First off, I was not super knowledgeable about tattoos, the process of getting one, or the after care prior to considering it. A few months ago when I was first considering getting one I designed with a personal meaning, the place I went to and was referred to by friends was completely judgmental that I wasnt real knowledgeable about tattoos. They just looked at me like "this isnt the mani & pedi Salon." Obviously I didnt just walk in thinking it would just be a fun store to go through.. I did my research on the proper care, what to look for in a good shop, etc. I was very disappointed in that place. When I found Deep Roots in Lynwood after moving here recently, I was really attracted to the atmosphere of the place. I did not want to get my tattoo done at a shop that made you feel like you were walking into a biker club. Deep Roots has a welcoming atmosphere, it was very sterile and clean, and my artist did such an amazing job on my tattoo! It turned out better than I could have even imagined! Definitely will go here again if I decide on another tattoo! Thanks for a great first tattoo experience Deep Roots in Lynwood!!

The actual piercing was fine. I got a triple frontal helix and the guy who pierced me was okay. A little fidgety but its a tight spot so it was understandable. I asked a lot of questions about what jewelry to use and if it was a good idea to get all three piercings at once or if I should get one or two at a time. The guy brushed me off and really just seemed to want to get me out the door. I had called earlier about the prices and was never told I was going to be charged for each back, bar, and stud of each earring. Went in to I would spend about $180 and ended up paying close to $300. Had a terrible infection weeks later, went in and the guy just handed me more sea salt and didnt want to answer any questions I had. Had to get them re pierced later at a different shop with different jewelry and only two that time. Terrible experience. Was so excited before and now never ever going back. An awful lot of bad service and money wasted.

I wholeheartedly agree with the other reviews that the customer service here was terrible and go to Slave to the Needle. The piercing experience itself was fine. Though they clearly have quality control issues as the piercer had to open about 5 different packages to get the correct size as they were all labeled wrong. After the piercing, the decorative front kept dislodging and falling out of the post. I went back to report the issue and was told, yeah, sometimes theyre defective. No offer to replace it. No offer to discount a replacement. $80 later and I have a new set of piercings that dont fall out. And after someone "had" to replace the piercings - i.e. put in a new pair of earrings that literally took two seconds, I was asked repeatedly to tip. No thank you. I can change my own earrings that I just paid $80 for.

My piercing experience was great, but customer service sucks. Every single time I go in there, they will not let me buy ANYTHING. Literally, I went in to buy the sea salt water spray right after I got my piercing and they told me I was not allowed to buy it because it was better for my piercing to be soaked. Then 5 months after I got one of my piercings I went to buy a new piece of jewelry, they then told me I could not buy anything because I havent wait at least 8 months. When I got the piercing done they said after 3 months I could change the jewelry. Then after 8 months of waiting with a different piercing I went in to get a different piece of jewelry and they told me I havent waited long enough to change it. Its straight crap and annoying, sooo Deep Roots in Lynnwood has officially lost my service.

Ive been coming here for my piercings since 2014 and have been exceptionally happy with all of my results. Kellan Smith has done my clavicle micro-dermals (4), Kali Taylor did my vertical labret, and both have stretched my ears (15/16" as of yesterday). They only stock the highest quality jewelry at average cost, they use to best (good anchor) micro-dermals, and the shop owners design and manufacture some of the most exquisite and beautiful body jewelry Ive ever seen! Kellan also does scarification, of which well be doing a session on my thigh in about 2 months. Ill post another update after that; although regardless, I cant recommend Deep Roots highly enough for piercings! *my tattooist is with a different shop, so no experience with their artists*

I got a body piercing done here not too long ago and the piercing experience was alright, but the people who work here are extremely rude. I had asked the person who did the piercing to count down (which helps calm my nerves) but he basically said no, and did it his own way. In addition to this, after I had payed and was leaving a tip, the cashier said "Oh, we normally expect higher tips than this." I was a little baffled, the piercing was ~$60 and the piercer didnt even acknowledge my suggestion to count down before the piercing. I was trying to tip them $5 to be nice, and they were very rude about it and tried to ask for a bigger tip. I ended up telling them $5 was all I had and left. Never coming back here again.

I got a tattoo done here awhile ago (about a year ago) and was happy with it at first but now I am not. I started having problems with my tattoo a couple of months after I got it, it was healed but it would swell up and get extremely itchy and irritated. I didnt think it was a big deal but to this day it is still doing it. The tattoo artist who did it was heavy handed even though he promised he was "light handed". My tattoo is now scarred In some places and Im still having some issues with it. I didnt like the attitude of the person who did my tattoo or how much they charged me for such a simple tattoo. This was my first and last ever experience with this tattoo shop.

Amazing experience overall. I am a repeat customer. From the moment I walked in to the moment walking out, I felt comfortable and confident with the everyones general knowledgeability of the trade and the piercers skill level. You are guaranteed quality jewelry with quality metal, and a sterile modification. Kyle did my daith today, and he was kind, efficient, and pierced me with ease before I had time to overthink anything or get anxious. I appreciated his perceptiveness and was once again happy to have a virtually painless experience! Its true: what you pay for a piercing is indicative of quality overall. Dont be afraid to invest in jewelry! Deep Roots all the way. ❤️

Different vibe from most other shops Ive visited. They accommodated a walk-in tattoo request for my partner and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely more commercial feel, and I wasnt surprised to hear that they have more than one location since it sort of felt like a franchise rather than a mom & pop place (which is good and bad: cleaner, less white-supremacy feel than most of the shops up north, but more sterile and missing character). Decent music and adequate waiting area seating, and I was invited by the artist to sit with my partner while he got his tattoo. All the artists seemed professional and competent and friendly.
