The first time I went to the Alfred Angelo’s store in Brea, CA I had a wonderful experience with the representative. My decision to return and purchase a dress was a MISTAKE that I will now have to endure. Due to conflicting schedules I was unable to meet with the representative I had met the first time. I made a decision to purchase a wedding dress with her replacement who was not as genuine or helpful. I paid the deposit as requested. I was instructed that I would be contacted to come back, try on the dress and pay the balance. Upon returning I was told I cannot try on the dress or touch it until I pay for it in full. After much arguing, the manager made an exception. She was less than gentle in the dressing room and while looking for different size undergarments she slammed the door repeatedly. The dress was very wrinkled and poorly presented. I felt for the money I paid, it looked very cheap and not taken care of. There was a problem with the stitching and certain areas were bubbling up. I had to come back and make a special appointment with the seamstress. I got off early from work, sat in traffic for an hour just to come back since she is only available one day a week. I went straight to the restroom and washed my face and hands, as advised by the manager in order to prevent smudging the dress. Another appointed representative helped me back into the dress and got bright orange foundation make up on the front of the garment. She assured me it would wash out with water. After two attempts with a wet paper towel and scrubbing, it did not come off. She told me she had notified the staff and they would take care of it. After meeting with the seamstress who fixed the bubbling areas, she put my dress in a new bag that wasnt see thru like the first. I paid the balance and left the building but stopped at my car. I called to inquire if the make-up had been removed from the dress. They told me it would not set in and not to worry. They said they would clean it when I came back later in four months! I knew better, with no receipt and paid in full that they could "forget" and refuse as well as there would inevitably be a stain. So they then offered to take it to the "shop" and have it cleaned. I had to call back again just to remind them that I was still outside the door waiting to return the dress. After they allowed me back into the store the seamstress was less than happy and gave me a receipt for service. Many people besides myself have already physically touched the dress without gloves. The only person that wore gloves was the manager, but even under her supervision she did not direct anyone else to handle with care. Just the day before she was explaining to me and my family why we shouldnt touch the dress and why she was wearing gloves. I will have to go back and pick up my dress again later and hope that it makes it to the wedding date. But I hope if you have a choice to go somewhere else, I would definitely go somewhere else. Unless the dress is on clearance the price does not equal the quality of the dress or customer service.

i took my bridesmaids on aug. 7th, and they told me that it would be 8 weeks for the dresses to come in. I called Oct. 9th and they told me NONE of the dresses were in i said fine ok, i texted my girls told them and 2 of them replied saying they had received a call that their dresses were in. i was then confused as to what the heck was going on. little side note that they told me they would contact me as well as the bridesmaids so the bride (which is me) is in the know of what is going on as well. well they didnt call me. I called again oct. 14th and they said the same thing that none of the dresses were in, i then said that 2 of my bridesmaids had told me that they had received calls they then put me on a 5 min hold and came back and said yes 2 are in and not the rest. i then asked if the bride is not supposed to be contacted? they said no that the only person they contact is the bridesmaids. Which was odd because when we ordered the dresses they said they would contact bride. it is now oct. 21 and the last 2 dresses came in and i got a call for 2 out of the 6 dresses that they were ready. I am to pick most of them up so this really upset me. I felt like they lied to me and i can not stand when vendors lie. it was ridiculous. and one of my girls got a super big dress, because that is what the consultant told her she measured at and she is swimming in this dress. It was a bit ridiculous. when i went in that day with my girls i told our consultant that not all girls were financially stable so if we can get style number, color and dress info for girls who couldnt afford to get it that day to come back and order it, well i found out a few weeks later that the consultant told all my girls that they HAD to order that day because it was what i requested, and that is absolutely not true, luckly. Advice: you have to SPECIAL request if you want them to contact you regarding your girls dress.

I had my bridesmaids get their dresses from another Alfred Angelo store for my wedding in 2008. The dresses were all gorgeous and looked fantastic on all the girls, and I loved the fact that you can select your own color. Hence why I recommended the store to my friend, whose wedding I will be in 9/5/10. However, this location was horribly managed. When I tried on my bridesmaids dress for this wedding, it fit snugly in the waist. The woman helping me measured me and said that I was somewhere between sizes but that the size 6 seemed to fit me well...so I ordered it. When I received my dress, I was shocked to discover that the dress would not fit around my hips at all. I went back in to discuss this with the manager, expecting her to let out the sides for free. However, she began by telling me there was no way I could have tried on such a size in this style because they didnt have it (until she was corrected by another worker 5 min. later). She then proceeded to tell me that I should have ordered a size 8 and there was nothing she could do to help me, even though the consultant who fitted me failed to mention that dresses in the store are "stretched out" from being tried on so often. She was pretty rude about the whole thing. I told her she needs to have a serious talk with the consultant who fitted me as it was, obviously, her "expert" advise that I followed when ordering the dress. Therefore I recommend Alfred Angelos overall, but not this location AT ALL. If you do, be sure to "order up" if the dress is even "close" to not fitting.

Why dont they have negative stars - this place totally deserves it. Very snotty sales lady stopped us at the door and demanded our appointment information. I informed her that we did not have one, as we had seen a bridesmaid dress online and just wanted to briefly check it out in person. Well! I was informed that this is an appointment ONLY boutique, and I would not be able to view the dresses hanging on the racks. But she could provide me with a brochure. Um, maybe she didnt hear me, but i already SAW a picture of the dress, just wanted to see in person. Not try on, not run out of the store with it, just look. So I asked - so are you telling me that I cannot look at the dresses hanging on your wall? She again tried to give me a brochure, then asked suspiciously when my wedding is. I said August, and she said -"Oh, that is way too soon!" really? Give me a break. When was the last time your bridesmaid dress took over 8 months to arrive? So again, I said, so are you telling me I cannot go look at these dresses sitting on the rack next to me - she finally said that she supposed I could, but that no one would be able to help us try them on. Yeah, no worries really, because there is absolutely no way that I would spend any money in your store. I told her that we were not interested in her sub-par service and left. LOL.
