As this mall was just renovated, there should be a reasonable expectation that all of the tenants would not be closing. More and more stores are going out of business in this mall. Then storefronts are being covered with artwork commemorating Shoals area history. Other stores and restaurants randomly close whenever they see fit with no consistent consideration of posted mall operational hours. This mall is no longer a user friendly environment as they have removed the fountain and all the benches. There are no longer any plants or trees, and all of the kiosks in the main corridor have been removed so theres an unobstructed view of only a few people scattered from one end of the mall to the other. The Sears store in this mall closes 3 or more hours earlier than rest of the malls anchors. The other anchor stores include a JC Penney, which is barely better than the previously mentioned Sears store and is a terrible example of what this company typically represents. The Dillards location here is a decent shopping experience; however, it still falls short of the excellence one would normally expect from this company. The best anchor store in this mall is definitely Belk. Though it is scattered between two different stores on opposite ends of the mall, and both locations are typically poorly organized and low on stock. Most of the unique specialty shops have seemingly been chased out by an over zealous landlord whos jacked up his rent after a horrendously failed attempt at a major renovation. The lowest bidder does not usually provide the best work, which is clearly evident in the mismatched carpet pattern that is obviously designed to line up and create a continuous picture but does not. Youve fallen short on "Regency Square". What was wrong with that name? Florence Mall is an epic failure and needs a serious re-evaluation if is to survive much longer. Many of us would be happier supporting a local mall than packing the Waltons pockets at one of our areas four Walmart Stores. This mall doesnt promote that desire.

First off I hate shopping. When I get dragged into a mall I expect a few things while my wife shops. A place to sit is at the tip top of that list. They have removed 99.9% of the benches. Second on my list is dont make me feel like a criminal when I sit in the floor because you removed the benches. I might not personally be spending money, but trust me these dang trips are not free or enjoyable for me. Being told I have to get up by overzealous rent-a-cops just adds to the future argument that undoubtedly happen, because I was forced to enter your building against my will in the first place. Threatening to kick me out only encourages me to do more sitting. Maybe if you take my picture next time and ban me from entry I could get out of having to go at all. You know like they did the Angel Tree people at Christmas time. Oh lets not forget the actual Florence police that also patrol the mall... basically if you want to feel unwanted, a bit like a criminal, or constantly watched. You might enjoy the "shopping experience". However if you are a normal male that goes along to make the Ol lady happy, it sucks. Go to Huntsville, even Bridge Street has benches!

Without much effort, you can find most anything in this mall. It has all the stores that people have come to know and love, and more. Patrons can feel a better sense of safety with the onsite Police Department; grab a quick bite at one of the many vendors in the food court; or simply relax from a busy day of shopping at any of the multiple benches throughout. Stroller rentals are available here as well. The entire premises inside and out are very well maintained, and the shops within seem to adhere to strict standards of cleanliness. Every shop I visited here employs well groomed, polite individuals; who seemed eager to serve. The restrooms are well stocked and clean. There are multiple entryways and exits for convenience. While this mall may seem at first sight to cater to the more trendy crowd, they act quite the opposite. Everyone can feel welcome and at place here.

This mall is so close to dying its sad. It is not a friendly environment for the consumer. There is little to no sitting, most of the stores worth having have been forced out by landlord who thinks his property is worth way more than it is. The food court cleaning crew are some of the rudest people youll meet. Today I watched as one of the female crew members absolutely emberrased a teacher who was with her class on a field trip. She made it seem like the teacher had failed to do her job because the kids made a little mess, but in reality I was impressed by how well they behaved for their ages. Teachers do a hard job and dont deserve to me disrespected. Florence Mall maybe start acting like you want costumers, and youll have them. P.s put in business not murals.

Covering up retail space with art and local attractions isnt the best idea to increase foot traffic. Stores continue to close, why isnt the management pursuing new and popular chains to bring in customers? Forever 21, Hot Topic, Torrid, Vans, just look at malls in bigger cities, they are almost always packed. Those type of stores would be excellent in a college town like this. Management doesnt seem interested in making sure the mall remains open. Its a shame.

The Florence mall isnt very exciting. Its small and doesnt really have anything that every single other mall doesnt have. Theres no Hot Topic, Build a Bear, or Forever 21. There used to be an arcade but now there is absolutely nothing for kids to do. Its barely sufficient for the area; it works for grabbing a slice of pizza and running into American Eagle theres really nothing to see here, thats why everyone shops in Huntsville.

Want to know what the 80s looked like? A dying mall, bought and "revamped" by a local wealthy family. Murals of local history now board over empty stores. And more murals are added each month. They youre out all the landscaping and trees, added skylights, that have lights on them, because why use sunlight when you can light your sunlight! Its a superficial makeover from last century with way higher rent. Doomed.

Renovations are nice. However, it looks empty and depressing. In other malls there are many things such as seating and kiosk in the middle. In my opinion things going in the midway of the mall make it lively and appealing. I have an elderly mother who I cant take there as there is no seating for her to rest between stores. I drive to Huntsville when I want to go to a mall. Less depressing.

Like all malls, Florence Mall is dying. I went to this mall to visit a GNC because I needed something to remove uric acid from my system. The young man acted like I was interrupting his break, I think he didnt appreciate an older customer. He dropped me right away when an athletic young man came in. I found what I wanted at the pharmacy in the local Walmart. I wont be back to GNC.

From a teenager standpoint, I would recommend that there should be more stores that are for the youth. I feel like there is a limited option for shopping when I go there. On the other hand, I am pleased with the improvements to the mall and I think it will attract more tourists when the remodeling is done.
