We recently visited family in Little Rock during the holiday and stayed downtown on the riverfront. One morning we meandered along in search for trolley passes and stumbled upon an intriguing storefront that was the Rivermarket Books and Gifts. My 3 year old was immediately entertained by the room of toys and books - free to play with - not to mention the Teepee that was just her size. The smell of the fresh brewed coffee drew me, tempting me with the array of pastries and treats. Dad & I took turns browsing the main floor, my hands piled full of goodies from vintage sheetwork (for my 11yr old daughter budding violinist), to a whimsical mobile to hang our recent vacation photos, and a large selection of unique Christmas gifts and books that were 50% off. After browsing the lower level library we made it up to the 3rd floor to admire all of the art featured by local artists. All of the ladies were so kind and a pleasure to visit with (thank you for the little glowing fairies). The whole time I was there, I keep saying what a cool and fun store it was!!!! Walking distance from the Old State House museum and the Clinton Library. Has three levels and a small cafe. Wonderful selections of lightly-used books (many are priced at $4) and antique books at extremely reasonable prices. So many books on history, biography, religion, literature, politics, regional (Asia, Middle East, etc.) studies, natural science, pets and animals; plus CDs and LP records...... Staff members were very friendly and helpful. Wish my town had a bookstore like this one.

Skyhook Studios

Very clean, organized, and vast selection of books. First level of two mostly filled with older classics and non fiction choices. Lower level is home to sci-fi/fantasy, paranormal, normal fiction, kids selection (rather large), mystery, ect. The only probably that I had was, being a big sci-fi/fantasy reader, there was not a great selection there. All in all, great place to check out. Most selections are 4-5 bucks. A great place to find a wide variety of books. Rivermarket Books is a treasure trove for book lovers and the prices are so low you can walk out with months of reading material for less than a couple of new releases at a chain bookstore.
