Hi, I separated from my husband due to domestic violence. I even got a temporary protection order. I removed him from all of our accounts. I went into Ashley Furniture in Tacoma WA as I was looking for a couch. I advised the sales person i was working with that I wanted to remove my ex from my account from being able to buy anything. He said yes Ill do that, go upstairs and see if you find a couch you would like. He collected all my information and said he would take care of it. I went upstairs but did not find anything I like. He instructed me to go online to get what I was looking for. He sent me on my way. I assumed my ex was removed. This was in early September. In October I got a notice that $3000 worth of furniture was ordered along with a credit inquiry on my social security number. I called the store and they said he came in and ordered. What? I explained to them that I asked him to be removed. They said to call Synchrony, which is the creditor. I did, and all they could do was close the account and refer me back to the store. The corporate office was no help. My credit is now ruined, the account is in collections and no one will help me. He knew he wasnt going to pay anything. I am a single mother, in school with 3 kids. He makes almost $5000 a month from his job and he has left me with no financial help. After everything I was offered $150 credit. I went in to use that credit today and was told that my account is closed. They explained to me I need to call Synchrony. Which I did again. Synchrony said no one can remove him off of my account unless he is there. They also said the store was not allowed to run my credit without me being there. I spoke to the manager and she told me that they are not allowed to remove anyone from the account unless that person is there. Ok....but your representative said he would do it. I did not know his name but I described him to her. She said well you dont know his name so I cant help you. I said, Ok, how is it that because your own employee was not trained correctly that my credit is now ruined and my account is sent to collections? I said I dont work for your company so how am I supposed to know what your policies are? She had no answer. I also wanted to know why they ran my credit without me being there. She said they are allowed to. I asked for something in writing that tells me they can and she has nothing. My credit union knows my ex and I by name, but they still will not allow me to run his credit for a loan or a refinance without his verbal permission. So why is this company allowed too? Its frustrating that Synchrony is putting it on Ashley Furniture and Ashley Furniture is putting it on Synchrony. But at the end of the day, I am the one being punished. It is just another way for him to abuse me in any way he can.

UPDATE - After writing this google review I received a phone call the very next day (Thursday) and we received our new chair that Saturday. I dont know why I had to take it to the internet but it did help our process along. After 1 year we finally got the chair we should have received months ago. I will say that Ashleys customer care for the typical customer is not good enough but taking it a step further they responded in a very timely manner and I am finally satisfied. ------- BEWARE!!! DO NOT PURCHASE at ASHLEY FURNITURE. Ashley Furniture has not resolve my issues with my so called "brand new" leather chair. We received our furniture in January of 2016. About a month into it, our leather recliner has not been right. The cushion on the seat is bunched up and the mechanism in that keeps you reclined does not stay back unless you are pushing on it. I have been saying since the get go that I believe this is a returned piece of furniture and I would prefer a new one but they have not helped. I had one repair man out early 2016 and waited and waited for over two months for parts to get here to schedule the repairman to come back and fix it. Unbeknownst to me, I was supposed to call the service department to have the parts ordered. So when the parts were finally ordered we needed to reschedule another time (taking time off work again) for them to come and fix it. When the next repairman came out in November he told me both parts ordered were the wrong ones. So he ordered me new ones or so I thought. I asked if I needed to call customer service to have them ordered and he said he had never heard of such a thing! It is now 12/27 and I still do not have parts, my warranty is about to expire and my chair looks terrible. I dont have time to sit around and call them every other week to see if they are doing their job. We spend quite a bit of money on this matching leather set and are disappointed especially with their lack of customer service. I am writing this review as I am sitting on hold for over 27 minutes. If you purchase from them, all I can say is good luck. UPDATE - after being on the phone for 34 minutes I was told that the parts that were ordered could take up to 6 weeks for delivery (excuse #1). Then I was told that they had my address wrong so they had the parts shipped back to a warehouse that is no longer an Ashley warehouse any longer (excuse #2). So now I have to call again tomorrow to see if they are being shipped to my correct address. The only thing that will make this right is a new chair in my living room period.

Our salesman Ashton at the Tacoma location was fantastic. Very calm, laid-back, friendly and helpful. I already knew what I wanted (dining table with 4 chairs) so the process was pretty painless. This last visit was a lot better than our other experiences. Previously (and Ive gone in there quite a bit) weve been pestered and followed around; were not given full info on the credit through snchrony and when we decided against it, got a stink attitude and even had one rep who tried to help us who all she could say was did i already help you once before? So needless to say this last visit warrants a 5 but overall the store itself warrants a 3. I opted to have my set delivered and it arrived today. The delivery men were pretty unprofessional and rude. They deliver and setup and really, the setup process was a few nails that we could have easily done. The first gentleman brought in the heavy base part and before even asking us to move some things around so he could get through, he banged it on the door, the recliner and our entry table. And it was not covered. If it was so heavy, and there are two of you, why didnt you both carry it in and be a little more careful? When the bf made a comment to please be careful and let us know if we should move some things around, we got the stink eye. Then when he came in to put a few screws in, it seemed he didnt have the right drill and the bf said excuse me, in which we got a rude what? We asked if he needed a different drill and he gave a terse no, that he was fine. It sounded like he wasnt drilling into the right holes but luckily he didnt do any damage. When they were outside bringing in the chairs, the bf went out into the garage and heard the one delivery man b**ching about him. How rude!! First you dont treat out product with any real care and then you get an attitude because we ask you to please be careful. Trust me, if the bf had been rude in any way I would have said something but we were both nothing but courteous. So the point Im trying to make is that give Ashley a try, they have decent products and if you go at the right time, you might benefit from an ok deal (but do your research). Not all the salespeople are vultures and there are definitely those worth working with. However, if youre able to take it home yourself, do so. The delivery men Im sure arent all this rude and inconsiderate but dont be surprised if you get one that is.
