I dont want to bucket everyone together because Ive had a few ok experiences, but most of the employees at this store are not helpful. Usually employees wander around the store but do their best to avoid eye contact with you. 20 years ago HD was the most helpful place. They built their reputation on customer service. It was actually fun. Now it feels like most employees dont know what the heck they are talking about. For example, I wanted to buy some lumber for a deck. I was told that because I wanted 20 foot long boards that I needed to go talk to the Pro Shop for a special lumber order. I went to the Pro Shop at 3pm on Saturday. The pro shop was closed and I was told that the customer service department could help me. So I walked to the other end of the store where some grumpy old dude was taking online orders. He looked at me like "I do online orders only, why are you bugging me?" then proceeded to tell me that he couldnt help and that Id have to come back when the Pro Shop was open. How is the special order shop not open on weekends? So, I took my $1800 lumber order elsewhere. Chump change for HD but still sad that I was there to buy and no one would allow me to do that. Just bad business.

Theyre barely ok...Door and window department is not good at followup. Ill buy my door at Lowes. And whats with letting everyone bring their dogs into the store. Look...some people are allergic, dogs sometimes bite, or fight with each other. Also some people just dont like em. Big liability for HD to allow this. If I get bitten, there will be hell to pay!!!

The managers at Home Depot are so horrible! They never smile, never say hi, just walk by and ignore customers! I wanted to ask for a manager about a special promotion, but when the associate walked me over to him, he didnt even acknowledge the associate and was using vulgar language towards another associate! Horrible business management!

This is the only home depot location Ive been to where staff have been proactively helpful to me. One staff member went across the store to being me something i had asked about. Hey, its a big box store so keep your expectations in check. But so far in my experience its been a step above at this home depot.

Home depots success comes from their low prices, which they used to bankrupt other small businesses. They have a huge selection, but the many employees will have a hard time finding what you need. We spoke to some very inexperienced employees and, the one who cut lumber for us did a poor job.

Excellent experience all around! Employees and managers were very helpful with my specific problem (retrofitting a bathroom) and stuck with me through the whole project. Definitely returning for my next project!

Asked for help with wood boards and i was told they didnt have any. Ended up at richert lumber and they gathered them, cut them and loaded them in my car as thier normal service. What a difference.

I like this Home Depot - it seems to be clean and organized and the other customers and staff are friendly. Also, the location is beautiful when driving there from almost any direction.

The Home Depot of San Ramon has a better variety and better selection of things you dont find in most other Home Depots. Customer service is also extremely helpful.

I always had good service by the lumbar department here compared to the Pleasanton location. There is more choice of wood also. Havent used other departments.

Same Home Depot experience. Know what you want before you go in, because your phone will have ZERO reception inside the building for whatever reason.

Cool they allow dogs in the store. Employee in paints was courteous and knowledgeable. Store is clean and well stocked.
