Just Local Foods is the best damn grocery store in town. Eau Claire is a big city, at least bigger than Blair, with many big box so-called grocery stores to select from. But instead of rows on rows of agribusiness processed foods, Just Local packs more wonderful, largely-locally sourced foods and related products into every square foot than other store: from craft beers to home-made soap, local really fresh eggs to seasonal cured meats, to loose spices and herbs to bulk orders. This store is simply in adventure in food growing and geography. Even if you don’t eat (and who does not), you can learn a lot about our world. Some people say that the prices are high; eat less and be healthy; and save a cow or carrot! If you need another reason to visit and shop here, enjoy the staff – all extremely personable, smart, knowledgeable, helpful, and almost too friendly and pleasant (but then we’re in the Midwest). Go find out, tell me if I am wrong.

I do most of my shopping here. We try to support local businesses and this is our favorite place to shop. The small size makes it perfect for picking up everything we need quickly but the store has a lot of great items available. Some of my favorite things to buy there are coffee, produce, chocolate, beer, gluten-free foods, cheese, bread and salsa. Some prices are a bit higher because the item is local and/or organic but for the things that I am able to find elsewhere (beer, organic canned goods, etc...) the prices are similar to what I would pay. If you prefer to avoid the mega groceries and are looking for great local food, this is the place to go. If the food wasnt enough reason to shop here, the service is great as well.

Dolce Dolente

Its amazing what is packed into that tiny store! Theres a lot of high-quality produce; most of it is grown locally and regionally. Ive never been disappointed by the coffee. Theres a section of bulk with most of the staples as well as prepared, boxed, and meat/dairy foods. You can even find some darned good Wisconsin beer in the cooler, stuff youd have to dig for if you didnt shop here. If I lived in Eau Claire, I suspect 90% of my food would come from here and the farmers markets. The best part is the fact that its staffed with progressive, conscious earthy types who are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.

As a co-op shopper at several co-ops in the Twin Cities and this one in Eau Claire, I find them a bit lackluster in supporting local farms and local food artisans. Some of my favorite local products cannot be found at this co-op, but instead they bring in (the same kind of) products from far away out of our region. Kinda interesting that their name is "Just Local"....

Nice little shop on a newly renovated corner in dowtown Eau Claire. Great local produce and meats as well as a wide selection of local beers. The people are always friendly and they always have something wonderful that ill have overlooked the time before - which keeps me coming back.

Very expensive with difficult to get in and out of the parking lot. The products and selection is okay but a high price. With the low overhead for the small store, you would think it be much more affordable and I understand its more local food. Just be ready to pay much more.

They have a great selection of local produce and meats, specialty items like nuts and spices, and a surprisingly large beer selection for their size. They also offer deli items (the soups in particular are fantastic). All of the staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

I stopped by here for some cheese on my cross country drive and oh boy... I wish there were more places like this in New England. Just local foods allowed me to get local treats and flavors of Wisconsin and the Midwest. I will definitely be back for more.

I LOVE this store. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Their prices are kind of high but totally worth it. They have all your local homegrown needs! Even carry some of my favorite natural soap brands and even have essential oils!

The staff is great but I do have a concern about the pricing of products. The products are local or more local than other stores but Menominee Co-Op pricing is way better. They have plenty of parking and decent selection.

Good place , however organic food is still expensive in USA, Europe has done a wonderful effort in maintaining low price and high quality. If you are an organic food fan move to Europe (Mecca for organic food)

Definitely try the chocolate milk if you go there. There is a great selection of local foods that are mostly organic. Very friendly staff as well.
