My girlfriend and I went to look at a Volvo which was listed on the Car King website, the price wasn’t the greatest, much higher than KBB or Edmunds, but my girlfriend fell in love with the car from the pictures. We went in to take a look and test drive it on a Saturday, so it was pretty busy. We waited about 25 minutes just to get the keys to take a look inside the car, which wasn’t a problem. We finally got to look and it and test drive it, and she still loved the car. We talked to a guy named Brian and we gave him a check to put money down on the car (only $20), and said that we would be back on Monday. When we went back we brought her dad, and brother. We again looked at the car, upon closer inspection (and a CarFax) the car was shown to be in an accident, slightly minor but still not disclosed until the CarFax. There was minor damage, so it wasn’t a problem. We finally talked it over, and found Brian to talk details about purchasing. The car was a 2005 Volvo S40 with 100,000 miles prices at $7,000. As the price was very high we asked to be a lot closer to $6,000, he actually insulted us and laughed at us for asking to go lower. Instead of just saying “I’m sorry, but that’s too low”, he went on to insult us saying stuff like “I can have that car sold in a day”. Another concern we had for the car was that the timing belt and water pump needed to be replaced since it was hitting the 105k mile mark. He consulted with his mechanic about how much that would cost and we found the cost to be $450, which was very reasonable, so instead of asking to go lower on the vehicle we asked to have the water pump and timing belt replaced. He again proceeded to insult us, and stormed back inside. We weren’t sure if we were supposed to leave or not, he came back outside and said that the most they would be able to do would be splitting the repair. We said that we wouldn’t be able to do that, and were going to walk away. As we went to get the check for the money we put down on the car he was being very rude, walking away and kind of laughing saying “so we can’t make a deal over a few hundred dollars”. As we were leaving he mentioned that he would be able to call his boss and see if they would be able to do the repair, and if so they’d call us back. We said sure that would be great. Within 15 minutes he called and said that his boss said they could do the repairs. Because my girlfriend loved this car she was still willing to go back. She said she would be able to go tomorrow to finish with the contract of sale. When she the next day she brought a personal check for a down payment and was finishing financing through her bank. She arrived and they told her they didn’t accept personal checks, so she went to her bank and got a cashier’s check. When she went back to the dealer with the check she again spoke with Brian who told her he never agreed to have the timing belt and water pump replaced, and said he didn’t know what “her and her friends” heard, but that’s not what he said, and then proceeded to walk away from her. After such an insulting experience trying to buy a car she left the dealership, very upset. Only about 15 minutes later she received a call from Brian apologizing and saying that he was wrong and that we did agree to that. Then a little while after that received a call from the owner stating roughly the same thing. I have never felt so insulted trying to buy a car before, nor would I EVER go back or recommend this dealer to ANYONE, I’m hoping that someone reads this so they don’t waste their time and feel insulted, making the experience of buying a car not only difficult but stressful.

All the cars here are dinged up and half of them dont work properly. Here is my story- We bought an 02 vw passat in September, two months later the engine blew. We needed a car ASAP so we took it in to our own mechanic to get a new one put it, this came out of our pocket and totaled at 4,300. All they offered was to have us at our expense tow it to them an hour and a half away so they could look at it. Really, your mechanics are the ones that missed all these problems, you think Id give you another dollar to fix it? Not. And by this time the engine was already being replaced because we needed this second vehicle.Once they got further into the car they realized the oil was leaking so bad it was under the seats of the car. It was deemed dangerous and had we gotten into an accident it would have ignited. The hoses that were connected to the engine were all either cracked or broke. The timing belt and water pump was also replaced. Not even a month after the heater core blew and siezed the new engine. This place will screw you over! We are a working family and have a child! We needed this car, *** and his employees are scammers. And *** is very rude and obnoxious. We spent about 10,000 on this car all in all. And now its shot. Thanks car king for taking this families money. Shame on you, karma will come :) Ill take your business down so you cant do this again. Also read all the reviews Google this place! Im not the only one this has happened to unfortunately. This customer had a NEGATIVE experience with this business. This customer WOULD NOT recommend the business to a friend, family member, neighbor or colleague. by Ashley M. on 1/22/2015 | Submit a Customer Review Was this review helpful to you? I bought a 2003 Jetta from this place in early August 2016. I had a gut feeling when I went to this place but figured they would be reputable given how long theyve been in business. Wow! I wish I would have listened to that voice in my head and read the reviews for this place before ever visiting this dealership. I should have taken it as a sign when I took the car for a test drive and they were just as surprised as I was that the A/C didnt work...that should have been my cue to run as far away from this place as possible...I mean...how didnt you all know that if you inspected the cars prior to selling them...it only makes sense to conclude that they DONT inspect them before selling them. Then about a week after purchase the brakes started grinding REALLY bad...had they inspected the car, they would have seen that. I mean.......they took it upon themselves to mark them "Legal" on the disclosure form. Then every so often, the driver door cracks open and I have to stop (sometimes on the highway lol) to open it up and close it again. So...anyway...I take my car to get the emissions tested today, right? Four codes!!!! Needless to say it failed MISERABLY......2 months and 3,000 miles after purchase. Who knows whats up...theres 2 misfires, and something else....oh and that reminds me....sometimes when I drive it to work in the morning, it starts misfiring and rough idling and I pray to God everyday that it doesnt die out on me. I havent contacted this dealer yet about it, but based off of other reviews I have read, Im not expecting that to get me very far. Given that its a used car, Im not sure how much legal counsel could do for me...its worth looking into since the things that fail tend to be things that show up on the disclosure sheet. So...whatever...you live and learn and warn people to stay as far away as possible from places that will burn them! At least I didnt spend a lot of money at this place! I just kick myself nearly everyday for not going back to the best dealership in West Allis, A1 Motors. The car I bought there was awesome. Anyone considering this place should check out A1 Motors! You wont be disappointed. The car I bought there 3 years ago, now a 15 year old car, is still going good and strong, and getting my disabled mom everywhere she needs to go. I wont even let her touch my Jetta because I dont want it to fall apart while shes driving it; Im worried about her safety (and mine) when driving this car...what does THAT say?
