This, is gourmet coffee. Service exceeds expectations. ***update*** may i start out and emphasize that this establishment has some of the best coffee in Washington and the West Coast. Unfortunately service did not meet my expectations when I asked to buy a bag of their coffee and have it ground for me. They have a policy not to grind coffee for people. This is the first time a roaster has not provided me with the service of grinding coffee that I purchased from them. Their explanation was that coffee must be brewed immediately after being ground. To some extent this is true. Unfortunately now I cant even have somewhat lackluster Gourmet Coffee on my travels.

Excellent coffee shop. Tried the pesto and goat cheese breakfast sandwich and it was most excellent. A little small for the hunger and $ I brought with me but overall very tasty. The cappuccino was one of the best Ive had in the city. Perfect ratio of coffee / milk and very carefully crafted. Like most reviews I thought it was a bit on the pricey side but the atmosphere and quality of the goods made it worth it. Staff was very prompt and nice as well.

Good little café with great staff. This is a great little stopover place for a quick caffeine fix. There is limited seating available and the cafe can be busy throughout the day. They have pretty good WiFi but if you need a power outlet there are only a few near the window seating. (On the plus side they have a great selection of music to work to). The coffee itself is a bit on the expensive side but it is delicious.

I had the lemon cake (superb) and an Americano (best Americano Ive ever had though granted I dont normally drink them) because the cappuccino was a bit pricy for me. I was hanging out and sketching in the cafe for a while and was eventually offered a free piece of chocolate cake that was fresh from the oven. Not sure why this cake was distributed for free but I dont ask question of free cake. It was incredible.

I work downtown, so Ive tried a lot of coffee places searching for the perfect cappuccino. No other place compares. Storyvilles cappuccino is perfectly smooth and robustly flavored. Most other coffee places fail because their beans tend to be over-roasted and taste burnt. Storyvilles cappuccinos have a very rich flavor, but lack the bitterness and burnt flavors that I so often find elsewhere. A real treat!

My boyfriend and I are visiting here and we were looking for a coffee shop to pop into. We came in and got cold brews, and then we were offered FREE chocolate cake. They were going around and cutting slices for all the guests sitting in the shop. The chocolate cake is the best I have ever had. I want it for my birthday. And the coffee was great with it.

While visiting Seattle, I wanted a coffee experience that wasnt Starbucks. Storyville was it. They brew a fresh pot of French pressed coffee every 15 minutes. No drip, no over priced pour-over. Just one blend, one roast and pressed. And the decor is modern and understated. I wish they had locations in Los Angeles.

Terrible coffee. The mocha tasted terrible and didnt even have the two shots I ordered in it. My latte was medicroe as well. Was looking forward to non Starbucks coffee but that was a mistake. If you are trying to decide where to go there is a Starbucks on the next block it will be cheaper and much better.

I enjoyed a superb cappuccino and an amazing pretzel bread breakfast sandwich several mornings when I was visiting Seattle last spring. I tried several other small coffee shops and this was the one we decided to keep going back to. I look forward to stopping by again the next time I am in town.

It looks like you take your coffee pretty seriously here, which of these roasts do you make your cold brew with? Its a mix of all of them. Well, it isnt very good, you might want to taste it sometime. Also Im not a granola connoisseur, but it seemed overtoasted.

Smoothest and best tasting coffee Ive ever had. Some people say the coffee isnt hot enough, but you can ask them to make it extra hot. I like the normal temp, since I like to guzzle my coffee. Wish I had four hands, so I could give this place four thumbs up.

Went for a work respite and had a great cup of coffee. The folks working the counter were cheerful, quick, knowledgeable, and quite helpful. They even brought out a freshly baked cake to share with the patrons that were present!

Best caffeinated product in the city. Best, most consistent and friendly staff in the city. Best vibe, decor and atmosphere in the city. Love this place, Im there every week. The decaf almond milk mocha will set you free. Bravo!

Wonderful gourmet drinks with non-dairy options available. First visit blew me away, but had inconsistent results with future visits. Extremely good choice for a cafe to attend regularly for very good prices.

Wonderful coffee, and knowledgeable baristas. A tad overpriced but you pay for the experience a little bit. The pastry I had was a little underdone as well. Overall wonderful coffeehouse. I will be returning.

If youre looking for a hipster Seattle coffee house, this is one of hipster-est! I find it kind of pretentious and over-priced, but I guess it depends on your attitude about this kind of vibe...

Nice spot on 1st avenue. Not a bunch of seating so grab something at the window bar when you see it. Coffee was great and took some home for later. Food was great. Had the breakfast sandwich.

Might be a little too "hipster" for some but personally I thought this place was quite cool. Good coffee, a trendy atmosphere (including a couple standing tables), and super friendly staff.

Calm music, friendly staff, comfortable lighting. Everyone just feels happier being there. Altho not a lot of space to work on a laptop. More of a sit and chat or read a book type place.

I had the cold brew and they gave us free chocolate cake while we were having our drinks! The cake and the coffee was one of the best food/drink pairings Ive ever had. So amazing!

Got a delicious mocha and had a nice, small conversation with the batista. Atmosphere was very nice with some good music and upscale coffee-shop decor. Would definitely go again.

Good coffee and nice decor. Theres almost nowhere to sit, so it feels like a place to grab coffee and go. During the summer expect it to be incredibly hot inside.

What a cool place! Great coffee-not acidic, fruity, very nice. Also impressive how such a small place could have a very impressive design -feels trendy, hip.

Storyville is known for their unmatchable service and this location is a perfect balance of just that with a quick on-the-go atmosphere.

Great service and tasty coffee. Best granola Ive ever had. Serve coconut/cashew milk as alternative to milk/soy. Very friendly staff.
