I went to the Ulta Salon this past Tuesday to get my hair colored and cut. I told her I wanted my hair an orangey red. (its currently a brownish red and hasnt been touched with color in over 10 months) I politely tell her that this is what I want. She shows me darker reds. Finally after arguing a little bit she convinces me on a brighter red (thats only semi-permanent because they didnt have permanent in the color I wanted!) but shell mix in some of the bright orange permanent to give it more that color. She then asked me if I wanted some orange highlights? "Why cant I have it all over?" I ask. She cant answer me. I ask if they cost more, she says yes. I told her I only brought enough money for the cut and color and her tip. Throughout the entire experience she CONSTANTLY was asking if I wanted to do this or that or have this or that, but for a price. I had to tell her FOUR times that I didnt have that kind of money, and still at the end, she asked me if I wanted to buy any product. It made me livid. After she colored my hair (a very very very dark red, nothing NOT EVEN CLOSE to what I wanted) she proceeded to cut it and did a BEAUTIFUL job. What bothered me is any other salon I have been to they ask how I wear my hair on a day to day basis and how Id like them to style it. Not Mitzy!! (or whatever the hell her name was) She proceeded to flat iron it. I dont flat iron my hair. It makes my head look like a pin compared to my body. When I left, fuming, I talked to a couple of hairstylist friends and they told me the exact process they would have done to give me the color I wanted, or at least very very similar. They encouraged me to call the manager the next day. The salon manager wasnt in but the store manager told me she would call me back and tell me when a good time to come in and get my hair fixed was once she got a hold of the other lady. I have yet to receive a phone call. ALSO, I have never colored my hair with a semi-permanent. I had no idea that it comes out a little bit after every time you wash it. I cant blow dry my hair, I let it air dry, which I told her along with never having used semi-permanent, so when I got out of the shower and let me hair down over a brand new white top, I had huge orange stains all the way down that I didnt see until someone pointed it out. It would have been a nice warning from her... EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE.

My thin, poorly shaped and over-plucked brows were in desperate need of attention and I didnt know where to go. I took to the internet for insight and came across some reviews for my local Ulta, and many of them referenced this magical brow wizard named Caitlin. My instincts told me she was who I (and my sad brows) needed to see. I called the store and just by pure luck she was working. Fate!! I was able to make a same day appointment and took off to see her. She did not disappoint. She had me at "goth princess". Caitlin has a great sense of humor and made me feel at ease despite my nervousness and embarrassment (you guys... my brows are rough... No lie). I love that she was so knowledgable and passionate about her work. She discussed the best course of action to get my brows to a good place and mapped them out. She showed me what Id never seen before; there are hope for these babies! I left with feeling educated about what I needed to do and excited about the possibility of having beautiful, fuller brows. I definitely recommend her and Im happy to add to the multitude of great reviews that sing her praises. Shes definitely the Brow Guru! So go see her. NOW. Youll be glad you did!

Horrible experience. Went in after a "bleaching disaster" and some of my hair was very damaged from bleaching. I was going to get a deep conditioning treatment, some inches off, and my hair colored the way I originally wanted it. First thing the lady did was speak slow and repetitively, as if I am a young child. Not a good way to speak to your client. Second, after seeing my hair, she continued to try to convince my to get more than three inches off my hair and have it dyed any color besides the color I wanted (what is the difference between purple and silver? None... Still a hair color). She then brought in another employee, and spoke with her about her idea, the entire time telling me how bad and ugly it looked. The other employee agreed awkwardly with the lady, so as to not start anything, but it was very uncomfortable for me. So I ended up saying no thanks, and went somewhere else to get my hair done. Im not about to pay these rude people for something I can get done better with a nicer person. Worst Ulta experience in my life, and I will not be returning.

I went to ulta to find a last minute Christmas present and while there I also had my brows waxed at the salon. This was my first time at any ulta store, after one associate directed me to the salon she asked if there was anyone available to do a waxing, the guy who ended up doing my eyebrows looked at the girl to directed me back there and told her he was getting ready to go but he guessed that he could do it really quick. He got it done quick alright my left eyebrow was very painful after all was said and done, I figured out why, The guy burned me with the wax and now I have a blister under my eyebrow, not cool. Not to mention that the waxing costed $21, I can go to a nail salon that does waxing and have it done for $10. At checkout they asked me if I wanted to add a cash tip for the waxing, I told the girl no because of what happened and I didnt even get so much as an apology.I got what I initially set out to get but Im definitely not going back to the salon for any services especially waxing. I will however go back for makeup, beauty tools and fragrances.

I came in to buy some gifts for my girlfriend. As soon as I walked in the site I had no idea what to buy quite frankly. But I was quickly approached by a employee named Brooke. She was very polite asked good questions and helped me pick what she thought my girlfriend would like. And when my girlfriend received her birthday present she was not only surprised but over joked with what I had bought her. It was exactly what she wanted. I thank brooke for her patience and effort to provide some of the best customer service iv ever received anywhere.

Love this store; better than Sephora! The staff is extremely helpful and not "snobbish" as Ive noticed in the Sephora locations. ULTA carries a very wide variety of products; from top of the line "premiere/prestige" skin care/make-up products, down to the widely popular and mainstream cosmetics and skin care that you will find at drugstores and mass merchandiser stores. So much to choose from and look at; I could browse this store for a couple of hours before making my purchase just looking around at all of the goodies!
