I agree with the previous reviews. I will say that the store itself appears clean and like a typical Joann store; However, upon walking in to this particular Joanns I feel like there is a hostile environment. I get the impression no one likes working there. Ive met the manager and she seems like a sweet lady but doesnt have the skills to run a business like this. Not all, but most of the employees look ver sloppy and unkempt (along with the manager). I prefer Joanns to Michaels in some aspects but I try to avoid Joanns altogether now because of past experiences Ive encountered with the negative staff and just pure lack of motivation and service. A girl behind the cutting counter was asked to go get a particular fabric and it took her literally 20 minutes going back and forth. Yes, there was a line but it didnt seem to phase any of the employees. Also, Ive gone in there on two different occassions looking for fabric/lace and they told me they they are still unpacking stuff and to come back. Oh ya... an employee raised her voice and publicly called me a "liar" when I went and talked to the manager about the poor service.

The Burda patterns went on sale today so I stopped by the Woodbridge store to purchase Burda 6851. Several of the Burda patterns were sold out including the one I was looking for so, I asked for a rain check. I was informed by the cashier the store no longer issues rain checks for sales merchandise she then called the manager, Chris, who reiterated what the cashier said. Im not surprised by the the poor customer service at this store it seems to be the standard not the exception nor, am I surprised that JoAnns Fabrics has to continue to close stores. Im sure their history of delivering poor service has contributed to their financial situation. Hancocks Fabrics will honor the sales price in JoAnns sales flyer so I will purchase the pattern at Hancocks. Your lost JoAnns ;-)

I agree with previous reviewers. Typical Joann store, clean and organized, but the service is horrendous. Stopped in here to pick 1 thing up, when I got to the checkout line, there was no one in line, but the cashier was chatting with a friend. I know she knew I was waiting, because I she looked right at me when I entered the line. I stood back patiently and waited for them to wrap up their conversation, well that didnt happen. They continued chatting for at least the next 5 minutes, the cashier wasnt even trying to stop the conversation, no courtesy at all. Finally, I just walked up to the counter where the cashier was, she didnt even apologize for ignoring me. Ill be shopping at Michaels from now on.

I have never been so appalled at the lack of customer service anywhere. After wandering around for 30 minutes, looking for an employee to assist me, I finally went to the fabric section (which is not the section I needed) and asked the lady cutting fabric to direct me. She seemed to have no idea what I was talking about and waved me back to the craft section. After explaining to her that I had looked all over the craft section, she waved me off and said "Look again, if we dont have it, we dont have it." I am disgusted by the amount of disrespect and the lack of concern for their customers. I have received better customer service at Walmart.

Really want to like this store. Generally I find the staff at the cutting counter and register friendly, but if you need sewing help, or assistance finding a product, you are pretty much out of luck. Also find the fabric, especially the cottons, so packed on the shelves that you cant get the bolt off the shelf! And if you do, you will never be able to get it back in again! A staff person told me they cant leave anything in the backroom, so they have to "pack" the shelves with all the inventory. I wish the store was more focused on the fabric, sewing, quilting end of the business and less on the craft side.

I went to purchase some Patriotic fabric. The sign said "40% Off Patriotic Fabric". I selected the fabric, had it cut and noticed that it was priced at the regular price. The lady who was assisting me was very polite. However, one if her co-workers interjected her unsolicited and overtly condescending comments about how I had the wrong brand and what the sign said. Rude and very unfriendly. Needless to say. I left the fabric as well as the other notions there. if youre up for bad customer service, go to Jo-Ann Fabric on Smoketown Road in Woodbridge, VA!

Very helpful, great experience. I am clueless when it comes to projects and the ladies at the cutting section were super amazing. I read the reviews and prayed I would get the ladies in a helpful mood, Im grateful they were extremely helpful. The lady measured and cut the material I needed for redoing my dinning room chairs. I really liked the material and regardless of the price I was going to make the purchase. Without me asking the lady let me know about the coupons available I received a fantastic deal. Happy customer.

Horrible service! Two ladies cutting fabric with 5 people waiting. Fabric was cut, asked for foam and that it needed to be taken off a tall shelf. Lady called and asked me to wait. Waited 5 minutes and then tracked down a person to help. Waiting again to have the foam cut because the lady moved on to help other people. One cashier and the line is down the store... Took way too much time to grab items needed! The employees see unhappy and the two ladies cutting fabric argued in front of customers.

I agree with June 4th. Anita does not have the personality to be a manager. She was very rude, and unhelpful. I found Brian to be MUCH more personable, and very easy to speak with. Even if he didnt know where something was, he helped me find it. He made my experience MUCH better. The had a great selection of yarn, and the paint was much cheaper (but same quality) as Michaels. If it had a more friendly environment, I would like it MUCH better.

Wanted some information on a sewing machine. None of the employees could even tell me the difference between each machine except for the price. The manager was not even decent enough to personally talk to me. The cashier proceeded to ignore me, ended up returning the merchandise. Complete lack of respect to their clients.

The selection is there, and that is why Im giving 2 stars. Everything else has been very disappointing. There is never a knowledgeable sales person around, and they actively try to avoid letting you use any coupons. Its very frustrating.

Framing Department is the best around. I have gone back over 10 times and had over 25 prints framed and everyone has been perfect in every way. Framer takes great care to help you deside and offers suggestions but is not pushy

I agree with all the rewiews! They are not helpful and do not like their jobs OR their customers. This is a bad economy and this people are sending customers away! And the manager is very rude!
