Having purchased some womens work boots online, I discovered that the best way to buy them is to go to a store and actually try on different styles. I headed over to the Red Wing store in Hackensack, NJ. Im finding that stores dont carry many womens work boots but Red Wing had a good enough cross-section of styles. I tried several pairs and chose a pair of Vasque boots which most people seem to use for hiking but I wear them on the unforgiving cement floor in Home Depot. I worked with Erik and he showed me some really excellent arch-supporting inserts. I am very happy with my experience at Red Wing.....and with Erik!

Very helpful. I was buying Iron Rangers for the first time and while they didnt have the color I was looking for in stock the sales associate encouraged me to try on a pair they had in stock to make sure I know my correct size. He also informed me I can either order the color I wanted at the store or just order them online. Since the Red Wing website has free shipping over $75 he advised it will probably be faster if I ordered them online.
