We have been coming to this store for many years now and have loved it. But Today, we have had the worst experience. We not only buy everything we need for our dogs here we have them groomed there as well. (always have) We had made an appointment over a week ago to have one of our dogs groomed this morning. We recently had our dogs vaccinations updated, and I had told the gal then that this happened. She said (like always and every other time ) "No problem we can call and verify with you vet) that was perfect and exactly what we new they would say., again, thats what they have always done. (They dont have too, but has always been nice that they did) so early this morning I called there as i was on my way, just to confirm we were ok. And I got Brittany (the "WHOLE STORE MANAGER") as she made sure I knew exactly who she was. And BRITTANY, made it very clear that they NEVER call vets for customers. And that they didnt do it for me either. I tried to explain that I had been coming in to that exact store for over 10 years and they have done it for every year up to this particular case right now. And she flat out told me that that was not true and they have never done it. I didnt really know what else to say at that point. Through all of this she was so so rude and disrespectfull I guess the only form of fairness on my part is to let everyone I know and they know and they know to never step foot into this store again. And if you read this I ask that you forward it to as many animal lovers as possible. Because if she is treating us like this on the phone how is she treating our pets when we leave them with her. Very upsetting, It is a very busy world these days and this was a huge huge deal for me and my family. I will be posting this on every social media site for as long as I can. So very upset. Terrible policies makes the customer service an absolute zero star experience. We have shopped here for quite a while & its fine. Its a supply store like any other. However, last week we purchased a 3 month supply of Sentry Pro XFT topical flea treatment. This stuff practically sent our Golden to the vet! We had to wash it off his skin ASAP. Well thats another story altogether. BUT...when I took it back, just asking for a credit toward buying Advantage instead...NOPE! "We dont allow returns/exchanges of medications that have been opened." WHAT!? Medications? This isnt a med, its a topical flea killer that was a horrid product for my dog. NOPE! The manager was nice, but wouldnt budge, "if I do it for you I have to do it for everyone." Well yeah, why WOULDNT you take care of your customers? She said I could pursue the makers of Sentry directly. WHAT? Why would I go through the time and trouble of that, I bought it from PetSmart! I respectfully explained to her that they are the ones set up to sell products and make a profit. I came into their store because I trust them. I bought the product from them!! Yes I have an issue with Sentry! But I want the return from PetSmart! Well...NO. This is a horrid business model! Are you kidding me?? They have now lost what will amount to thousands of dollars in business from my entire family (and friends) because they would not give me $40 in credit toward a $60 product I had intended to buy. Yes, I was actually going to spend more money with the exchange...but NOPE. Policy you know!! PetSmart SUCKS! Period. You cannot treat your customers like this. We are now sitting on a product we purchased, which burns our dogs skin, that they will not return. Shame on you PetSmart!!

The employees know nothing about their fish, and neither do they care. Their livebearers, shrimp, and snails are all dying. Last year, they decided to change their water source to soft water. But having soft water meant that a majority of their fish, shrimp, and snails were gonna be suffering daily. The soft water ruins their snails shells and makes their livebearers get shimmies (shaking and being motionless because of soft water). And once a fish has shimmies, it isnt always curable. They are selling fish with shimmies, and then the fish are dying, even if put in the proper water in their new homes. I asked about their warer hardness, and indees it is very low. I told them twice and their manager knows that the water is too soft. I told them 6 months ago that i will not buy their fish until they fix the problem. And to this day, they havent fixed it. Another day, i came in asking about a water hardening product. My tank is very large and 40 pounds of crushed coral isnt helping much. They started asking what my Ph is and said that i need it to be at 6 before they can help me. Well their advice was sooo bad (of course i didnt listen to them). Usually a lower Ph means a lower Gh, and i definetly didnt need that. If i made my Ph lower, my fish would have definetly died in a week or two. So it is obvious that the employees know nothing about fish keeping. They do not listen either when their fish are visibly dying in front of their eyes. They are ignorant about the fact that they are killing their stock. I do not buy fish from them anymore and only sometimes buy other products.

Wow.... Just wow. We took our dog in for a grooming and decided it was the last time. First of all... I have never run into an employee that was not extremely friendly and helpful. So thank you to most of the staff. That being said.... If a mistake happens, it happens. I do not judge a business if something goes wrong, fact is it happens. I DO judge a business on how they handle a bad situation. Like I said, we took our dog in for a grooming and when we got home and gave him a belly rub and noticed the tip of his penis had been sheared! Poor little guy was pretty bloody. Now on the plus side I contacted the store manager and she told me to bring him into their in house vet, on their dime to have him checked out. But that was it. They did not offer to refund what we paid to have our little guy go through what any guy can relate to, would be a extremely horrible experience. No cut in that area is a small cut! So yes, they did do what they HAD to, but nothing more. So the few hundred bucks we use to spend every year for grooming there will go elsewhere. As well as most of our pet supplies. Most things at petsmart can be found on Amazon for close to half the price.

To the people who wrote low reviews, for the most part, it sounds like you had a bad time once or twice and decided that was it, regardless of if you yourself actually know the policy. If you have ever worked in retail you would know that you cant just return an item for one customer because it actually does accumulate over time. Do your research before buying something as not all products will work for what you want or need. Chances are that you are also not that pleasant to deal with in how you respond to them. Ive seen plenty of people who didnt bother to even deal with looking at a policy before doing something and then get mad when it didnt go their way. A company is a company and actually the customer isnt always correct like a lot of customers think they are. Petsmart has done pretty well for me, they are generally friendly and offer a lot of services, I also love the fact that they adopt out the cats. Like any company though, they could do with some improvements however I do think the positive outweighs the negative in this case.
