Have my birthday in August and I very clearly remember being handed my gift from another Ulta store last year. I had not even asked but when they scanned my card, they automatically gave me my gift. Fast forward to this year, I happened to shop at the Olympia store earlier this week. The checkout clerk scanned my card, gave me my stuff after I paid for it. I forgot to bring my birthday up and she did not even bother reminding me. I came home with my haul and while I was checking out the new products, my husband looked at the receipt, noticed my double points for my birthday month and asked what I got. I told him I had not brought it up with the checkout clerk and convinced myself that maybe she genuinely missed it. I was in the mall area today and wanted to pick up something small at Ulta. Waiting in the checkout line, I saw the checkout clerk hand the birthday gift to the customer in front of me and I remembered to ask. I was told that I need to show her the UPC code from the email that Ulta would have sent me. I was perplexed because the customer ahead of me hadnt even flashed her phone to the clerk. Anyway, I thought, maybe she was on a different status from me. The checkout cashier asked me to call the guest services and ask for the birthday email. I had some time on hand and so called them from the car. The guy who helped me sadly informed me that they were out of UPC codes that the corporate office had sent them and that they would get more the next day. I asked him to email me the next day and he said that company policy had been updated and so I would have to call again the next day and ask for the email. Like really! I have my Sephora card and even if I get just a nail color or eyeliner, they load my bag with samples and my birthday gift, if I shop there in August. I have enjoyed shopping at Ulta, both online and the store and also get salon services. But I guess I will have to look for some other place because there is no way I am going back. Ulta just lost a regular customer.

I was trying to try out the new salon but Im terrible with appointments! So I last minute called about and hour in a half before they closed In hopes of a cancelation and WALA!!!! I reach The Designer named Andi, she was as excited as me to fill the appointment. I went in with major dark brown grow out and needed to be blonde again. When I went In, she asked me all the correct questions that I didnt even know I wanted to hear. She did my hair in a way that processed it evenly and it still was the fastest appointment Ive had in years. She was super easy to chat with and also not too chatty lol. She asked me each time about certain options if they would cost more instead of surprising me at the end. Recommended products with product brands I already liked and new ones. My head even itches less than normal with the bleach! I will be going to her for ever now, I have two friends who cant wait to try her out!! Price is higher, but thats why I went to Ulta! And first time is 20%off which is actually a lot of money saved. Ill see if this lets me insert pics...

Salon Manager cancelled appt day before I was scheduled to have hair done so she could take a conference call. The nightmare began there. Since than long story short, I had been trying to re-book appt and reaching district manager to let her know about situation. In the meantime I booked and confirmed another appt with Salon Manager. It took 8 days for the district manager to get back to me and while initially helpful and offering half off my services, I was informed that because the Salon Manager was not comfortable doing my hair because I was an upset customer initially. Again, the day before my appt they are cancelling another confirmed appt and re-neging the offered compensation. BAD BUSINESS practices. Salon Manager needs to put on her big girl pants and realize that she will be dealing with upset customers from time to time. Is she going to fire all of her upset customers? Crazy! Never been treated this way anywhere.

This place is a joke. I just moved here from Alaska and used Ulta Beauty there for my waxing and hair needs. I came to this Olympia Ulta 3 times over the last 2 days. First they said they were all booked up but asked me to wait 45 min and I did, only for her to tell me her appt arrived and she couldnt fit me in. Made an appt right before closing per her instructions and when I arrived told me shes out of time. Scheduled an appt for first thing the next day, arrived and waited 20 min to be told one girl called out sick (again) and the other would be there in 45 min and I could see "if she could squeeze me in". Horrible customer service. Rude people and really a joke of a service. Wont waste my time here at all and will find somewhere worth my time and money. Super irritated.

I love ulta. I was a loyal online shopper and could not have been happier when they opened one in Oly. I love to go into the store and try out everything, find my colors, etc, then buy it online for those scent samples! I will say, the sale staff is impossible to find more often than not, but you shouldnt be afraid to ask for help if you need it. Its easy to be overwhelmed with all of the choices in the store at first, but once you start browsing its get easier. I love the salon. And Emily is such an awesome person. I love getting my hair done! I hope someone sees this and gives her the recognition she deserves!

Women seem to flock to this store like moths to a flame! Men seem to have the life and money sucked out of them from all the excessive lighting here! All joking aside, this is a generally high prices store for women that offer only a sprinkling of items and services for men. They do offer reasonable deals at certain times of the year, but beware... their coupons usually do not apply to fragrances which is really the only thing I would ever purchase here, but I never pay full price!

I have been in ULTA a few times hoping to find some makeup that would work for my uneven skin. Every time I walked in the staff made me FEEL as if I was to ugly or poor to help. They would assist other customers, while completely walking past me. Its really sad that they do this to thier customers, the people who help keep them employeed. Anyways...they should hire people who care about helping people. Just my opinion

Its nice having an Ulta store in Olympia; it is very clean and lots of products to choose from. However, I wandered around in there for over 20 minutes and nobody said hello when I came in, and nobody asked if I needed help finding anything. Doesnt every store say "Hi, welcome to... let me know if I can help you find anything"? Just poor customer service, I felt as though I were being ignored.
