Bad business sense. I have always considered this as my nice little neighborhood liquor store and have shopped there exclusively since they opened. Selection is reasonable but prices higher as a trade-off for it being conveniently placed in the neighborhood. Many of my friends, neighbors and fellow school parents shop there too. Its a shame and a major insult then, when I approached the owner for a small donation of a couple of bottles of wine for the raffle at the local school fundraiser only to be told a flat "No" and that he was "fed up with getting hit up by people". Really? I would have thought that giving a little back to the local community that support your business with a small donation (and a sign at the event thanking you) would have made good business and marketing sense. That said, I drove to MGM on Hwy. 7 & 101 in Minnetonka and was told they would be happy to make a donation in support of the school. Their approach means that I will gladly drive the extra mile to patronage MGM and, as a result, will enjoy a greater selection and lower prices.

Glen Lake Wine & Spirits carries a very decent variety of wine and spirits given its understated location. Its proximity to the local grocery store and coffee shop makes it a great stop for your weekly errands. Ive been very impressed with the knowledge of a few employees when I ask for recommendations. They offer thoughtful suggestions without pushing any particular product. A great local Minnetonka area business to support.

Dan and Tanya, husband and wife owners of Glen Lake Wine & Spirits are two of the hardest working business owners in Glen Lake. Dan always gives me straight answers to my questions and has extensive knowledge of all of his products, especially wine. Their staff is friendly and efficient.
