Not very good service. I stood around in the store for about five minutes, then someone finally said "well be with you in a moment". The store was not busy--there were about five employees and three customers on the sales floor. Three or four minutes later, a lady who had been standing behind the counter came out to help me, but only after I walked passed her a couple of times. Problem: she didnt know what she was doing. I came in with specific requests regarding types of shoes/what I know I need, but she tried to talk around that. I finally got her to get me a couple of pairs I thought might work, but she was in the storeroom for over five minutes (another sign that she didnt know what she was doing--it shouldnt take a well-trained shoe tech to find one or two pairs more than a couple of minutes). The other salespeople didnt seem to know very much about running shoe fitting either--none of the other customers were actually

Short: They dont know their products, they charge you on the down low, and I recommend you shop elsewhere. Ive had nothing but bad experiences with the Greenlake Location. My first visit was several years ago, where they outfitted me with the wrong sized shoe THREE times before I finally figured out what was wrong myself, and came in and bought the shoes I found online after my own research. - All their fancy technology doesnt make up for lack of actual running and product knowledge. Then, I came in last year and waiting 30 minutes not to be helped, but to be spoken to or acknowledged. Nothing like "hey well be right with you" or anything. Their team was clearly struggling to deal with a lot of customers at once. When we were finally helped, we were offered 5% off or something of that nature but then charged me on the down low for their VIPCLUB. I didnt want to be in this club, I wasnt notified I was being signed up for this.. So I called and asked to be taken off. THEN TODAY I WAS CHARGED AT $27.99 ANNUAL FEE. Im usually really understanding when things dont go right, especially since Ive worked in sports retail for many years. But I will not be shopping here ever again, and think its important for the public to know they should shop elsewhere as well.

Shoe Dog is a joke. Saw 4 very different runners all get the exact same prognosis; over-pronation. Skip it. All theyre doing is trying to sell their inserts. I love the selection of shoes, though. Well organized shoe wall. If you have any idea of what kind of shoe you want, there are plenty to try on. If you dont have any idea of what kind of shoe you want, pick the 5 cheapest and try them on. Great selection of running apparel, as well. Stuff you just cant find at a Sports Authority. The VIP membership is worth every penny if you are going to buy more than one pair of shoes over the course of the year. With the membership you can try a pair of shoes for 90 days. If you come back at day 89 and say they just didnt work for you, new shoes. No questions asked. Store is awesome in every way. Service sucks.

I had a great experience. First, with the VIP membership ($24.99/year), the prices for the two pairs of shoes I purchased were cheaper than anything I could find online. Without the membership, the prices would have been comparable to online stores. Second, I was assisted by a very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient staff member who did not act "salesy" or apply any pressure, even though I stayed 20 minutes past closing time. Even if I had not purchased the membership, I would have gladly purchased from Road Runner (rather than online) because it was nice to have the expert help in deciding which shoes were right for me and to be able to test them out in person. Overall, I was very impressed and would definitely return.

I purchased a pair of shoes at Road Runner today, after visiting their competitor several times and failing to find a shoe that fit. I have probably tried on hundreds of shoes over the last few days at their competitor, but the first one at Road Runner was a success. I found their analysis very helpful. The competitor simply asked me to run a few feet while watching, but Road Runner checks arches, measurements as well as your gait and pronation. The assessment was more accurate in finding a shoe for my wide, high-arched foot. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I think its a bummer that they charge for a membership but its worth it when you can finally find shoes that fit correctly! All in all, I am happy with my visit.

Ive shopped here a number of times, and yes, I bought the inserts. Maybe theyre helpful for some, others not. Bring them back if you dont like them. RRS has a very liberal return policy. Ive always gotten good service here, including today. I returned a pair of shoes that werent working for me. When I removed my insoles, they noticed that the ones I was wearing were sized wrong for the shoes I was in. Despite the fact that Id bought them years earlier, they exchanged them on the spot without my even asking. If thats not good customer service, I dont know what is. For those who have to wait five to ten minutes for any kind of service anywhere - stop being passive aggressive. Be an adult and ask for what you want.

Its so fascinating to read the wildly divergent reviews here. I walked in, got really friendly and helpful service. I bought a pair of Sauconys and got the custom inserts. My feet have never felt better while running. (I was also directed to the best pair of socks on earth. On sale.) I am a very, very novice runner. So maybe expert runners are struggling because their knowledge outstrips the sales reps? But its perplexing that so many people are reporting rudeness. I just got off the phone with the store, because its time for me to buy another pair of shoes (its been a couple of years, and they feel worn out), and the guy on the phone was friendly, helpful, and had the answers to my questions. Highly recommend.

My parents were visiting Seattle and my dads shoes tore and we walked in to road runner. First off the only thing the staff cared about was if we sign up for membership. They guy who helped us mentioned that about 3 times. In addition to that they were trying to sell us custom in-soles which we were not interested in however they were pushing for it over and over again. Finally when we went to the checkout the lady (super rude one) kept insisting again that we get membership because thats the only way we can return shoes. There are several stores in Seattle where they let you return shoes without a stupid membership (Nike, fleet feet, brooks, etc.). Im sure its a good store but the staff was pathetic.
