Ive been a customer of Woodlawn for 15 years buying glasses for myself, my husband and my daughter. Ive had only good experiences with their customer service and the selection of glasses. They have been able to handle all the various insurance plans Ive had over the years. They always have done free repairs and can repair frames even after theyre completely broken (daugher in sports is hard on frames!). There are always cookies on the counter and toys to entertain /destract my younger kids while Im selecting and being fitted for my frames. They will call my ophthomologist if I didnt bring my latest prescription with me. They have always been quick between ordering and receiving the glasses. They always call me when they are ready. I especially appreciate the owners friendliness to me and my kids. He recognizes me when I come in. Their prices are competitive. I like that Woodlawn Optical is a locally owned small business. I believe it is important to patronize our local businesses otherwise we are left with big box stores where the product is low cost, the jobs are low paying, and all the profits go to big corporations. I stopped into Woodlawn Optical today just to ask if they could replace a broken nose pad on my glasses. I am not a customer of Woodlawn, and I had never stepped into the store before today. I was just looking for a quick fix so I could avoid driving to Costco (where I bought my glasses). Glen was so kind! He quickly offered to fix my nose pad and went above and beyond that. He replaced both pads, tightened the temples, and cleaned the lenses without asking for a cent. I was prepared to pay for the pad repair, but it was obvious he was just happy to help. In addition, he was kind to my 2 and 4 year old kids I had with me, welcoming them to a cookie, glass of water, and to play with the toys in the office. My 2 year old had the classic toddler snotty nose thing going, and as we were leaving he even wiped her nose. It was obvious he is a family man who values customer service and being a giver in the community. The next time I need glasses, I will head to his store first instead of Costco. Thank you Glen!

Terribly run place. The optometrist repeatedly wrote too weak of a prescription, then the owners blamed me for costing them money in both trial lenses and boxes of unusable lenses that I had returned unopened at their direction. When I finally received a non-blurry prescription, they provided me with fewer monthly lenses (only seven for one eye and one trial lens for the other eye - total) for my $150 insurance/copay annual hardware benefit, apparently in order to make up their costs (they said the newer prescription lenses were more expensive but I found them later at Costco for $14 per box of six). As for me, I incurred additional costs in hours of missed work time for the re-exams and a pair of glasses that I ordered elsewhere using their second incorrect prescripton, not to mention the aggravation of blurry lenses. The owners at the front desk came off as curt and dismissive from day one and were quick to infer blame towards me when I let them know about the poorly-fitting prescriptions.

I have been a client of Woodlawn Optical since 2006. Glenn and Anna have helped me many times with various eye wear problems such as broken piece replacements, new wear and any other eye glass functions. I have found their service to be of excellent value. I have tried buying my glasses from the big national chains, but every year the clerks change or replacement parts are not available. At Woodlawn Optical, I have received personalized care, which has greatly improved the quality of my life. Your client Stewart Armour

Came in get my glasses adjusted (didnt buy the glasses there) and Glenn adjusted them for free. I unfortunately got knocked in the face at a concert the next day, which bent my glasses FAR out of shape. Came in again and Glenn managed to fix them enough to be wearable (again for free). Great customer service and a friendly atmosphere, would definitely recommend Woodlawn to anyone in need of frames or repairs.

This is a great neighborhood store. Twice Ive gone in to get minor repairs done to glasses, and they did them for free even though I didnt buy my glasses there. They wouldnt even accept payment when I tried to give them money for it! I will definitely go here to get my next pair of glasses.
