I honestly couldn’t be more satisfied with the entire experience at Triology Tattoo and with Clay Thames from the moment I walked in the shop just to check it out to the minute I walked out on the day of my last session. I don’t have a lot of tattoos and I didn’t know how the process of getting a big, customized tattoo worked. I’ve been in other tattoo shops and it can be very intimidating for someone like me. But everyone at Triology Tattoo was incredibly helpful and personable and they didn’t make me feel like an idiot for asking how everything worked. They answered every question I had with a polite and friendly attitude. I loved the atmosphere and the vibes that everyone had. I knew from that moment that I had chosen the right shop. For an artist, I did a lot of research to find Clay. I knew I wanted quality realistic roses so I sat down one day and googled almost every single tattoo shop within an hour radius of Chesapeake and looked through all of the artist’s picture galleries of their work. I narrowed it down to a few that did pretty good realistic roses. But for some reason, Clay’s work just really stood out to me. I also had someone recommend him to me. When I met up with him for my tattoo consultation, I brought pictures of different ideas so he could have an idea of what to draw up. He respected how I wanted my tattoo to look, but he also gave me very honest and practical advice about what would and what wouldn’t look good. I highly respected that and the fact that he wasn’t about the money and would just tattoo anything I told him to. I could tell that he knew what he was talking about, from the sizing and position, to the body part I was getting it on and how it would compliment my body structure. Clay is extremely friendly, personable, and he made me feel so comfortable during the tattoo sessions. He went above and beyond to make sure I was at ease and not in pain, and he has great conversation too so the time went by fast and I forgot about the pain most of the time. He is an amazing, talented tattoo artist who knows what he’s doing. Coming from an anxious and cautious person, I fully trusted him to tattoo on me. I would recommend him and Trilogy Tattoo to anyone and everyone. He is now at Trinity Tattoo due to becoming so popular and having a long waiting list, but the same people own them. 100% happy with my decision of tattoo shop and artist ☺

I had been thinking about getting this tattoo for 3 years, but was procrastinating. I have had some bad experiences in the past with tattoos done on walk-ins, which were finally fixed by a talented artist named Art when I was stationed in Guam. That was 15 years ago. Since then I’ve been very picky about who was going to do my ink; so much so that I hadn’t had anything done in the last 15 years. So when I told my wife about this tat that I wanted, but didn’t think I’d ever get done, she up and booked me an appointment with Trilogy. She told me it was at the mall, and like I’m sure you’re thinking now I said “at the mall? Really!?! I don’t know.” She showed me the website and I was impressed with the portfolios I saw. So I figured a consult wouldn’t hurt. When I showed up I was impressed with how classy the lobby… waiting area… boutique(?)… front area was. The ladies at the front desk were extremely polite and knowledgeable. For my consult I spoke with Scott and showed him my concept. In only a few minutes he understood what I was looking for, simply said it would be “no problem” and I was set up for the next day to get it done. The next day we got started early and Scott was ready to go. He had a stencil worked up and asked for my approval. I liked what he had done with the concept and we got started. When we got back to the studio area I noticed that it was very clean and set up so that each stable (it has a barn style door) was very private, which I’m sure comes in handy for tattooing those sensitive areas… I am extremely pleased with what Scott worked out for me. Our collaboration worked out great and I couldn’t be happier with the whole experience. It turned out even better than I had imagined it would. The price was extremely fair and the end results were amazing. The only down side is that I’m moving shortly and now that I know what Scott and Trilogy can do I wish I had time to get the rest of my backlog of tattoos completed. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone and will hopefully have a chance to work with them again. Don’t let the mall throw you off. When you step inside you’ll realize how brilliant it really is.

Trilogy Tattoo treats you as a valued client. This is my third tattoo shop and there is absolutely no comparison in customer service, professionalism, and quality. I wont ever consider going anywhere else again! The friendly and welcoming customer service begins the moment you walk in. The ladies at the front desk are great! Ive called a lot of tattoo shops only to be made to feel like Im waisting their time. At Trilogy, the girls took the time to explain the scheduling with me and to answer all my questions. Ive had three little tattoos done before but this last one was a lot bigger, and after a terrible customer service and painful experience at a tattoo shop in Norfolk, I was very nervous. At Trilogy, however, the girl at the front desk made me feel extremely comfortable and eased my anxiety. Clay did my tattoo. Super nice, respectful, talented artist! He was always concerned for my comfort and made sure that I was handling the pain ok! He put me at ease and was very professional. He took the time to explain what he was doing! I absolutely love my tattoo! Clay Thames really took what I wanted and created a beautiful peace of art. I could not be happier! Do your research! And if theres a wait for the artist you want, wait! Dont go somewhere else! Its worth waiting! The tattoo shop is spotless and they are very concerned with your aftercare. Clay took the time to explain aftercare and its importance. Theres just no comparison to other tattoo shops I have been to...customer service and professionalism! Not only will I have this art for the rest of my life, but the memory of a great experience! Thanks, Trilogy Tattoo!

Their work is phenomenal but let me tell you what...they jack up admin wise, pin it on you and then you get told the manager is going to call you but things have been really busy around here (I had to call to inquire about when I might hear from her). Basically, they claimed I no call/no showed an appt this week when they were supposed to take it off the books because they switched me to another artist, then he said he needed a lot of time to draft my piece and my appts wouldnt start until Sept 1st. But no, Im lying to just to get my money back, right? Ive worked patient/customer service for 15 years...you never make a customer feel like their time and presence is not valuable buy saying were basically too busy to get to your issue. Listen, Ive worked major headquarters and a clinic with 150+ patients a day in person alone, dont tell me about busy/hectic...but you never tell someone you or your supervisor are too busy to be dealing with you. Also, having booked appointments for a living, its a pet peeve when someone doesnt show up so why would I do that? Then they said I shouldve gotten an email and a text reminder and do you think I did?! Of course not...but no, this is on me, right? Now Im out $125, they can tell the artist thats $700+ hes not getting and here I am writing a really disappointing review. Again the work is great but cover your butt and be prepared for some administrative shenanigans to be placed in your lap, at cost to you.
