Im a fan of this place, but you have to understand what youre signing up for when you go. First of all if youre making anything for dinner that would seem even slightly "exotic" to an older white person in the Midwest, this is not going to be your only stop. You wont find eight different varieties of dried chilli peppers, and you wont find Korean gochujang or even anything interesting in the way of, say, mustard. However, what you will find is fairly high quality basic staples at prices far below the competitions. Yes you have to pay a refundable quarter "deposit" to use a cart, yes you should bring your own bags (unless you dont mind paying for new ones), yes you have to bag your own groceries. This is all stuff, theyll be happy to yell you, that keeps the prices low. There are mostly only house brands for stuff where other supermarkets might stock a diverse array of different options, but the quality (with some exceptions) is pretty high at Aldi, and the prices just blow other markets away.

Now accepts credit cards!!! They charge 10-15¢ for bags (if you like to get bags) but i use empty boxes (like costco) To get a shopping cart you should put 25¢ to release the cart and when you return the cart you get your quarter back. Aldi is one the unique grocery stores which you can get your daily groceries with a real cheap price, even lower than walmart and costco. The variety of merchandise is not much but it has 80-90% of what I have in my daily meal. 50-60% of the merchandise are not usually found in other super markets like walmart, ralphs ... Packages are usually small and good for 1 or few servings. Luckily there is going to be more store starting business shortly in Southern California. Btw, aldi is a sister company of trader joes and I think it is originally from Germany.

ALDI, also parent company of Trader Joes, is, if anything, interesting. Latest advertising taunts their abundant supply of organics. May be true in their European stores - but not at either of the locations near me. I made only three visits and obtained only a few purchases. Did find organic salad greens and kale and a few other organic vegetables. Most food here is processed and has lots of soy fillers. Yuk! If you care about what you eat you should Google search your every ALDI selection as you shop. My cat did eat their small size kitty canned food. I also purchased organic eggs. Store is clean. Be sure you have a spare quarter (returned to you)for accessing shopping cart and, of course here in CA, your own bags or pay the fee.

Great supermarket in Anaheim. An import from Germany, it is very different than your average grocery store. You pay a quarter for a cart, which you get back when you turn the cart in. You bring your own bags, they were like this even before California passed the law to ban individual plastic bags. You bag your own groceries. The prices are incredible. Especially on eggs, milk, other dairy. They will clearance stuff out and sell it for dirt cheap. I got cream cheese for $0.25 once. But everything is off-label. Its the Aldi label. A lot of their foods are too salty so buying a name brand is worth it but you wont find many brand names at Aldi. I love this place and i go at least twice a month.

I love this place! They have great prices and always new stuff to try. You have to bring a quarter to unlock the karts and you either have to buy the bags or bring your own. But usually there is a stack of boxes that I use instead of bags. They dont have every ingredient like a major grocery store would, but 90% of what you need to get by on is going to be here. And they have a bunch of cool random stuff that you can try if youre the type of person who likes new things. I also have to give a shout out to the staff who is always friendly. I like that the company allows them to show their piercings and tattoos.

Pretty good grocer. Yes, grocer. This is NOT a super market. Plenty of private label items for very reasonable prices. Strange items also come through here every once in awhile. I even got a funnel cake kit once. Carts ask for a 25 cent deposit that you get back on successful return of cart. Check out goes directly into your cart so you can wander over to the bagging bench and bag your own goods. With that said, bring your own bags or buy them on the spot because you are not getting them for free. A great store that really does it differently.

High quality food at low prices. This place really delivers amazing food that is backed up by their guarantee. I havent tried anything yet from their selection that I didnt like. Remember, they do not take coupons or bag your groceries... you do the bagging yourself, but this is to save cost for them which equals savings for you! Be sure to bring a quarter to get a shopping cart out of the coral. You get it back upon returning the cart.

Its a small location with basic kitchen essentials(not lots of international). Really impressed with the prices&quality of produce. Never too crowded and the avocados are delicious from here (usually only $0.45) I dig the idea of bringing your own bag&the cart system is clever. You will also have to pack your own groceries-if youre in a hurry bring a friend to help. Lots of organics+gluten free options...definitely recommend!

Make sure you carry cash or should I say change you need to insert a quarter before you can use a shopping cart. Next most brands in stores are knock offs yes the prices are cheaper but to be honest you can get better quality at the 99 cent store. Walked around and realized that there isnt a lot to offer for daily savings like other grocery stores. Thanks but Ill stick to my Union stores

One of the better grocery stores in the area. The store is clean and well lit, staff is helpful and friendly, and the food is well priced. They always have fresh produce, and rotate in seasonal items. While they do not have the variety you may see in a larger grocery store, items are always great quality and you can find some really cool, unusual products from around the world.

I think this place has a great system going on. Everything is in its place and they have cut the fat from the meat. Lines are quick and everything is in its place for fast grocery shopping. Alot of the items are healthy and cheaper then its competition

Aldi has some of the freshest fruits, vegetables and meats for unbelievable prices. The customer service is great and the company treats the employees well. I highly recommend considering this as your primary source of groceries!

Great prices and good quality food. Bring a quarter for a shopping cart (which is refunded when the cart is returned). Smaller market, they have most groceries but only one brand of each item--mostly quality generic brands.
