This is actually a review of Red 5 artist, Jason Adkins. I originally encountered Jason in Ohio before he sadly moved to Virginia Beach. He was tattooing a friend of mine and I showed him my really bad tattoo and he said he could fix it. He offered suggestions, listened to my ideas of what I wanted and really saved my sleeve that I dreamed of having. Then I had him work on my 2nd sleeve. His professionalism, artistic ability and his willingness to arrange work on me based on my availability was nothing but pure bliss! I would highly recommend him to anyone based on his artistic ability, his attention to detail, professionalism and all round friendship! He truly treats everyone like a friend and not just another paycheck!

Ive gotten tattooed by Rob like five times, and every time he has done my work it has been exceptional and beyond what I ever expected. His color in the tattoos he has done for me have been awesome. Hes a very talented artist and I would recommend him to anyone that likes his style of tattooing. I currently had a bit of a hiccup with him transitioning in to Red 5 tattoo with an appointment slot being double booked but he made sure to make it right and I greatly appreciate that. He knows I am trying to get certain things done in a certain time frame and also knows I work a crazy schedule with working in military medicine. I look forward to seeing what he can get done for me in the future.

Had my first tattoo done here just the other day and had a great time! The artists are very respectful and professional, the artist I had helped me out since I was a bit nervous being my first tattoo and all. But both my artist and the other in the room who was working on another customer were having a good time and making me laugh while I was getting the tattoo done. And after it was done they sent an email to inform me about the aftercare which was very helpful. I also sent an email with a question and they emailed me back in no time! Awesome place, definitely coming back for more in the future and definitely recommending to all my friends! Thank you guys!

My friend and I happened to show up during a time where we were able to get in right away. We had the choice given to us of three different artists that were free. After discussing my piece with Jason Adkins, I knew that he was the artist for me. He did an absolutely gorgeous job, very laid back, yet professional at the same time. The gal at the front desk, Megan, was an absolute blast. She kept in fun and fresh while we waited for our drawings to be done. The shop itself is very classy, and comfortable. Its not some smokey little shop or a hole in the wall. I will absolutely be back to see Jason again!

Jason Adkins does fantastic work. I was overseas and had to choose a shop and artist based entirely on reviews and recommendations. His portfolio (available on red 5s website) speaks for itself and he did a great job working with me on my idea and design. The initial session was about 5 hours during which time he did great work starting a half sleeve. Hes not "heavy handed" and I wasnt sore at all the next day. Ive had numerous compliments on the piece and a lot of questions about who my artist was. I look forward to having him do more work in the future.

Art is great, they do a great job, they are just really high on prices, they quoted $125/hr to me, took under 2 hours and charged me $350... math doesnt add up... i didnt even have art work or shading... just lines and bkack.... the easiest and cheapest.....cheap tattoos are like $30/hr... so theyre already high on price, but they are good... but no one is good enough for $200/hr ...youll price yourself out the game.... Bottom line... shop other places first... they have to pay for the overhead at this pkace, youre going to pay WAYYYYY too much

Jason Adkins has done all of my tattoos. Ive worked with him for 24+ hours and he is amazing. He has tattooed for over 15 years and is very knowledgeable about his craft. If its your first time or you are a tattoo pro Jason is the guy to go see. His work is unbelievable. I dont go anywhere without either me or my friend getting stopped, and asked where we get our work done. Hes an artist and a true professional. I wont have my work done by anyone else.

Came in on a Saturday as a walk-in to get a forearm piece done and Im nonetheless impressed with my artwork. My artist was very helpful and patient as we had to keep redoing the rough draft to make sure we got placement right, but everything was okay! The studio itself was very clean and kept up, no sanitary or health concerns there. The front desk receptionist was extremely nice and helpful with taking care of me. I vouch for Red 5!

I had my first tattoo done by Jason Adkins. I wasnt sure what to expect going into it but Jason was very helpful when I asked him questions and during the whole time he was tattooing me. I was able to tell him my ideas and he was able to draw it out exactly how I pictured it in my head. He is very nice and is able to tattoo exactly what you want. I recommend him to anyone getting their first tattoo or their hundredth tattoo.

Lorin Hay took my concept and brought it to life better than could have imagined. His work is very clean and clearly stands out as the best ink I have. He was very friendly and professional and made the experience as comfortable as possible. I will definitely be returning to Red 5 because of my enjoyable experience with this artist. The guy was nice. Got tattooed here on a whim. The lines arent straight. Got a basic piece but the lines arent straight. I know I came in on a walk in but Id rather come on on an appointment if it means getting straight lines. Love the tattoo just not how the lines look. Ill have to shop around better next time :/

This shop is the best around! If you have any doubts, the proof is in the pudding.... They owned nearly every award category at this years VA Beach Tattoo Festival! They just added Jason Adkins too! This guy is a beast! Hes been working a left arm sleeve for me! Check them out and go! You wont regret it!
