I give this place credit. I am fascinated by malls they call "dead malls". This is one of those malls. It was once packed to the brim with stores for a while. Then the big guy, the West Towne Mall moved in just a bit of the ways to the west in 1970. And with that, a lot of the major names here at West Gate, like JC Penneys moved over to the West Towne Mall, and the rest is history. This mall still has a major anchor, a TJ Maxx, which honestly isnt the best of the major chain anchors, but is keeping this mall afloat. It has a few odd and neat shops remaining, such as the Raven Works store, and a Wisconsin Athletic Wear shop. Rocky Rococos also remains, and always gives the center court of the mall a great smell. A smell that throws me right into my childhood. For what this mall is, its good. Its clean, its well kept for the most part. It could use some work and updating of course. And I wish that movie theater in the back was still open. I remember my mom taking me there to see some movies as a kid. I have hope that maybe someday something will spark up this mall again. Maybe a bunch of local shops inside would be great. Dont get me wrong, I love the major retailers in the bigger malls, but I think its something this mall would benefit from. Now, to just get more local businesses to open up shop here! Long live Westgate Mall!

Theres a few good stores, but I think if they clean it up inside and out, fix the parking lot to make it look like a presentable location...they could fix this mall right up. Keep open the stores that are in, fix the food court area. This place should bring back their movie theater it was hella cool. Also put all the locations for lease that way stores can come and this mall can finally get up and running again, its a ghost town and im surprised its still open. I think its a great place of oppurtunity for an awesome mini mall

This used to be the mall to visit on the West-Side of Madison. This appears to be changing, however. The food court seems to be having trouble keeping tenants, and the anchor stores consist of JC Penney and Sears (LOL). Even the little kiosk carts throughout the mall have gone downhill, unless you like shopping for cell phone cases all day. The Apple Store is still in here for now, but I wonder how much longer before they move it to the Hilldale mall.

Aesthetics and music were on point. 4 star because its great to look around but my fellow visitor was barked at by the mall fuzz for taking 1 picture inside. Also Rockys closed so its just a matter of time before they shut the building down.

Very empty, theres still some stores and food options. I remember when it use to be a much more vibrant place, with Hy-Vee connected maybe it will make a come back. Otherwise its a indoor / outdoor mall kinda reminds me of Phoenix malls

If the management of this mall was nicer to everyone, tenants might stay. I watched them illegally harass a woman with a service dog, telling her she was not allowed to have it in the mall with her. This is an ADA violation.

Essentially a dead mall, which makes it super intriguing! Still plentiful with decently well known chains like TJ Maxx, Rocky Rococos, and I do believe Hancock Fabrics is still there! Believe It! Shi shi shi!

Its a ghost town. Its definitely seen better days. The facilities arent run down, just vacant. I mean, theres a State Farm agent selling insurance. Its like a mall that got turned into a strip mall.

This mall is super dead, very few stores are still open, and I heard some of those are considering closing soon. Great place to go mall walking though as theres very few actual shoppers.

Used to enjoy going to this mall. It had several interesting specialty shops. I was there a couple of days ago and it is virtually empty. Not much reason to go there anymore.

Wanna watch a mall die slowly? This is the perfect example of a slow, painful death. Owners wont spend money to update the mall and thus new businesses dont want to move in.

The mall isnt what it used to be, but the craft store is excellent, especially for yarn. There is a TJ Maxx and Hy-Vee is a good grocery store.

Visit TJ Maxx and Hy-Vee several times a week. Great location and shopping finds. Also walk the mall and eat at Rocky Rococo"s

This place is rundown and doesnt offer much anymore but the stores that are still here are stocked and eager for business.

The only draw is TJ Maxx and Wisconsin Craft Market. The death of the strip mall is apparent by all the empty spaces.

This is a sad and declining mall. Its a TJ Maxx and a couple of craft stores. Probably wont be around in a few years.

Very poor parking options for handicapped access! The ONLY good aspect of this mall is Wisconsin Craft Market!

This is a good "little" mall. Only came here for T.J. Maxx. Not sure what else there is. Will follow-up.

Outdated mall with a limited selection for men. Women have more options and would recommend for them.

Mostly abandoned. TJ Max and a handful of other stores remain. Not really a pleasant place to be in.
