My initial experience with Road Runner was good and so we decided to go there to get shoes for my wife. On our first visit we couldnt find anything that suited her. We tried 3 other locations including 2 in California without luck. Being a loyal customer we decided to go here again. The lady that helped us twice before was there today as well. She remembered us and showed us some shoes. But when we asked her to get a couple of pairs to try on, she started telling us how we had tried dozens of pairs last time and didnt like any (we had tried 4). And how she doesnt want to pull out another dozens of pairs because we are not going to like anything. She was hesitant to even give us anything to try on. We were hardly helped after that. We finally bought the one we liked but the experience was awful this time. So the treatment for a returning customer depends really on $ from your previous visit.

They do not convey that when you sign up for the VIP that there is a start up charge as well as an additional yearly charge to your card. They do not convey the price of the insoles when you purchase them and they do not convey that if you do not like the shoe you cant return them. Saying "If you dont like them bring them back" tells the customer that you can try them out and then return them if you dont like them. This is not the case!! You cant return them if they have been worn. Very deceitful. When I called the store to try to return them the store manager was rude. These shoes hurt my feet and I want to return them. I do not want to exchange them anymore because of how manipulative they are at point of sale for shoes and because of how rude they are when you have a problem.

They really want you to be a VIP member but never did they mention they will charge you $20 for the VIP membership. Luckily for me I bought shoes and accessories for $250 so my discount with the VIP membership was $25. So in the end I saved $5 for a $250 purchase, its nothing. BUT! If I had bought a cheaper shoe and accessories for less than $200 my discount would be lower than the cost of the membership so I would end up paying more than the price of the shoe and accessories. I doubt they would tell me that before I swiped my card. They didnt also mention that the insoles cost $77. The shoes they recommended me are very nice but their lack of honesty forces me to put a very bad review.

Ive been to a few local running stores--Super Jock n Jill, Everyday Athlete, Run 26, and compared to them, Road Runner staff isnt as knowledgeable or helpful. The sales staff kind of let me make my own decisions--so they dont offer an "expert" opinion on shoes. I dont even remember them watching me run or having me run outside, but maybe I forgot. I go to other running stores so I can get the advice of someone who runs and knows about running to evaluate how I look in shoes, and I dont get that at Road Runner. This is probably why even though Ive shopped it for shoes and CW-X, Ive never purchased here.

Terrible customer service, I was talked to like I was stupid upon returning a pair of shoes by an employee named Artise, I guess this how they treat all VIP customers (He put $21.00 on CC and then put half on a gift card and then back on my CC?) confusing? He seemed incompetent to complete a return perhaps this is why he gave me grief about it. The staff were extremely rude. Its funny I love all the other locations. This location needs some serious help!

Great Customer service! Yeah they start to build you a custom insole when you arrive and ask you if you want to sign up for their VIP, but at no point do they force you to purchase either. They let my Girlfriend and I try on multiple pairs of shoes while we were there, they even continued to help us with our shoe purchases as well as provided feedback about our form 45 minutes AFTER they had closed the store. I am bringing these guys a massive Pizza!!

City Runner

Great store for your runner evaluation. The shoe selection here is consistently picked over. The customer service is the worst Ive ever experienced in a running store. They are understaffed mid-week, weekends and evenings. The front counter is unattended so you have to wait to purchase items, not sure how that helps their bottom line!! It is a beautiful store location but lacks the support necessary for good customer service.

Was extremely happy with the knowledge and willingness of the staff. They took their time helping me figure out exactly what shoe/insole was right for me. I didnt feel rushed and the whole experience was great! The shoes fit me so well, Im looking forward to hitting the pavement soon! The prices were fair, you are getting top quality, so it isnt going to be super cheap, but I would say well worth it.

Very knowledgeable staff and an incredible selection. I highly recommend the VIP program. The 90 day return policy on shoes regardless of use is amazing. Their fit program narrowed down the selection but I still went through 4 pairs before I found the right fit. No problem here!!

Service was incredible, super friendly, super helpful. The shoes and soles they fitted me for are the most comfortable pair of running shoes Ive ever worn. Theyre pricey, but if you do a lot of running, the comfort, let alone the ergonomic health benefits, are worth it.

One of the best place to get your sports shoes. They have a treadmill with camera installation to analyze your running style and find out any problems of you have. Their staff is super amazing and patient enough to help you out with your selection.
