August 10 2016 After buying shoes in this store for years, I am appalled. My friend has a small toy service dog, it is properly tagged, legal in every way as a certified service companion. This little dog was sitting in my lap ( I am 70 years old) my friend was about to purchase 3 or 4 pairs of shoes. To my dismay, while sitting on the side, some clerk came to me and said you cannot have that dog in the store. I showed this gal the tag (ID as a service Dog) She demanded that this dog must have a full vest which is nonsense especially in this heat. I told her again, this is a tagged service dog, I even have medical documentation in the car. which we have never been asked to present because it is against the law for some clerk to ask someone for medical details. I would say to people never support any store that is hostel to people with disabilities. Never ! I hope that after I file more complaints and as more review get published that being dumb to customers who are not bothering anyone. Is going to cost you. I know the laws and these people are rude, improperly trained and this shop should be shut down. This rude clerk demanded that I leave. Again after I told her this Dog is covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act and it is a legal service Dog. This is not a food store or any delicate place. She was wrong. She said you must go so we did. I will file a complaint with the BBB and under the Americans Disabilities consider more action. Please do not shop at this store again. FC Chico California

long time customer and nice selection but they dont uphold quality or do customer support we bought a $50+ pair of shoes that started to fall apart on my 4 year old in 1 month and less than a dozen uses but even with proof of purchase the shoes are "Too worn to exchange" The soles of the shoes were obviously coming free from the rest of the shoe and rinestones were falling off but the tread still perfect and the inserts not marked more than very faint. We owned an almost identical pair for a year before this one and they are a sturdy shoe. More than likely the glue used was the issue and was cause for defect replacement. Ive been happy to spend saltwater sandals and converse money local for my 2 and 4 year old for 4 years but I feel Amazon will back their sales where this business will not and so that is where shoe money will go now and Im kind of sad about it.

A sales associate went above and beyond to retrieve my purchase information, I had lost my receipt; he was successful after about 10-15 min. and gave me the store credit. I have found if you work "in partnership" with sales people, understand their jobs, you will have great service. Expect service but not servants. This shop has a wide range of quality, prices and styles from which to choose. This wide range of products cannot be found elsewhere. The prices are competitive and frankly, amazing. I have been shopping at H&S for over 10 yrs. If H&S were not here, whats left, Urban Sole (great but expensive), Payless (poor quality) and JCP (good, limited selection).

I used to love this store it was the only shoe store in town I would shop. Then I went in found a great pair of shoes and asked a worker if they had my size she took the shoe and NEVER RETURNED! After 30 min I went looking for her she was working the register!! I asked what happened with my shoe she said "Oh, sorry we didnt have them in your size" She just left me standing there for a half hour and never bothered to come back and tell me!!! Who does that!? Thats horrible customer service!!!!!

Heel and Sole in Chico is my favorite shoe shop, hands down.Their amazing selection as well as the top notch sales associates make buying there a great experience every time. To top it all off, its a nice feeling to be able to buy locally and support a great business!

This store is a labyrinth. Theres towering walls of shoes, several styles and colors. But its nearly impossible to get assistance, and I spent most of my visit here lost, looking for a clerk. I love shoes, but this place is too difficult to navigate.

Shoes, shoes, shoes! Shoes for everything. It can almost be overwhelming, but theyre fantastic. The sales people are very helpful especially considering how busy they ALWAYS are. They go out of their way to help. Great prices, LOVE the sales!

We went in to get shoes for our daughters... asked if they had anymore selection in sizes and were told no that we should shop at Payless where the shoes were cheaper. ...place was being run by a bunch of snobby high school students!
