We take what they have and cook glorious meals, drink new beers and old wines and feast on whatever local little sweet things they have for dessert. Thank you, WFM, for wherever you are and whatever you stock.

What you need to know about Whole Foods in the Haight 1. The parking lot is tiny, so temper your expectations. 2. Theres amazing selection of craft beers. 3. The place is spotless, new and really nice to shop. 4. Youll find everything here youve come to expect from Whole Foods. 5. Where the places goes to hell is the checkout process. You form two lines that ultimately merge. The lines are long, slow and meander throughout the story. Its the single worst part of shopping here.

Friendly staff and generally OK to decent at off-peak times. Unfortunately this WF is a victim of its location and the small building - Selection and stock is not as good as other WFM stores, and produce is often depleted by late afternoon. Parking lot entrances are pedestrian & cyclist unfriendly due to the embarrassed people who sit in their running vehicles queuing to park. The security isnt as aggressive as they should be with the non-customer loiterers near the entrance.

Small, crowded, most employees would rather be anywhere else and show it. May have 30 minute waits to get a cup of coffee or check out. It is Whole Foods, in good location, but has many many issues that need addressed. The best part about this location are the extremely professional security staff who quite frankly should get hazard pay considering what they have to deal with on occasion. Ive seen them handle bad situations with light force and grace, kudos to them.

Watch out for "sale" prices, which regularly dont ring up properly at the register. This happens at an alarmingly high rate at this particular Whole Foods (I am charged full price for about 10% of sale items I purchase at this store). Ive started wondering if they are "accidentally" forgetting to lower the price for sale items in their checkout system, since Ive never had a regular-priced item sold to me at a lower price. (I meticulously check all my receipts.)

Whenever my friends have a picnic in the park, I go to this Whole Foods to get a sandwich and snacks to share. The last time I did that, the line to get a sandwich was a bit hectic. No one knew how to order, and the line that formed was in the way of patrons that wanted to pass by. But I have no complaints about my customized sandwich. The surrounding area can be a bit dodgy. But its pretty clean inside. I just wouldnt use the restroom.
