In todays modern world of ebooks, theres still nothing like a stack of nice and heavy hard-covered architectural books on the coffee table, and this is the place to get them. Although Im no architect and only a pretend urban planner, this is my favorite bookstore in the city to peruse. Stout has a good collection of local SF books, many of which I dont seem to run into at other bookstores. I love going through the transportation section and the modern architecture stuff as well. The only problem is I often walk out having to lug a 20 pound book the size of a briefcase all the way back home.

Great selection of architecture books from monographs to typologies to vernacular architecture. Great selection of journals including back issues. Prepare to spend a good afternoon browsing and prepare to be tempted. They have a rewards club
