I went shopping at your Giant store last night at about 6:50pm. My wife called at 7:11pm (cell phone log) and asked me to hurry home. I picked up two more items on the way to check out and waited in line. There was a guy in front of me who was trying to pay for a six pack of beer with a $10 gift card, but the cashier said there is only $1.38 left on it and he needed to pay the balance of his order. He exclaimed that his mother gave that gift card to him for his birthday and that it was bran new. The cashier reasonably countered that someone must have used it and he said, “Are you calling me a liar!! I want to speak to you manager right now!” I picked up a magazine and began to read. The manager arrived after several long minutes and tried to reason with the man, but he was desperate to get free beer and couldn’t be reasoned with. He asked for the real manager and then later he asked for the “big guy with the beard.” That fellow finally showed up after a several long minutes, and by this time I had finished one magazine cover to cover and was on my second. I requested that they please cancel his order and talk with him somewhere else so that I could be checked out. I had $300 worth of food and didn’t feel like moving it all off of the conveyor belt. The cashier said that she couldn’t cancel his order. The manager tried unsuccessfully to put his $1.38 back onto his card. I was prepared to buy the idiot his beer, if he would only admit his mistake, but by this time he was really ticking me off. Your managers on site were also ticking me off. My wife called again at 7:40 and asked why I wasn’t home yet, and I told her that I had been in line for ½ hour. I finally packed all of my stuff up and went to the self check out where there wasn’t a line. The big guy with a beard returned to the customer service desk and told me that I had too much stuff to check out there. At this point I was even more furious. I went back to my old line that was finally operational and there were 4 people in line. I went to a different line and was checked out by about 7:50pm. You need to train your staff on how to deal with situations like this. You need to move the waiting customers to a different new register or personally help them check out at the self service desk. The idiot with the gift card should have been immediately escorted to the customer service desk to free up your operations. I should have never been told that I had too much stuff to self check out. The big guy with the beard should have personally bagged my items into a cart at self check out if he had any inkling at all what customer service means. I don’t plan to shop at your store again.

My wife was there today and for whatever reason the first card she tried was declined (yes, the was money in the acct for the transaction). So, no worries; she figured shed write a check from her trusty new acct at PNC. Thats when she got the third degree and sent to the customer service center with a manager who was anything but pleasant. Told her she was like toto and wasnt in Kansas anymore bc she has a state id from Florida. However, that same ID was enough to start a bank acct at PNC located right there inside of the bank. And her FL ID was also good enough to retrieve her bank card after she left it on the atm THAT SAME DAY. My wife stopped there multiple times a day because she works on Falls avenue. After today shes considering closing her bank acct at PNC and never shopping at this location again.

The WORST Giant that I have ever been to. 2 times in a row they sold BAD seafood to me. The manager still insisted that their seafood are fresh. I brought them the seafood that I have just bought and showed to the manager. He said the seafood I got is bad and the seafood he saw in the seafood section is fresh. He is ridiculous! This Giant has the least customers that I have ever visited. The one in McLean is way better. Customers are smart. They know where to find better store. This store has management problem. The manager does not see their problems why customers stop coming.

I love this store. I like the managers, the checkers, they are all so friendly and helpful. My only comment: dont buy red grapes until they fix the problem with them. Ive tried for 2 months to buy these grapes and every time there has been something wrong with them. (fine on top, but mushy, oozing. Today I went by to see how they were and there was something like mold and/or cocoons in them. I made the store aware. Im sure they will fix it.

While I was there I was in the produce section and walked by the strawberries and just glanced at them and immediately saw a container with moldy strawberries. I told a worker and he seemed unbothered and simply removed the box. Then, I got home with my groceries and was beginning to cook dinner when I realized the rosemary I had purchased also had mold on it! This store needs to discard old produce and check it more frequently.

This store is convenient for me. People are friendly. The deli selection is pretty great. And the produce has improved in the past 6 months. Overall, what you would expect from an average grocery store.

Great grocery to get fresh produce and other necessities. There is a good wine section to choose from. Meats and seafood are available. Great sales if you follow the circulars.

Selection, staff, easy checkout combined with the best prices in the area make this our grocery store of choice - despite the bounty of options in the area.

They overcharged my family ten dollars for something we didnt pay for. And, the workers are rude, and the bathroom and interior are outdated.

Never know what the store will have in stock. Every visit is an adventure. Management has never fulfilled or followed up on a request.

The price tags are often misplaced. Price tags of certain items are even missing. Takes a long time to get customer assistance.
